Call of Duty Black OPS
BTW, the people on the PS3 are terrible. I have played COD4 and MW2 on there and they are almost all completely bad at the game, it seems like most don't really play shooters which is a dominate type of game on the 360.
This is why you're a pubstar on the PS3 in comparison to the 360, hustletron.

Yeah but the difference between you and me is I don't care.

EDIT: Why on earth would people want to get rid of the emblem maker. The creative possibilities are nearly endless.

Because it is completely pointless, many times "offensive" (doesn't bother me, but could bother others), and the biggest waste of their time making it instead of looking for better things to add into the game. I would rather just use the pre-made emblems like MW2 had or go back to just having a default rank with no emblem than have this honestly.

Anyways, played some domination tonight and I loved it. Winning by over 70 2-3 matches in a row is always entertaining, even though one annoying person with us decided to spawn rush a few times to spawn them behind us.

I agree with SlimJim. The emblem maker is pointless. It's not necessary in the least. It is neat to tinker with it, but it's also being abused (and punished, thankfully) on a regular basis. I personally report everything phallic (WHY SO MANY PENISES?!), sexual (TOO MUCH GORILLA JUICE and/or DUCK BUTTER!), offensive to religions (namely swastikas, though I personally am not offended by it unless used oppressively, but it does have historical significance), or flat out retarded (swear word "filter bypassing"). Gives me something to do in the lobby when I don't need to change anything.

I have seen some amazing emblems, too, though. I've seen Bob-omb, the Serious Sam bomb, Yoshi, the Half-Life symbol, Batman (a GOOD bat man, unlike the one posted earlier in the thread, lol), and more.

In reality, it's the easiest way to see who's a douche and who [probably] isn't. I'd much rather have titles and emblems back, so I didn't have to look at the occasional rough hack-job sexual act between a horse and a gorilla. The occasional shitty emblem kinda ruins seeing the decent artwork that someone can imagine with these basic tools (and very limited colors!)

Side note: Just re-unlocked the FN FAL, my baby!

You certainly whine and moan a lot in this thread and the Reach thread for someone who doesn't care.

The emblem maker is a piece of shit. It's like MS Paint. Terrible in comparison to MW2. I guess I'd rather have it there than nothing at all though.

That is a whole lot of knife bullshit Trakan. That seems like an increase to commando from MW2 without even having a perk. For some reason I don't get too many people knifing me *knocks on wood*, but I do seem to get a fair share of people sponging bullets. HC HQ is nice for those days where 10-15 bullets just doesn't seem to be enough.

Who cares about the emblem maker? Really. It's just something interesting to make yourself unique. Yeah, there's the stupid swastikas and penises and all that, but does that really affect you that much? There's no reason to remove it, in my opinion at least. I suppose having other titles and emblems to choose along with the emblem maker would be nice, though.

People who play games to win is fine. Determination and all that and honing your skills is good. It's not fine when having that attitude towards games gives you an absolute asshole attitude as a person when it comes to playing them. If you play to win but can't accept that you just lose sometimes and blame EVERYTHING on "Lag bullshit! fucking teammates! WHY DOESN'T MY KNIFE WORK! Guess I'm shooting duds! Yeah, ok, way to be cheap, yep, nice. Good for you", then they need to take a break and calm the fuck down.

God damn, that irritates me.

It seems that, after seeing it happen to me a lot and accidentally doing it myself, if you backpedal a little and then go forward to knife it does that whole Commando-lunge thing.

Then again, I've had situations where I just run forward and it lunges for me. Guess it depends on where you're at. I'm getting sick of playing stuff like One In The Chamber where a guy will follow me from behind, be not even CLOSE to knifing range and kill me by stabbing the air between us. Sometimes it's a close call, but a couple of matches ago it was really, really bad.
It's kinda funny that the only really stupid people in cod threads on this site (hustletron, krakrabbit) play on PS3.
Because of that, there's a lot of the same complaints that you mentioned going on between our team. I'm sure those things happening to us is just as frustrating as having to hear people complain about them but, in the case with this game, a lot of those complaints are based on facts. That's another reason why you're seeing so many "bullshit knife" videos in here, etc. - to show that there's a reason for us to go crazy when someone performs a Psycho Crusher knife kill on one of us.

