does anyone have any luck getting coins for older games? i tried registering some of my older stuff (which was not previously registered until today) and it didnt take me to any surveys or even gave me any coins.

btw i think its really down for now.. they probably realize theres a problem

Hm, I can't even log into it now. It says my username and password is incorrect. And I know better than that, I spent years on NSider. :p

Same deal. Maybe they've got it down to work on it.

So now all my coins, games, and systems are all gone from my account. I have nothing. Jesus this site is fucked.

same, and i have been logged in before, i aint sweating it though. I have waited so many years for this I can wait a little longer.

"Due to high traffic volumes, the sign in function may not be working properly. If you are sure your username and password are correct, please keep trying."

So once this site actually works, do we know yet if the 300/600 coins in a year for gold/platinum status is a Jan-Dec year? Meaning that you have to have 600 coins in the next 2 weeks, or is it just a calendar year so like now to next middle of December?

i got this while trying to log in ;)

Due to high traffic volumes, and Nintendo's inability to adapt to online communities in all its greatness, the sign in function may not be working properly. If you haven't used your Wiis for awhile to play any good games besides shovelware and excellent third-party titles that had lack of support from Nintendo, now is the time to watch George Bush in Iraq while some dude throws both of his boots at him off of it through YouTube. If you are sure your username and password are correct, then we can't help you so please keep trying.

Anybody know where the official list of games which are actually worth coins? I heard that not all Wii/DS games are worth points.

It sucks GBA/GC games aren't worth shit though.
What does gold/platinum even do?
You get some awesome goodies.
The Japanese Nintendo Club offered that awesome Super Famicom Wii controller as one of the choices for a prize to Platinum members

Meh, I saw that coming. It would be nice, I could buy the whole damn store out if they counted GBA/GC, but I knew better than that. Hell, I'm surprised they allowed as many Wii/DS/WW/VC as they did to be frank.

Believe somebody posted it on page 7 ;)

Nope, can't login right now. I actually got 30 coins earlier, but then they disappeared :( I cant get over 1000 coins right now if they'd just let me get on. I could have over 1400 if they'd put on every single WW/VC/Channel, but they have to be dicks because they know they'd lose their asses over it.

I have 530 points. I'm shooting for 600 in order to get the Nintendo DS Game Card and Stylus Set (Super Mario Bros. Theme).

Somewhere on the site I read that VC games give you ten points. Has anyone been credited for these yet?

w00t, friend of mine gave me their Animal Crossing Wii code,
so I'm at platinum level now :D

Not registering any products until after the next "Nintendo Club year" or whatever

The year ends in June, so it's not that long of a wait. kudos.

can i put a game on my intent to buy list then just enter it in and get 60 coins instead of 50? anyone try this

Edit: Nevermind i didnt realize that they post the intended games...i guess i can start registering my games

Exactly what I'm doing. I'm sitting at 600 coins, and I have another potential 690 that can wait until next year.

I'm finally able to start registering some games, but it keeps kicking me out and has none of my VC/WiiWare purchases. I'm assuming for those I either need to be patient or eventually contact NOA.

Woo hoo site works and just got 600 coins on the dot. I am not buying anything yet. If the G&W collection is still good when I reach 800 might as well get that.

I'm at 610 coins right now, and I could get up to 860 coins without registering anything new (Kirby SSU, Wario Land, Wii Music, and Animal Crossing are all waiting), but I might just hold off on those and just go to 810 coins then get the Game & Watch Collection.

OK, the site is working but it's kind of slow and I'm bored, so I'm stopping at Gold for now. I kinda want the stupid Wii remote bucket, but the Hanafuda cards are tempting as well.

I tried registering a game not on the list (Excite Truck) and got nothing for it, however it did bring up a list of everything I have registered so far and all of a sudden all my VC/WiiWare games were on there, but I didn't get any coins or surveys for them.
I wonder what the Special Surprise for Platinum Members come June will be.
Japan got their choice of either a calendar, a Mario hat cushion, or a golden Mario Kart Wii wheel this year, which was substantially more lame than last's year's pick of a calendar, a two-disc Mario Galaxy soundtrack, or the Super Famicom Wii controller. I'm hoping for the Super Famicom controller to come stateside, personally.

(And I ended up with the calendar this year by default, since I was like 30 points shy of Platinum status. Bah.)

Just did all the surveys a little while ago, I'm up to 650 points
Also hoping for a SNES controller, at least I'm platinum

I believe I registered 50+ items when i had my My Nintendo Account
too bad they all don't carry over

now to wait til next June

You know, call me crazy, but I have this weird feeling that they're going to put all those VC/WW titles up on this thing at some point (grandfathering in the old purchases), but not at the beginning because EVERYONE would be a Platinum Member like that.

Maybe it's your avatar.

It could be your avatar.

Is anyone else with that avatar not getting in?

....

Nope, I can't get in either.

You think maybe it's my avatar?

Like.. what makes me mad is that I haven't been logged in at ALL. It seems like most at LEAST got to see "Oh, I have 0 coins. Sigh" and be able to put a code or 2 in...

I can't even get there. This is why I think there's something wrong with my account.

Nah. I can get in fine now.

Did anyone hit platinum status and spend points? Do you keep the status or do you need to leave 600+ points in there? I really want that G&W collection.

Can you register more then one of the same item on the same account? I ask this because between me and my brother we have so much crap that could be registered.

Such as like 2 Wii's, 2 zeldas ect ect?

Hardware doesn't earn you coins, but yes you can register it and extend the warranty by 90 days as a result. After Xmas we'll have 2 copies of Kirby Superstar Ultra so our boys can play that game multiplayer. They have one copy now. They better let us register the 2nd copy and get coins for it! My guess is that it will be no problem.

I'm wondering this as well. I've already registered my friend's copy of Brain Age, but my girlfriend got a copy for her birthday that I'd like to try as well. Maybe when she wakes up I'll ask her for it and give it a try.

I'm pretty sure you only have to have *earned* that many coins over the year, that you don't even ever have to have had that many coins in your account at any time. I.e. that you could have spent smaller amounts before reaching a total of 600, but still qualify as reaching the 600 level. So: 50+50+50+50+50+50-300+50+50+50+50+50+50 still counts as having earned 600 coins for the year - how many coins you "spent" is irrelevant, what matters is how many you "earned".

If you signed up and are still getting the 'account needs to be transfered over', try signing up again. I had to do it multiple times until that shit worked for me.

As for not being able to sign in because of timeouts or heavy traffic... well, you're fucked for the time being. :p

Hardware doesn't earn coins ... damn sucks I have 2 Wii's (4 if you include friends :D ) and 3 DS's in this house haha. Oh well ... at least I have a ton of games to list still

There is something called a family account but I'm not sure what it does. I was going to sign up for it since my wife has her own DS and games and I know our daughter will be getting a DSL when she is a little older, but since the site is so flakey right now, I'd rather not screw with it.

You can register multiple copies of the same game if you have a family account, but you only receive coins for the first copy registered. If you have a lot of multiple copies it would be better to either make another account or try to trade someone else for a code they have multiples of.
