COWABUNGA DUDES! TMNT out now on XBLA - 400pts!

I can imagine that this will be one of those rare occasions where everyone on your friends list is going to be playing the same game at the same time.

You mean a rare occasion for a game NOT named Halo or Gears of War right? ;)
Yeah i imagine for the first hour-90 minutes the servers will be like a crawl. It also depends on how big the file will actually be. Oh well, In another 12 1/2 hours, we'll all find out!

Turtle Power!
Not sure, but I thought it was going to be released at 2 a.m. Pacific Time. Is it actually 1 a.m. Pacific?

I've never actually counted down the hours for a live arcade release, so this is a first for me.:D
And is anyone else impressed a big name 4 player Live game will actually pass certification in a timely manner *cough*castlecrashers*cough*? What the power of a movie tie-in can do!
Castle Crashers isn't even close to being done. It's set to released, at the earliest time possible, in March 2008.

neither have i. but i would love to play some tonight. can anyone confirm what time live games come out? will it be midnight on the east coast? west coast? or do they come out at 9 am like VC games do? itd be nice not to have to check my 360 every hour.

The XBLA games are usually out at around 1AM PST, but it's usually, never right on the dot. So, you have to hang around that time.
I remember reading an op/ed piece maybe about a month ago where someone was saying that they think the developers often use the MS certification process as a scapegoat for the fact that they can't get their shit done on time. Seems more possible than ever right now.
Tommorow jim let's get some games of this going...

99.99% of the time the game is out at 4am EDT 1am PDT. Usually there is a half-hour window so you should see the game drop between 3:30 and 4:30am EDT 12:30-1:30 PDT.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll be coming into work late the next day.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I also may be going to bed early so I can get up and play for an hour or two before work. I've never done that for an XBLA game before, but for some reason I'm more excited for this than...uh, just about any other game on the 360. I dunno.

Yeah, we'll all be sick of it in two weeks, but for now it's great. Especially for 5 bucks.

Also, for those who were discussing the certification process and the developer using it as a scapegoat: obviously it's a case-by-case basis. However, don't be so quick to pass judgement on everything else just based on this.

It's VERY likely that this has been in development for a while now, and has just been kept quiet until the movie got closer. Remember how Doom showed up out of nowhere last year during E3? They're not totally inept at keep some stuff a secret. I have a feeling this has been in the works for a while, and finally someone let the cat out of the bag a few weeks ago before the official MS announcement.

Hominid and Worms were both 1AM PST pretty much on the dot. I'm really hoping TMNT is as timely, as I plan on staying up in order to get it the minute it comes out. :).

I'm really extremely excited--on top of that, despite the certification and XBLA suckage for the past few months-- I think this game got the hype-to screens-to vids-to release timing down exceptionally well.

I don't know if they were planning it as such, or if this was just a good release that was already in the pipe, but I'm seriously enthused to drop 5 dollars tonight*.

*:...also another 5 dollars on beer...

*sigh* I'm most likely getting my 360 later this week, and Gold later, so I won't be able to join you guys in the "launch party".

This game is such a dream come true, XBLA has gone leaps and bounds with its content. Hope my bro buys this tonight so I can mooch off it for a while.

In one of the sampe screens of the game it appears there is a static image around the playable section of the game. Does that static image remain on the screen when you play these sort of games? And if so isn't screen burn in a worry? And by the way I'm talking about the cartoon border around the game itself. Thanks.

Do you ever watch non-widescreen movies on your HDTV (if you have one)? Well, that's the same kind of burn in. You take a risk with every non-widescreen media you watch on a widescreen TV.

You can stretch the screen in the menus option to fill out your widescreen tv.

I was going to cut class for this. Then I rememebered that I have to drive a friend with me. Oh well, I will have some time to play after in between God of War II and this.
This'll be my first Live Arcade d/l ever, so I'm pretty pumped for this.
Not having Geometry Wars makes your Xbox cry. Like this:

I'm pretty pumped. Might actually get my butt out of bed early enough tomorrow morning to exercise and grab this. Most days I just barely have enough time to get a workout, shower, and throw some oatmeal down the hatch before racing to work. Stupid snooze button.

I don't have geometry wars. But my xbox is happy because it has mutant storm instead.

Same here... I may get up around 6am for this.
What time do XBLA games get released on the east coast? I can't sleep at the moment and was hoping this was already available.
about 5AM

I'm looking forward to this since I've never played it (or played very little of it back in the day and don't really remember it) and my friend and I need a new co-op Live game since we beat Gears a week or two ago. This will be the first Live Arcade game I pay for, and I must say the price is right.

Yea, I have a packed school day, so I'm waking up at 7am to get an hour or so play time in.

Well, I was planning on just getting it tomorrow and playing God of War 2 all night, but since everyone's staying up (and playing coop, I assume ;) ) I might have to take a break.

I just set up a xbox live account about 30 minutes ago and I am thrilled to know that my first game to DL will be TMNT, i just DLed the Doom demo, I should just buy it though, is TMNT four player co-op? if so..

4 player co-op over Live. :)

I had the Doom demo - it may have just been me, but it seemed like Doom didn't age well. :whistle2:/

I'll be on around 10am-ish to get it.. but I have class early in the morning then work all afternoon til around 1030.. hell, i'm skipping a class just because I have so much other shit to do.

I'll be buying it on Thursday, whenever UPS drops off my 360 from MS. Go ahead and add me if anyone wants to get some co-op going starting Thursday. Probably going to be playing it for awhile, can't wait!

I have work at 10. Deciding if I should stay up 2 more hours to wait for it, or just sleep and get it in the morning or after work tomorrow.
