Combine the Skorpion with Sleight of Hand perk on small maps and it can be quite effective. It also has almost no recoil, you can actually use it to pick people off from sniper rifle distances.
 
Just a note, I really like prestige because I have the most fun playing during ranks 1 thru about 48. 50-55 seem like such a chore that the game loses its fun a little for me during those ranks.

I hear ya man, i suggest doing the objective type games. I did team dm and ffa up until about 45, and then i do search and destroy so im not stuck in that range for too long. I will probably stick with S and D next prestige.
 
I dont think Ill ever get bored of this game.


I got bored of Gears and Halo VERY quickly, but I just like this game so much for some reason. Probably because its a lot more realistic and I have more fun playing with friends.

Truthfully, I'm getting bored but not of COD4, just the maps. I'm hoping for atleast 5 new maps with the DL content coming in Spring. I've been playing the "hell" out of it since day 3 of the beta and I bought it at release, so that's 4+ straight months of the same thing. I can hardly stand Crash, Vacant, & Overgrown especially plus the 2-3 others I really don't care for playing.
 
Just went 61 and 9 on the Bog in Mercenary Team Deathmatch. Used the M16 red dot and got a 24 kill streak.

Oh yeah, and if you want to get some guns up play Mercenary Team Deathmatch. The people that play that are garbage.

However, I do eagerly await Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. If not just for a change, as Halo 3 doesn't appeal to me at all (I somewhat regret buying the game during 40 dollar Best Buy sale).

Bring on the new maps, please. Oh, and some people may be bored with COD4, but the amount of people online has increased by a few ten thousand over the last month. I regularly see more than eighty-thousand people online at any given hour (aside from early morning). Just a month ago, I could have sworn the median was at about fifty-thousand people.

But yes, new maps, and possibly weapons and/or challenges, please. ;o

See thats why I dont get how CoD4 beat Halo 3 in the recent NPD stats. Everytime I look on Halo its over 100k+ (night) and the highest I have ever seen CoD is the upper 80k range.



And I went 109-16 in a Sabotage game last night :)

And I mean that in a sincere, non-sarcastic way. Not a lot of people play Sabotage these days, which is a shame as I do love me some Sabotage. Search and Destroy has taken off as the favorite of present time.

I have tried to get into Halo, but just don't find it appealing. :cry: I think Call of Duty has spoiled me.

It is very short, but it's awesome the first time through. I wasn't able to get into replaying it on hard difficulty like many as the AI just gets cheap.

I'd say just rent it if you're not into online multiplayer. If you like online, then definitely buy it as CoD4 is fantastic online.

No, Its just that by the later ranks I'm done with gun challenges and many of the reasonable challenges in the game, so leveling up seems like more of a chore.

i havent played this game in weeks, the multi player is great. i got it around christmas time, along with halo 3. i played only halo several times and its been collecting dust. definitely prefer the realism of cod4, but other than ranking up, i'd get more replay value if they have online co-op..thats the big issue for me
 
help1, I'm curious. Do you play with a team when you play? Do you mix it up with all the different gametypes? Do you use different guns each time that are useful to the gametype/situation? What's your kill/death ratio?

The reason I'm not sick of this game is because I'm good at it, I only play with my team which means I'm winning most of the time, and I usually switch up the guns and gametype to make sure I don't get bored. With more maps and the patch to make the gameplay even better, I can't wait.

Sounds like your problem is HQ. HQ is probably one of the most shallowest game types on COD4 Its a bunch of Idiots Running around with their heads cut off lobbing grenades at the air and jerking off everytime they get someone in their sights.

Thats why Sabotage and Search and destroy are my favorite game types.

And of course it Run and gun...if you dont like a game where you "Aim and Shoot and Die" well....maybe you shouldn't be playing an FPS!

It can suck playing with randoms if they suck, but there's nothing more satisfying (to me) than single-handedly leading your team to victory when the rest of the team blows.
 
Good gaming last night, folks! Thanks to FullMetal/HotShot who hosted for like 5 hours (Sunday Night). Shit, even Cheapy Joined us for a few games!

I must say, that clan war we had around 2am (central) was epic as SHAQ FU!

Yeah, my K/D is awful because of it, but I am pretty good at capturing HQ.

Exactly. HQ is a great team game, it's great for Exp, and it sucks for K:D. Still my favorite though. I used to play it non-stop on the PC COD2 when it was originally released (though the scoring was a lot different then), and it's still my favorite.

No, I do not play as a team when I play because for some strange reason when I try to play with my friends or from people on CAG cod 4's list, no matter if we both have open NAT settings, some people fail to join due to error and I can't join them either.

I do mix it up, but I am definitely more of a TDM and HQ kind of guy.

Yes, I alter my gun type. Sometimes ill be stealthy with my MP5 silenced with UAV jammer, sometimes ill be out Rambo style with a RPD and other times ill just be normal and stick with the M16, M4 or AK.

I win a fair amount of the time, and I am by no means bad at the game. If I am not in 1st place, I am in second. My K/D ratio isnt as good as it should be due to the fact that I play a ton of HQ, so its at a lowly 1.5, but once I hit 55 I am not going to prestige, instead I am going to play TDM or something to help my K/D to 2 or better.

I am not stoked for the maps, but I am eagerly anticipating patch.

Also I am not a 55 yet because my 360 was broken, and I have been switching back and forth between GOW, Halo 3 and this. I have a total of 20 hours online, now.

I really enjoy the cover system in RS6. Hopefully they take a bit of power away from the grenades though as I would get two kills with most grenades I threw. They at least gave the host the ability to lock them out though
 
Basically all I play is HQ and my kd ratio is at 2.38 right now and I just cracked top 1k in kills... The game is great for everything if played right, and before anyone asks yes I do go for the objective I just get a lot of kills when we do capture the HQ
 
I like Domination because it keeps the spawns straight if you don't take all 3, and you can push your opponent back into their base.

I was playing HQ back in the past to get XP faster but because of playing with randoms mostly and the fact I'm usually only 1 out of 2 people actually trying to cap the HQ my kill death went to shit so I only try to play it with friends now.

congrats man, i had a couple of days off because my modem died, so i dropped to 2,500. i just hit 55,500 on kills tonight and pushed my way close to 2,300 again. i am slowly making my way up there now, i have been trying to rank up fast, so i am using a lot of weapons that i cant stand. i am at a 53 on my 9th prestige, so i am almost there and then i will just use my normal weapons the rest of the time. got my k/d up to a 2.32, so i am catching you there now and to those of you who think it is going to be easy to get a 2 k/d, i would think again. with vegas 2 about to come out, a lot of the people that are bad at this game will probably jump ship and hope to be good on there which will leave a lot more competetion (i am hoping at least).

the 2 game modes i found easiest to get k/d up on was free-for-all and mercenary team deathmatch. while the players may be bad, you will still get losses in those 2 modes, especially mercenary TDM (i once had a match where i had 40+ kills and still lost). considering the rest of my team had to get 35 kills combined at most, just imagine the frustration with it if you want wins.