Having played MW2 and W@W on PS3 (and 360) I'm not surprised.

I'm curious if it has to do with free online play.

The one thing that bothers me about the additions of anything that doesn't add to gameplay is when bugs, glitches, etc. ruin hinder gameplay. I don't play much multiplayer, but I play the hell out of COD campaigns. Just played through COD2 on veteran last night for the first time. I usually play through at least twice. Once on recruit, so I can be stupid and just have fun, then on veteran for a good challenge. Then I play through several missions a second time for intel, cheevos, etc. Because of this I spot more errors and experience more glitches than the average player. I had to reset the one mission because Woods wouldn't move up and throw a grenade in the rat tunnel. I must have restarted that part 10 times before saying screw it and just restarting the entire level. Then enemies spawning out of thin air (and dropping from 4ft in the air no less), the crossbow Woods hands you magically appearing out of thin air. It's all sloppy shit that should have been fixed prior to release, especially a game with so much time, money, and manpower behind it.

Note: Most of you play multiplayer and probably don't care, so I just wasted 10 more minutes of my life. HA!!

P.S. I believe playing on Veteran has made me numb to losing in multiplayer.

I forgot about this happening. Thanks for taking the knife for me, man
How the hell did he not die from both of you shooting at him...

Those videos look like its either bad aiming, or lag. In the last video both the guys were shooting where the guy was, instead of where he currently is. You can see the bullets flying past him until the very end. I really hate knives, because i never think of doing it until its too late.

As for the heat sinking grenade, he was just lucky for it to roll your way.

Or, if you're like me, you realize that it's not that big of a deal and don't shit your pants over it.

It's lag.

Also those "heat sinking grenades" happen waaaaay too fucking often. It seems like Treyarch added some extra rolling physics back to the frags considering they didn't roll anywhere near as far in MW2, which is probably why they sucked compared to the Semtex.

I raged last night when some asshole chucked a grenade at me on Array. I was behind one of the broken down jeeps, the grenade goes through the windshield, rolls off the passenger seat and onto my feet.

At least frag grenades are more useful this time. Perhaps they did help them out a bit by giving them directional enemy awareness, but it's not impossible to escape them unless the enemy properly cooks it.

There's also Flak Jacket's pro requirements, and pro ability to reset frag timers on enemy grenades.

I still like semtex though.

Saw an awesome emblem today....
Just finished the single player campaign today, liked it a lot, haven't dove into the multi-player yet.
Nice, I really enjoyed the SP, but for some reason (and this happens with every CoD I played), I never ever want to replay it, no matter how much I enjoyed it.

I will probably play through again on Veteran difficulty but that will probably be the last time minus the multi-player. I did notice a huge bug/error when I was on the Nova 6 mission where I actually got an error stating something about too many objects on the screen or something to that affect and I lost my entire save back almost two levels.

Damn I hit a wall today, hard. I put in the disc, played about 5 min before simply saying, "I'm done."

The game is solid no questions about it but other than the novelty of wager matches it really feels like I have been playing the same game for years now. I really wish they would have made some brand new core modes I could play. I still like, Demo, Dom, Ground war, Sabo but just cant shake the feeling that I have been playing this forever.

I already beat it on Vet, probably come back and knock out some of the cheesemints. Keep it for a while to play with my friends but I think I have seen everything there is to see here.

AC:Brotherhood?

How was it on Vet? I've beat COD2, 4 and MW2 on vet, of which I think 2 was the hardest (other than NFITWR and MHC on 4). I need to get moving on this campaign.

