Crackdown - Gen. Discussion & Info
Has anyone else had voice trouble when your quiet for long periods [of intense action] and then talking only to have interference ?

We had that problem last night .
We've had chat get choppy a few times, but never interference. Our biggest problem in co-op has been whole areas not spawning/respawning. We'll go to kill a boss, only nothing will be there, and have to go back to a Supply Point to get them to spawn. Has happened 4-5 times now. Not sure if it's the same thing, but making a pile of cars, we haven't been able to get more than 10-15 cars total, they just completely stop spawning after a little while - even on areas around the highway. You'll still see them drive across the highway, but if you move to go grab one, it just dissapears when it gets close.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but apparently there are 2 different color variations of the discs, blue and red. I got myself a red one.
Ive got red as well.....wonder which is more rare....unless its to designate which has the halo beta....
I've got blue, and it came with the Halo3 beta

I beat the game, and I want to just mess around in Co-op/find the rest of the orbs and finish the achievements. If anyone wants to play Co op, I'm always open, so send me a message and add me or something!

Alright, so you beat the game, and you see all the agents hanging around the former gang turf. Any chance that the downloadable content (that'll have at least the remaining 100 achievements, and possibly up to 250 more as allowed by the new Xbox Live rules) will consist of you, the new super-agent, taking down your former allies who have gone corrupt?

You know, the typical story twist, wherein you discover you were helping the enemy control the city? Final showdown: blasting rockets up the ass of the guy giving you advice all along, who was the big boss manipulating you into taking out the rival gangs. I'd love to hear him cry out in pain, especially after some of the crap he's said to me when I screw up...

Yeah so I havent played crackdown that much and I was playing with someone on co-op who had nearly everything maxed out so I kicked them and kept kicking them when they went down. So now I have two very nice weapons that I probably shouldn't have at this point. I don't remember the names of them.

For people having trouble with the Car Juggler Achievement, try this:

Place a small car at the base of flat-sided tall building. Throw a cluster grenade under the car, target it before it gets blasted into the sky, then riddle it with heat-seeking rockets. Naturally, make sure you pace yourself with the rocket firing.

I got the Car Juggler by going to the rig, taking the baggage-esque car and shooting it with rockets. They are on the platform near the boss of that place.

I got my car juggler at the oil rig as well. Put one of those little baggage handler cars by the ledge and then loaded up about twenty of those explosive barrels next to it. Tossed in a grenade and "BOOM". I got the achievement well before the car was even close to the water.
I need help jumping 200 feet in a car, and doing 2 front flips...any help?

(yes my driving skill is at 4)
I took a car into the Shai Gen's boss's building and drove it/carried it through the building until I got to the height that I needed in order to get the achievement.
Woooo! I just got it!

I went out of tunnel 2 with the SUV, and hit jump at the tip of the ramp :D
Hit jump? The cars can jump?

If so, I've been doing this wrong all along.

From what I understand, the agency cars can all do something with the B button when you reach 4 stars

SUV: Jumps

Sports Cars: Fires Guns

Truck: Speeds.

I thought the Supercar was the only one that did anything. Man... now I might be able to finally do the back-flip in the SUV. :)
Hold up on the left stick while you're in the air.
thanks, is that all the special moves he has? it sucks the melee attack only consists on jumping and spinning kicks
I really enjoyed fighting the final boss for the volk. That guy was both fun and challenging. It takes so long to get to the top of the tower where he's at. It took me a couple tries, but then i got to level 4 in explosives/agility/strength, and it made it a lot easier.

I heard a rumor about them releasing a deathmatch type thing for this game. I think that that would be a lot of fun. Also, i wish they had a mode where you could have like 4 friends online together just to mess around with. Make it so you can't do any missions, just for fun
thats funny because when I fought him I had already gotten the firefly and I targeted him from way far away, so far that I didn't know it was him shot a whole clip and then I got the guy saying "New information coming for the peace keepers agent"

Does anyone else notice the amount of DVD access while the game is being played? It sounds the the game is constantly reading data all over the disk.

Also, did any else notice that when you deploy your agent, the UI slows down (Watch the while swirls around the menu buttons). Or is there a problem with my copy?

