Captain Lou Albano (1933-2009) memorial wrestling topic

Oh, I see - a "because of" or "in spite of" their physique argument?

I don't really think of women in terms of whether I'd "smash" them, to use the internet parlance. I can recognize if people are attractive, even if they aren't, personally, to me. Tale Michelle McCool for example. She's repugnant to me because she's just so physically bland. Blond and slender...and...? That's about it. If I were running WWE, I'd keep her on the payroll, though, because people do find her attractive.

Nattie Niedhart is another. She's soopa cute, but something about her body proportions make me think of her similarly fireplug-shaped father. Heh...and eww.

I think presentation is a big part of it; I just read an article on Chyna a few weeks back where the author argued that during the early WWF days (when she didn't talk, had no implants, and served to beat up HHH's opponents), she was never questioned in terms of her sexuality - but she was questioned in terms of her gender. Same as y'all are doing to Nicole Bass right now, in fact. But later Chyna was not treated that way, yet retained (some) of her muscularity. So I think it's presentation. You wear makeup and prance around like we think women are "supposed to be," or you're packing a cock in there. At least that's what the argument appears to be to me.

I like pro wrestling. I want to see females who are bad ass wrestlers. If they happen to be attractive, ok. But the kind of attitude that seems to think all females on tv must be fuckable has kept Jazz from any place of prominence in pro wrestling. And that's a shame, because she was really, really good in the ring. Can't think of any female wrestlers from this decade that are better than her.

EDIT: To sum up: if you think Beth Phoenix looks "like a man," or doesn't look feminine, then you need to get the fuck off the computer and get outside your house, because you're a fucking shut-in. I'm not saying you have to think that she's crazy hot to you personally, but put your "sharp knees" attitude away.

And fuck the direction this topic has taken.
I didn't mean to imply that they do. I just wondered if those who found Beth attractive also find Serena attractive seeing as how both of them have a defined muscularity. I guess I'm just wondering if that's a big part of the attraction of Beth for some. Personally, I definitely see the appeal in both of them. They both have some of what is typically thought of as masculine features due to their muscularity yet they still very much retain their femininity.

Nicole Bass, on the other hand...yeesh, talk about "through hellfire and brimstone".
Serena is alright, I just can't stand her attitude, but Beth isn't even my favorite Diva, the Bella Twins are. I like a lot of different types of women. In TNA I like Awesome Kong, not for her looks, but for the fact she annihilates everything in her path.

I'm just glad Beth has a new ring outfit. The TMNT stomach look wasn't good. The phoenix artwork is cool though.

Myke> I hear you about Jazz, but don't forget about Molly Holly. I'd put her right there with Jazz in regards to wrestling (although I know that isn't the point you were making).

 I think we lost MNTV when our cable channels changed a couple weeks back, so I'm pretty sure we don't get Smackdown any longer. So I haven't seen this new look.

I hear you on Molly Holly, so that's a good point. Those two had very different styles, though, with Jazz being more into matwork and submission. In the end, I think Trish Stratus became a pretty good wrestler, and so did Gail Kim. But the fact that they're *exalted* for their in-ring work shows how far the standards have fallen in what we expect from women's matches.

Kong and ODB have changed that somewhat.
I bet Beth Phoenix has you know "the huge thing" that Chyna has that was shown in her sex tape with X-Pac
There are some things in life you just can't unsee.

And that was no sex tape. That was a straight up porno.

Nice Phoenix theme. (The green and gold one she wears like this looks better IMO).

I know ring attire seems like it should be an afterthought, but less than ideal attire can bring a wrestler down. Samoa Joe is case in point.

God, it looks like Joe's body is frowning.

I really hope this Kofi/Orton program doesn't end before the month is over. I'd love to see where it could go.

Knowing the WWE they'll have their match at Survivor Series where Orton will pin Kofi clean in the middle of the ring. Two weeks later the WWE will have already forgotten about Kofi even being in the same league as Orton let alone they actually had a "feud." Meanwhile Orton will be given yet another title match against Cena at whatever gimmicky PPV of the month the WWE has after Survivor Series. You know because the WWE will either conveniently forget about their feud being "done" or they'll throw out some random clause that suddenly after a month now permits Orton to challenge Cena once again for the paper title.

Oh, and Kofi will be jobbing to R-Truth on Superstars.

Kofi needs new ring attire if he wants to be taken seriously.

Next WWE show is Survivor Series. Don't know when it is. 2 weeks? 3 weeks?

TNA's next PPV is...ah, who am I kidding? I don't have the foggiest.

Tell it! It's a shame Jazz isn't in either WWE or TNA right now. And if you guys think the "would you hit it" argument is a WWE only thing, I point you to Lacey Von Erich. In the ring for a bout 15 seconds, on a taped show no less, and no more business being there than I did. She is there for her name and the fact people want to look at her.

Let the man walk down in a clean ass suit
Since this has definitely gone off-topic, what's the consensus from Beth Phoenix faps fans on Serena Williams (again)?

I'd say that Serena has a beautiful body but her face is just....average on her best day. Her muscle tone though is sexy and non-threatening like some women who have pythons upon pythons

Watched the Christian vs Yoshi match from ECW on Tuesday. It was a solid tv match, but I was expecting something a little more exciting. Seemed like a one too many restholds for guys with their talent, but a few nice spots thrown in too. Yoshi's dive to the floor and miss looked like it could've ended up bad since he landed on one foot and his knee, but he appeared fine the rest of the match.

Frankie Kazarian asked for his release from TNA at the last set of television tapings because he's been frustrated with the creative direction for his character, Suicide. Management initially agreed to grant him the release, but AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels soothed over the situation and his release was never finalized.

Just get rid of the Suicide character. The gimmick is lame, and they kicked the legs out from under Kaz when he was way over with the audience.
