COWABUNGA DUDES! TMNT out now on XBLA - 400pts!

Gah, this 200-point remainder from my last card is laughing in my face! I realized that I wouldn't have a chance to buy a new card today because I was going to a concert in NYC. But THEN it turned out that there was a Best Buy just a few blocks away from the venue! But THEN (part II) it turned out that the Best Buy had no MS Point cards left! Damnation!

Guess I'll just sleep on it and pick up a card tomorrow! Maybe I'll DL the demo to tide me over in the meantime...
I have work at 10. Deciding if I should stay up 2 more hours to wait for it, or just sleep and get it in the morning or after work tomorrow.
buy it tonight

Picked up 1600 points earlier tonight in preparation.

Now I'm playing GRAW2 hoping TMNT will be available in the next 15+ minutes or so :)

Wow, just woke up and was incredibly thirsty and felt like I was sleeping in an oven. I guess I'll just stay up, drink some water, and be one of the first to nab Turtles :)
Is it just me or does April have a bong in her apartment?
yes. yes she does.

Fantastic game. Just beat it after my workout before breakfast. Good heavens, I forgot how cheap these quarter-sucker games are. If I was pumping in real money I'd have been well over $5 after that run through, I'm sure. ;)

I love the typo in the ending. "Dimention X" instead of "Dimension X"

fuckers remixed the music.. and new sound effects.. i'll have to learn to deal, but damn, that already kinda made me mad. Plays just like I remember, though.

I played the arcade version precious little, but it sounds pretty dead on to most of the NES version as I recall, save for sounding better due to an arcade machine's power vs. the lowly NES soundchip.

Incidently, playing through this really made me appreciate just how well done the NES version was. Sure, the graphics weren't on par, but the level design certainly was.

I didn't notice any remixed music, but I didn't go beyond level 1 since I had to go to work. Level 1 and all the attract screens seemed the same. I'll have to compare it with the MAME one later.

They just HAD to throw in a little niggling issue here or there - they're minor enough so it makes me look like an asshole if I mention them, but I don't care. Cutting off the little intro movie where they jump into the building pisses me off to no end - mostly because WHY would they do that? It's not because of the music, because the same music is on the title screen. It makes no sense because cutting that out would require more work than just leaving it in, and there was no reason to cut it out. Not having a clean title screen (the character select always being up) is another baffling annoyance.

Ignore that if you're not a perfectionist like me though - this is still the best 400 point game out there and something every single person here with a gold account should buy.

And, uh...did anyone check if you could do local multiplayer?

*EDIT* H-Town Info, change your sig for christsake. Putting what you're listening to in a giant banner that fucks up the screen is obnoxious as hell.
I doubt it.
If you cannot save or continue at a certain level, I would be upset...as I don't have time to sit and play through the whole game.

Damn....this game is tough as hell when you're playing solo. At least you get unlimited continues. But the good thing about it is that It's still a great game after all these years. I remember back in the day when this game was big at the arcades and people would just pump quarters non-stop.....ah, the memories :)

Ooh, another question: how does joining an online game work? Can you search for open games and then join a game that's already in progress? Or do all players need to start the game together? Obviously it'll feel more arcade-like if you can drop in and drop out at any time. It's a totally different genre, but TimeSplitters 3 let you join matches in progress and it was all the more awesome for it.

Yep, there's local. I just finished through the game with my bro.

And I didnt notice any remixed music or sound effects. Sounds exactly like the original arcade game.