Nope I have the same problem thank god. I wasn't sure if my copy of the game was bunk also. Glad to hear it's not just my game.

The DVD access or the menu slowdown thing?

... the Achievement is for a front flip in a vehicle.

Use the spoiler tags, jerk.

They'll save this kind of stuff for the sequel.

The sequel will either be this:

You're going against different sectors of the corrupt government (similar to the different gang sectors, in this title).

or

You play as a corrupt government super-soldier, in some fashion.

I'm leaning towards the first.

With that said, I think the only downloadable content for this title will be extra gangs, skins, guns and vehicles.

I think that would be kinda cool. I hope the guy in question will be SuperHuman himself. That would make for a great boss fight. ( Even though Crackdown should have had that in the first place )

I'm having a hard time with the high jump and the 6 second jump. I saw a video on xboxyde that if you climb with the SUV and fall back, its conisdered a jump, now I think I can get that one but anyone have tips on the 6 second hang time achievement? Also how about the one where you have to blow up X amount of gang vehicles in 60secs.?

EDIT: How to I get into the building where Wang is? I did it once early in the game but I didnt want to kill him cause I thought it was too soon, now I have no clue how to get in.

Those achievements are easy when you get into the Shai-Gen area. For the 6 second one, you should take out Cowell first. Cowell resides in a building with an elevator. If you kill him, you have access to his building without having the goons take pot shots at you. At that point, drive the agency SUV into the lift and take it up. Get out of the lift and drive your way to the top floor. Just drive off the side of the building and you will get the achievement for 6 seconds of hang time.

As for the gang vehicle achievement, you need to have either rocket launcher. Firefly preferable for rate of fire. Go into the *bottom* of Wang's building where the parking lot is. You will see multiple cars parked inside. When looking at it head on, it should look like two sections of parked cars. One section to the left and one to the right. Shoot a vehicle in each section and your explosion should chain onto the other vehicles. When you've done this, quickly run in the opposite direction for a few seconds and go back. The cars should have respawned. Repeat the process. After a few passes back and forth, you should be able to get the achievement without problems.

To get into the building where Wang is, there should be a side entrance on the right of the building.
I thought when you beat the game it gave you the option to repopulate the city with gangs again? Was that mis-information?
It does. I believe when your starting your game it says "Crime On" or "Crime Off",

 thanks for the info spidy!

If you ride up in the car in the elevator, you will get the ridin' high one. I have under 60 green orbs left and more Hidden Orbs to find. This is so much fun.

Finally got the 500 agility orbs earlier today. Took the better part of 4 hours to find the last two. fuckin' lighthouse.

I wish the purple stunt rings were there all the time and you didn't have to 'trigger' them. It's going to make getting them a lot harder.

I wish the rooftop and car race markers would disappear after you get them, I can never remember which ones I have beat and which ones I haven't.
I am having so much trouble aiming. More exactly switching targets. Tips?
That can be a pain. I just try to adust where the croass hairs are and pull the left trigger again. Sometimes a "rapid fire" lockon press helps too... sometimes not.

For the first time last night I took the Agency Truck Cab out. Holy Crap. That thing is amazing. I'm at 2 or 3 stars for driving and it essentially causes other cars to blow up on contact, even the heavily-armored Volk ones. Of course, it got me into a lotof trouble with the Peace Keepers last night, too. ;) But I was more than making up for it by knocking out 2-at-a-time gang members in cars, trucks, etc.

Another thing I did for the first time yesterday was jump into the back of a civillian SUV-ish thing, and rode there while he drove. Of course, he ended up taking us to a freaking war zone and died a fiery death at the hands of a Volk rocket launcher. Whoops.

Speaking of Rocket Launchers, the RL and the Grenader are uber fun. ;)

This game is a ton of fun. I'll have to juice up my account to Gold this week and mess around with some CAGs online.
I am having so much trouble aiming. More exactly switching targets. Tips?
It's a little wonky. Basically after you kill one guy you have to let go of the Left Trigger and move your reticule to the next guy. When you put your reticule on the next guy it will turn red then you can press and hold Left Trigger to target him.

There is no way of quickly targeting things. It will take a bit o' time to get used to.
