Yeah. That post was nonsensical. If the question had been brought up, it was not for lack of clarity on the part of Bungie or MS. And I certainly hope a forum member was kind enough to answer properly.
And you can still buy Crackdown, download the beta, and sell the disk... why wouldn't you be able to?
The fact that you posted this makes me worry that you are still unable to understand this simple concept.
Because according to the picture posted above, in order to run the downloaded beta, you need the disk - the "launch Halo 3 beta" option is located ON the Crackdown disk. It won't run by itself - the Halo 3 beta requires the Crackdown disk for startup.
There's the answer. You CAN'T use the Halo 3 beta without the Crackdown disk. One without the other is worthless.
The thread starter doesn't know how to write. He's also to stupid to be able to comprehend anything he reads.
Crackdown is NOT required for the Halo 3 beta. A copy of the Crackdown DISK (an edition with the beta download key burnt in) is required to take advantage of the third phase of the Halo 3 beta.
I don't think anyone in this thread hasn't been able to figure out what I meant. It seems to me that the only person having trouble comprehending anything would be yourself - no one mentioned any of the other phases for the beta. The majority of gamers on this site that didn't get in on the beta were going to do so by buying Crackdown, and this thread only applies to them. If you're going to call me stupid for informing people about how the Crackdown Halo 3 beta will work, so be it. I'm a

ing moron. At least I didn't call people out for having "poor reading comprehension" without being able to compose something made up decent sentences and proper grammar.
