Club Nintendo

So, here's my situation: This morning I tried to 'Join Club Nintendo,' which prompted the site to ask me my DOB and e-mail. After providing both, it says, "Hey, we recognize you from My Nintendo! Provide some additional details and you're good to go!"

:D

So, I finish up everything else it needs to know, and return to the main page of the Club. I try to log in, but it responds, "Hey, we recognize you from My Nintendo! Provide some additional details and you're good to go!"

D:

I've tried providing what it wants at least three times now. It still won't recognize me and usher me to the new site. Anyone else either having this problem or think they might know what's happening? I've tried both Firefox and IE, but neither have been successful.

That's exactly me since last night.
If you missed it, I called Customer Service. He said the site is up, but the service is NOT up.. this is why there's errors and shit. Whatever that means, I don't know. Makes no sense to have a site up w/ no service.

I too tried FireFox and IE and failed ( on my PC at home and two different PCs at work. :wall:

Okay, thanks lilboo! I guess I'll just wait it out and try to log on later. ;)

eBay has been my Club Nintendo for awhile now...

Anywhoo, I got this message - I'm highly amused... at least someone at Nintendo has a sense of humor about all of this...
Oh.. suddenly decided to work.

Filled out a survey, hit finish, screen went blank. lol, quality.
Same here. I've got a list of surveys now, but I've only been able to complete one. Well, actually I've gotten credit for one...I completed another one about 10 times now, and it either sits at a blank page, brings me to the "Whoops!" page, or says "I'm sorry but your survey was unsuccessful".
 don't even bother. I've been trying off and on since like 10pm last night.
Hehe, I suppose I should clarify. By later I meant, like, in 2009. I figure this sort of problem won't resolve itself any time soon.

well lets hope they still have a sense of humor after they get my email @_@

Perhaps it would have been better had Nintendo simply opened Club Nintendo to those who have been faithfully registering products over the past few years (maybe 100+ registrations) until they got all the kinks worked out...

This is awesome. I sent an email to two seperate nintendo CS departments and got the same form reply... from the same woman. :applause::roll:

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a problem logging in to Club Nintendo for the first time. Follow the instructions, as you will need to verify some information and agree to the new terms and conditions. Make sure that you enter the email address associated to your old My Nintendo account, otherwise you will create a new account. If you aren’t able to recall the email, you will need to call in directly. Please contact Nintendo's Consumer Service Department by calling 1-800-255-3700 any time between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week.

Once this is complete and you have been returned to the Home page, you may then enter your username and password where directed. If you continue to receive the message that you need to enter additional information when logging in, please be aware that this is a known issue and that we are addressing it. In the meantime, I ask that you click the "Join Club Nintendo Now!" button and follow the steps again at a later time. Your patience as we make this transition is greatly appreciated!

At least they know about my issue and are addressing it. I feel better now. Twice as better, in fact. :bomb:
fuck i cant remember my username and there is no option to send me my username, only my password. What the hell! :bomb:
If you linked your "My Nintendo" account to your Wii Shop account, just poke around the Wii Shop Channel's settings menu. It should be there somewhere. And from there, just change your password. That's what I did, all of it.
Is it me or does it seem like whenever Nintendo tries to do something involving the internet, they fail?
Click on "Forgot Password?" and it will ask you for your user name or e-mail address (the one you used to sign up). Put in your e-mail address and it will then send you a link to change your password. Once you create a new password, you can log in. For "user name" use your e-mail address and then put in your password. Once you log in, it will show you your user name.

Because no other website in the history of the internet ever got overrun with traffic, right?

Not that I don't think this has been a big kick in the nuts so far.

It was just a joke guy, relax.

Think I'm getting somebody to give me a DS Registration code so that I can hit that platinum level today

If that doesn't work out, probably end up buying a cheap copy of Brain Age or something

Question, do you get any points for the system itself? I got my pokemon DS lite not registered yet because I was a lazy fucker. Will I nab any points from it?

I just got off the phone with a customer service rep.

Basically, he told me they are aware of the problem and the priority is pretty high in fixing the issues. If games aren't showing up they should show up eventually once all the issues are worked out. It's barely been out a day so they are still trying to resolve various problems with the system.

Take that for what its worth, but I'm willing to at least give them a little time to work things out. If say, in two weeks this is still an issue, then yes by all means complain but its a little bit too soon to begin bringing out the pitchforks and torches.

you only get a 3 month extension on the warranty like before. no bonus coins for registering systems, at least its not listed in the eligibility list of things that can earn coins as far as i know

It says I'm in, but that I have ZERO COINAGE, when I KNOW I have a LOT of the gamesw on the list already registered on my old account. What gives?

you have to fill out the survey to get the coins, but the problem with that is most peoples to-do lists for older games that have been registered that were eligible for coins is currently not working, so you will have to wait until they fix that. but you dont get the coins for registerring it, but you get it for filling out the survey that accompanies that game
Sigh
I know the feeling, I can log in fine, although slow. Can't do any surveys. I would not be mad except you launched the site. If this was a beta test, whatever but this is the real thing. You should of expected this to happen Nintendo. Amazon had no problems on black friday weekend (which got swamped) but you can't settle a problem in a reasonable amount of time, wtf.

Some games that I registered a while back now show up as having a survey attached to them. Yay.

It keeps logging me out when I try to complete them...

Boo.

Just registered Kirby Canvas Curse, no coins from that one :(
Wish they'd all give me coins lol
I have about 20-30 games that won't give me coins or anything

their approved list if very limited. i had to pretty much take out like 10-15 registration cards and im left with like 15 which will not even get me enough for my game & watch T___T
everyones online trying to register their games. but nintendo should have expected that. internet + nintendo = fail
and how!

Shit. I was signed in for a second then as I tried to do a survey about EWJ, it kicked me out. fuckers. There's some neat stuff up in the reward bit. I'd probably go with the boring pick (the game) but the stylus case thing seems classy. Well, as classy as plastic toys can be.
Well, everything that i entered in yesterday is gone now. My coins are gone :\
Same.
Same.
Mine are back :D Im just going to stay away from it until its not glitchy...

Seems to be running *much* more smoothly now. Just loaded up and finished a survey in less than 2 minutes.

Edit: Spoke too soon. Went to do another survey and I was signed out.

I have a my Nintendo account I haven't used for a couple of years (except for the Brain Age 2 stylus set, of course) but I'm not even going to bother trying until you guys start giving an indication the website is stable again. Thanks for the reports.

Does anyone have any extra codes they would like to trade with me? I have extra codes for Wii music, Metroid 3, Sluggers, Brain Age 2 and Diddy Kong Racing. If you don't have any of these and have an extra code, PM me with what you have.
