Man i sometimes hate hardcore team death match because my teammates always kills me on accident at the worst time. One time i was climing the gate to get onto the roof and dude kills me. Another time i was 1 kill away from dogs and idoit kills me. :bomb:

Does anyone get any disc read errors with this game? I am on my 2nd xbox. Every other game I have tried to play works fine, but this one randomly stops. I saw a few light scratches, but I bought the game new. It shouldn't even have those light scratches. Is my 360 shitting out on my again? I have tried to install the game, but it stopped halfway through.

Edit: I forgot to mention that this is the second copy of the game I have. The first got scratched to hell. I got it from gamefly, and just assumed that some shipping problem caused, but now I think my 360 is screwing my game discs up. What should I do? It is only with COD.

As long as your party leader has the CE, everyone in the party can get into the Officer's Club room, which is the double xp room.

The hardest part is getting away after you planted the satchel charge, If you go to far, the tank shoots you and if you stay to close then the blast gets you. Or, some sniper gets you.
 
Double XP weekend? It was supposed to be a week... When did it start? I didn't play at all yesterday so if it was a game message I haven't seen it. Just checked and no mention on CoD.com either.
 
Is the Double XP just this weekend? I was over at my friend's apartment last night and for some reason we could both be logged in to live, but only he could play, so I never got to fool with it since he didn't have the CE.

He hadn't played the multiplayer yet, so I got to destroy some noobs in the Boot Camp for a second time. I went 30-6 on Seelow using only the M1A1 and managed to headshot someone from the bridge in the very back of the map using the iron sights.

ah man, i missed out on boot camp! i didnt know what it was until i was already in the twenties. I played hardcore tdm from the start but i kept thinking "why do all these people point out im lvl 1?" can you play boot camp when you prestige?
 
Alright, the campaign mode where you're the Russians attacking the Germans and you have to blow up the four flak cannons just pissed me off. I finally ended up getting all four after at least a good hour, but now I have to go into the entrance of the Reichstag or something, and I rushed up to the entrance but was blocked from getting in. hm..

No all weapons/challenges reset. Only exception is if you have the Gamestop/CE codes for those 2 guns, but you can only use them early when you're using the default classes. They don't work early in the custom classes.
 
Double exp for TDM and war ONLY what a crock of shit. Someone said that every 2 days they are rotating this week but we shall see...

I played them for a bit but the hosts were laggy and I can get more exp playing other modes. What a waste of every CE freebie, at least the case is nice.
 
Its really annoying what you can and can not shoot through. I seem to always get killed by shooting through walls, metal, whatever. Yet when i try to snipe a guy through a Japanese flag, sorry those were made bullet proof. Sometimes i also see a guy clear as day and it seems like something is blocking my bullet.

The guy carrying your flag has to run up there. Just keep killing people on the steps until the respawn slows down, then run to the top left of the steps and lay down behind those crates/sandbags or whatever they are and eventually your flag guy will run up and then the level is over.

my purchase is depending on this.

That is really a dumb assessment.

Actually COD4 had an extremely lasting appeal but because this game is an exact clone I am already tired of it.

The new game smell wore off quickly after I played it for about a 3 weeks and realized that this game could have probably been made by a couple guys in a basement then released as a mod for the PC versions.

I have said this many times already, I understand COD4 was great and popular but Tryearch should have been inspired by it to produce their own game, not clone virtually every aspect of it.

It seems like IW will always be one or two steps ahead so instead of just playing catch up maybe Treyarch should a top notch game under their own accord.

I dont even get the death cards thing. No one seems to know where you can actually use them at.


You seemingly can only use them in co-op campaigns under match settings. Nothing more nothing less.

Kinda makes them pointless as hell though because you cant use them in the SP where you would think a person would have the most fun with them. I mean...at least I would go back through a couple levels with some of those death cards on. But why put them in if you cant use them for anything but 1 mode?

Most people do not system link anymore. But if you are that concerned you could always call up the customer support number and asked them.

if your system is plugged in and you try to host a game can another user log in?
can you splitscreen any modes online?
im pretty sure you dont actually need multiple consoles linked to try this.
 
I'm having a REALLY difficult time adjusting to this game. I'm absolutely horrible at it and I'm seriously considering giving up because I'm really not having any fun. I was decent at COD4 but this is ridiculous. I can't kill anything and it feels like I'm unloading a full clip in these guys. I get sniped right when I spawn and it feels like every round I'm play "The Gods of COD". It sucks. Does anyone have any tips or weapon suggestions? I'm about ready to go back to COD4.

what lvl are you? what game types do you like? what types of guns do you prefer? which gun you use seems important, more so then cod4 to me. spawn system is weird so be mindful about them spawning behind you. other than that, its the same as before; mind line of site, check the comon sniper points as you roam, shoot the body and move up to the head, the usual stuff.

