Cowboy Bebop: The Complete Series - Amazon Exclusive Edition (Blu-ray/DVD Combo) - $70 ($30 off)

Mine came in a box with some really nice airbubble. The box came in perfect condition. Bad news though, one of my three order was cancelled today for some reason...

This box set is really nice. Not sure if I want to sell it or keep it. Definitely prefer this over the funimation set by FAR.

That is a really nice looking set. I really want to keep mine but I'm not sure I can justify it with what I could get for it.

It's the old dilemma of "sell it for multiple times what I paid for it and never see it again" or "keep it, knowing I can never get it again".

I sold my preorder copy for $450 thinking that I will never get it again, but few copies were available yesterday so I bought 2 copies to keep it myself. lol

You definitely got the early mover advantage because the price is sinking down quick now. As a CAG, I applaud you. They're more realistically going for 180 to 250 right now. I can't even move my copy for 250 I guess i'll either try an auction or wait for the market to dry up. I was hoping to sell my copy and get a wii u. Oh well.

Finally got my package a moment ago and happy to report it arrived without a scratch!

Started watching and this set is amazing! I really hope they do a similar Amazon Edition soon with Code Grease. The Funimation Edition of Bebop is kinda pathetic in my opinion. It looks so cheap but I guess there is a reason why it is somewhat cheaper.

If anyone has the Amazon one to sell I'm looking to pick one up, I won't be able to pay until after christmas when I get my bonus at work.

Typical Amazon. Just contacted CS. They didn't hold any inventory to cover defects or damages. My options are 20% off, return for full refund, or hope it comes back in stock. Yippee!

Maybe I should just order two of everything. Odds are one of them will always arrive damaged so I can ship it back for free.

How about $199.98 for a damaged copy? :D

ETA: Well, some good came out of this. Amazon is going to issue me a full refund and let me keep the item. That will work for now, though I'll still be checking for a reasonably priced mint copy.

What was damaged about your?

Man, I really am kicking myself for not starting an eBay listing sooner. I wonder if these'll go back up in price later, after the initial shipments? Keep it sealed? Hmm...

I'm thinking about keeping my sealed and just ordering the regular bluray set. I'm guessing these will eventually go up in price like that numbered perfect sessions DVD boxed set did until a new DVD release came out many many years later.

I think they will go down in price. The hype will fade away and it should be available for a more reasonable price. Now, the Funimation one will be tricky. 2,500 Copies and a lot of those are in the hands of hardcore fans.

Regardless, I've watched the first 5 episodes and it looks phenomenal. My only complaint is that there was a bit too much touch up work at times, but 99% of the time it maintains the original feel/look and adds to it. The work on Spike and Jet have been nothing short of spectacular. The "too much touch up work" I'm referring to was for minor characters. The casino owner/gangster from episode 3 is a good example of that.

The artbooks are cool, but I'm not a fan of their size. I would really want to see these images on a bigger page.

The outer packaging is top notch. I thought Spike looked a bit weird(front cover), in the Amazon pics, but up close he looks fine. Lots of different designs and colors all around the package.

Overall, it was definitely worth the $75 but the most important message I want to get across is BUY THIS SET. Limited or not limited, it's a work of art.

I have extra Amazon Exclusive Cowboy Bebop Limited Edition brand new sealed in mint condition.   $165 shipped.

PM me if anyone is interested.

I sold all the copies that I got. When you can clear a grand in profit, it's ridiculous not to. The people not selling are essentially saying they were "willing" pay the current market rate price in order to keep theirs. If you're independently wealthy, then that might be worth it, but I'm willing to bet most people here have below-average incomes.

You'd be surprised. Outside of students, obviously.

How many copies did you buy to get that much profit? Even if you bought your copy when it was $70 and managed to sell it for $190, which looks to be slightly above the average going price now, you're still only looking at a less than $90 profit.

The best thing to do now is wait and hope the price goes back up when the market thins out.

I sold mine for 190 too which after fees meant I got to keep my other copy for free.

Nothing amazing but as a grad student, it's good enough to make it worth it.

If I had known this was selling for over double what I paid I would have sold mine instead of opening it. Nuts. Would have been just fine and dandy with the regular anyway. Almost cancelled my pre-order, but the prices weren't signifcant enough difference to me at the time.

Just rest assured that what you paid for it got you the Blu and DVD combo with a bunch of extras. If I had the cash and chance at the time, I would have bit on it.

Early this month, preorder prices were as high as $500. I sold mine for a little under $400, and kept my funimation edition instead. So I'm assuming he sold his on the $300-500 range.

I only see one copy that has sold for $500. The same guy sold another copy for $250, which is still no where close to a $1000 profit. I say he had to sell at least five copies. I actually started to investigate it before I realized what the hell I was doing with my life. But good on ya'll, hopefully the price will go back up to the $300-$400 range.

Yeah I don't know then, lol. I bought mine to keep, but just couldn't after seeing what they went for on eBay. I preordered both exclusives, so I kept the funimation one as I liked the vinyl packaging more. That one us going for a decent chunk on eBay too, but I already opened it, displayed it, and love it too much to sell.

Just hopefully funimation will replace one of my discs, came out of the insert during shipping, pretty scratched up. :(

I should have gone with the Funimation one. That packaging would look great displayed on my shelf. But looking at videos of the art books in the Amazon exclusive is making me not want to sell it.

I bought 3 copies for $233 and sold 2 copies and made $540 after fees and shipping.  So basically I got a free copy of Amazon Exclusive Cowboy Bebop and $300 profit.  Nice.
