Countdown on Atlus USA site for Persona 3 FES?

Seems like they would want to announce it pretty close to release to keep all of the buzz from eroding, so I would think March would be a very good guess.

Besides MarkMan is already looking for his copy in the mail and he's usually a few weeks ahead of general release! ;)

I would think that they would follow japans trend and offer this in both formats, though hopefully not at the 69.99 price point that the complete went for in Japan, Not that I wouldnt pay it just too many games coming out and my wallet is hurting.

the msrp in japan is higher than US
 
man i don't wanna buy persona 3 again for FES...maybe if it was 20 bucks...or maybe they are releasing Vanilla ware's new project for the wii

Man, I just wanna know if Atlus plans on reprinting the Persona 3 if this doesn't feature that. I'm still looking for that game. I waited too long for a good deal... :cry:
 
People should know that MegaTen games dont really get reprinted.

I mean shouldnt people have learned that SMT games have small print runs.

Getting a deal on a SMT game.

That is rare.

Wasn't nocturne reprinted though, without the soundtrack? I wasn't expecting to find it clearanced out or anything, just maybe 5-10 cheaper than the retail price. If all else fails, my gamestop has a "new" one that's been opened with a beat up box. Ugh.
 
actually FES will includes the director's cut of Persona 3, the version with the new s link and stuff.

also persona 2 got a reprint with GQD.
 
Man, what? Nocturne was SO reprinted. The first edition has that has the CD also has the sticker seal across the top, which was then discontinued much later, and then after prices has gone up to near 100, a new printing hit with no top strip seal and the prices crashed.

Not all SMT games are rare. DDS2 and Devil Summoner disagree.

Not only was Disgaea reprinted, it was reprinted at least TWICE.

Doesn't matter to me. I buy what I want when it comes out so I don't have to worry about that.
 
I just like to get the facts right. :)

The top strip seal, if I recall, wasnt discontinued until at least the summer of '05.

Nocturne was released in October of '04

As we can see here in exhibit A, the 2nd Xenosaga, which was released in Feb of '05, has the top strip seal.

There is a printing of Nocturne that DOESNT have the strip seal, and DOESNT have "Includes Limited Edition Soundtrack CD!" printed on the back.

I submit that printings so far apart constitute separate printings.

Mysteriously, there is also a thread from August of '05 titled "Disgaea, Atelier Iris, Nocturne, DDS, Riviera, Makai Kingdom all getting reprints!"

Edit: So I've been looking up titles that were released in 2005 to try to get a better lock on just when the top seal went away.

Right now I'm up to April 5, with Rise of the Kasai, which still has it.

I havent been able to find anything on games released in May 2005, but I *think* Haunting Ground had it. Definitely gone by June though.

The new banner is up. It's an image of Aigis and it says "Persona 3 FES, Spring 2008."

And I just got the following email:

Dear Atlus Faithful,

Ok, we give up. The rumors were true.

Persona 3 FES is coming to North America!

Months of trying to keep FES a secret are now behind us (which means all of us here can reflect on just how futile an effort that was).

So what's the big deal about Persona 3 FES? "FES" is short for "Festival," and in Japan, FES was released as a reward for gamers who picked up the original. Not only does the new FES content enhance the original game, but the new FES component is actually a game in and of itself, accessible right from the get-go. We think of it as two games on one disc. It is the definitive Persona 3 experience.

We will be releasing the stand-alone version of FES. There was of course the option of just releasing the "Append" disc (which would have required ownership of the original game), but in the end, we didn't want you to have to own anything else to enjoy the experience.

So, uh... do I sell my original sealed copy of P3 (minus the big box/artbook) or just buy this in addition? I guess I'd lose the soundtrack. I suppose I'll keep it all together for now, an additional $30 won't kill me, and if collector's want the CE/original P3, they'll pay for it later too, should I feel like selling it.

I was going to rush to finish P3, but I I'll wait for FES and restart since it has been a few months since I have played it. Also, It's nice to see that I'll be able to use some of the progress from Persona 3.

I think you can only import your progress if you have a final game save from P3, but I could be wrong.
 
fuck yeah. Now I don't have to find the game now. I am so glad I reserved it yesterday. $25 more and I will have paid off my game! Shit yeah. This day is badass. New Slim PSP and I find out this is the full standalone game!
 
No hatin' from me, but still gonna sell off my copy of P3. Kinda wish they waited and just released FES instead of P3, cause I really don't feel like droping another 150+ hours into this game. I wanna take Koro-chan for walkies.

From what I read on the FAQ it doesn't sound like you'll need a finish game save. But they aren't really clear on that.