At first i was doing bad, after doing well in the beta. But once you play enough you will get better. I like to get to certain spots and take care of business. I dont run around a lot.

I actually find COD5 alot easier than COD4.. I don't know maybe I've just been playing against weak competition but my K/D ratio is at like 1.26 when in COD4 it was something pretty damn low like .68 lol

I really like Team Deathmatch, or at least that is what I play the most. I'm trying to use silenced weapons so people don't know where I'm at unless they have a recon plane. My favorite guns are MP40, and Type 100 now. I was trying to use the BAR because I simply can't find any rifles I like to use. I can't find anything that was like the M16 from last game, which I loved. I almost used that exclusively with the P90 or M5.
 
In COD4 I was able to move around from gun to gun a lot easier. Not so much in this one. I gave it my all trying to complete the challanges for each gun, but my K/D ratio really suffered because of it, and it's not much fun to hit someone four times in the back only to have him turn around and kill you.

In the end, I found a couple guns I'm comfortable with, stuck with them, and have seen noticeable improvement.

If you haven't gotten there yet, you might like the STG44. It's a very steady automatic rifle. But I found it to be incredibly weak.

Dont forget the camouflage, i always use that. Plus in hardcore team death match you cant see a map unless they call a recon plane, but even then with camo they cant see you. Plus they are easier to kill. Which is why i like playing Hardcore better.

All right thanks for the tips. I'm level 27 by the way so I haven't got some of the guns. I think I'll try hardcore. If anyone wants to play later tonight add me as a friend, I'll probably be playing this all night and hopefully I can get the hang of it.
 
I used most of my guns up to the point where i only have a few left that arent maxed out with 150 kills. Shotty, Machine gun, and BAR without a scope. So i dont have much to choose from anymore, unless i use past guns, but i wont get any bonuses for killing so many people with them. Unless they are headshots. Im at level 59. :D
 
Frankysox, I got you as a friend and will make sure to invite you if I see you online. There are a bunch of us the play together (many of which you have played with Matt Young and I on COD4).

I hate the PPSh. I can't kill anything with it. It's the weakest of all the SMGs, even with its crazy high fire rate. I played hardcore using it to go for the challenges and I still had trouble killing people. It took a crazy amount of bullets.

The only thing it has going for it is its huge clip right off the bat.
 
Man i dunno what it is but i shoot people and they dont die today. I get killed through walls, but when i try it dont work. Worst of all, i keep shooting a guy into last stand, then shoot him again and he doesnt die, then he has a chance to shoot back and i get killed. Seems like half the time when they go into last stand they get a second of invincibility or something.

Agreed! :bouncy: The last couple days I've been playing regular TDM and it has ruined my life (on COD). Ugh! But hardcore rocks and I appreciate it so much more now! :)

And Franky, I think you're on my friends list too. If you see me on playing COD multiplayer, jump on into the game! :) It's a lot more fun shooting (and getting shot by) people you know ;).
 
PPSh is total garbage even in hardcore. I was really looking forward to it the entire time I was working towards it and like previously mentioned it takes like 20 bullets to kill someone. I felt like I had a really rapid fire airsoft gun.

The Type 100 on the other hand is amazing. I had been neglecting it recently as I've just mostly been using the STG-44 or the Kar98k for sniping, but I set up a class with it again and went 24-1 on Hangar this afternoon.

Also, I'm loving playing this game in party mode as you don't hear all the ignorant assholes on Live.

I think they do get a few tenths of a second of invulnerability while the body is doing the falling animation. you have to follow them down all the way.
 
I don't know... I think I've hit Shan in the head many a time as she was falling into last stand before she actually hit the ground.

Last Stand is very broken in this version. They can shoot faster and with much more accuracy, not to mention you can heal someone. I have to use it mainly as an equalizer which sucks because I never use Last Stand.
 
I kind of wish they would do something with Last Stand and take it out of Hardcore all together. I hate when I pump a dude in the chest with a shotgun and he drops and shoots me before I can even repump my damn gun.

Agree 100%. They took a perk that was already kind of cheap in my opinion, and then ADDED the ability to heal and be healed. Plus you'll stay in "last stand" longer, and like you said, the bullets appear to be SIGNIFICANTLY more accurate and deadly.

I'm absolutely amazed I don't see entire teams using it more often.