I would have agreed with you on this almost the full time I played MW2 until the last week or so that I played... I had the most ridiculous kill on me from a frag. It happened on Crash and I was running through the 3 story stairwells with a AA-12 and got to the bottom killed a guy and ran into the closet area to reload. I get in there and some guy from outside the door way (Domination C Area) threw a frag into the doorway... I sat and watched (I was using Sit Rep) as it bounced off one wall, hit the other wall, then rolled around the corner and into the closet with me. Not gonna lie... I wasn't even mad. I was impressed beyond all belief.

But yea... Grenades do seem a little bit more heat seeking in this game.

Vet sucked complete balls. One of the worst in the series because they decided to bring back infinite re-spawning enemies and a lot of the plot points have you running through wide open spaces or very tight corridors. Instant kills a plenty are in your future.

There were times when I would die 5 or 6 times in a row without ever leaving the check point. Load, run forward, die, reload, stand still, die, reload, duck behind cover, die, reload run backwards, die.

Shitty McShitty.

Oh and one more thing, the game loves to back checkpoints seconds before a 1 min - 2 min long cutscene so be prepared to view the same cut scene 50 times in a row.

There was definitely some bad aim due to the fact that I was taken by surprised and had just taken damage from a noob tube. That's not the problem though, the problem was the 87 foot lunge.

Playing for cheesemint have made me realize just how many long ass unskipple cut scenes there are in this game. Having to wait upwards of 5 min before I can play is lame.

do i have to get an ability before i can knife lunge? a guy walked into a doorway with me and i went to knife him and i just swiped, while he lunged a couple feet and got me. and many other times i just swiped.

Just make sure you have the "Commando" assault rifle equipped and it will work ;).

Confirmed, standing under the rocket on launch map will kill you when its blasting off.

PS I hate the RC XD. Especially when i shoot it and it doesnt blow up.

Pretty good tomahawk kill earlier, off the floor, off the wall, then spirals down the stairs right into the dudes head

Anyone gotten weird lag, where they join most games with one bar of latency while almost everyone else has 3-4? I've had this issue twice, had to restart my 360 to fix it... I guess? I was playing in a party and 3 games we joined gave me one bar, while, by myself, I joined a couple games and had 3-4 bars.

Kinda aggravating, but I guess it can be "fixed". It's weird, though, because just before this happened (for the second time, separately) I was playing Naruto UNS 2 with a friend with no problems.

This only started happening with Black Ops.... or at least, to my knowledge, just Black Ops. I didn't really play games online before then, besides occasionally with friends. All of the standard ports are open, but don't seem to affect it.

Ive been using killstreaks Spy Plane, Attack Heli, and Dogs. Now i havent reached dogs yet. One game i got heli, and as i was sending for it someone shot me. DOH! I am just using these because whenever i use something like Mortar, Napalm Stike, Carpet Bomb... im lucky to get 1 kill. Thats even when i can see a spy plane and know where they are. I dont want turret, i never know where to put a sentry gun, i dont want my care packages stolen...which there never seems to be a good place to call for them. So yeah, the spy plane, attack heli, and dogs are killstreaks that can help me out, wont get stolen, cant get hacked, get kills by themselves, and i dont have to control them. I just wish it didnt take me 8 kills to get my second killstreak, especially with so many bitch RC cars running around whenever some noob gets 3 kills in a row.

I'm rolling with RC-XD - Attack Heli - Blackbird

Will switch out for Chopper Gunner when I get the chance.

RC-XD is great for getting kills and also for scouting where the enemies are, especially when so many people are running around with Ghost on. My Spy Planes aren't as effective as they used to be when the game came out.

I try to be the best team player I can be, so I use Spy Plane - Counter Spy Plane - Blackbird. I also feel that a spy plane can help get me more kills than an rc car or napalm strike.

I've recently started using RCXD - Care Package - Chopper Gunner. Completely offensive, but it works. I love earning the Chopper Gunner. Feels good.
