Crackdown - Gen. Discussion & Info

I'd like to run through Time Trials with a buddy if anyone is looking to get the complete Co-Op achievements.
Anyone looking to do some time trial action, feel free to look me up :)

Edit: you can turn ambient crime back on for a completed game ;)
I'd like to run through Time Trials with a buddy if anyone is looking to get the complete Co-Op achievements. I know you can start a new game with crime on or off, but I can't use my already powered up guy (well close to it at least, didn't have much use for firearms after the grenade and rocket launchers were in my cache).

I would like to. How much time do you have tonight, cuz I want to do it all in one sitting.
You can. (I think) in the Options menu turn "Crimes On".
That works with random gangsters patrolling the streets but the gang leaders won't respawn from what I've seen. The leader areas are still empty and filled with agents as well.

Overall this is one of my favorite 360 games. Very underrated IMO. I had a total blast with it. Beat it last night and I'm still playing it.
Yeah, I've been doing more messing arond and skill building than actually gettng through the game (this is "lel grinding" I can handle ;) ). But, the jury's still out on whether, after I've beaten the game, I'll keep it or trade/sell it. I've got about 0 interest in a multi-player only Beta for Halo, but we'll see.
Weren't you mad raggin' on the 360, and games like this, for that matter, just a couple of months ago?

Cowell's tower in Shai-Gen district is the easiest I think for almost all of the car achievements. Hop in the lift with a car, and ride inside the car on the way up for the Ridin' High, and then drive a little farther up to the opening in the side, and jump out with the SUV doing 2 front-flips and you should get your Hazardous Hangtime along with it.

Still trying to get my 200 foot jump coming out of the Volk tunnel from the Agency garage, but I just can't seem to hit it. =\

Use the tunnel to Los Muertos instead and hold onto the jump button when you reach the red lights in the tunnel. You should build up enough speed and height to rocket out of the tunnel and get the achievement when you land. Easy as pie. :)

The SUV fits in that lift though? It looks like it may only be small enough for a small car.

It fits, even the level 4 version of it.

Thanks guys, I got the achievements. Now I'm having a bit of trouble on the Timed Stunt Driver achievement. Any tips on that one?

That would be the 5 tricks in 60 seconds correct? Go to the beach in Los Muertos with your SUV and use the beach houses to launch yourself up in the air. Barrel roll. Rinse and repeat. There are a few houses there and they are close enough together to chain 5 tricks in 60 seconds. Launch from the ramp using the jump button as well. Remember to approach the ramp with only one side of tires (at an angle) to get the barrel roll started for you (makes it a lot quicker).

You could also go to the arena area, where all those ramps are, to get the 5 stunts in 60 seconds.

Has anyone tried to drive up Wang's tower? I tried it yesterday, on the side with the stairs, leading to the wall with the chinese characters on it. I was unsuccesful, although I did get really high up.

To get 5 tricks in 60 seconds just get a buddy to keep picking you up while in your car and throwing you, this forces you into a barrel roll.

There's one where you fall really far but don't die. I tried doing it from the place they show from the box insert, but didn't get anywhere - it was probably just some place they used for screen captures. Has anyone got this achievement, and where from?

Wait, I'm an idiot - that's Base Jumper and I had it from jumping into the water from the agency building already. Duh.
Anyone get that achievement where you fall 1000 feet and die?

I heard it was an achievement by that guy......
well i just bought this game used and it doesnt indicate on the box that it comes with a halo 3 beta invite...does it on your boxes? or was that just a little sticker on the outside of the shrink wrap if you bought it new?

Sticker on the shrink wrap.
thanks, Z

so i should have the beta invite then, i guess
Go to the main menu, and go to downloads. The Halo 3 beta should be there, but grayed out.

You should have a little Halo 3 Beta Invite in your case also. It says Congrats in big letters and it is a single piece of paper.

i didnt get the little slip pimp was talkin about, but i guess that does not matter

K i'm stumped.

I just started a few days ago, haven't played too much. Now I eliminated 6 out of the 7 Los Muertos. Here's the catch. I eliminated 5 of them, and then i was wondering around and I got a briefing for the leader of Los Muertos. I killed him. Now, I have 1 left, and it's that Gonzolez guy. How do I get the briefing for him?!

On top of that, I already got a briefing for some lady (forget her name) and she's apart of the Volt. I haven't even started that yet, and I got a briefing for it lol

So.. I'm confused :(

Check your map and look for the yellow skull(s), they reveal the location of the gang leaders. If you are not showing any yellow skulls without any X's that means you haven't unlocked or found the location. Drive around to the areas that don't have the skulls and you'll eventually find him. Same goes for any other level. You have to find them first and their location will be imprinted on your map.

Yeah! That's the thing! On my map, under Boss Selections I have 1-5, and 7 unlocked (and they are all dead!). I am missing number 6, Gonzalez. When you go to the Gang Dossier it shows 6 of their pics with Deceased on it, and the first one (under Garcia ..or whatever the leaders name is) is a "?" (but has his name)

I just need to know what I have to do in order to discover him? When it's on the map, that's easy but i need that part unlocked and I've been all around the map :(

Hey I been playing co-op campaign hosted by one of my friends. But then when I try single player campaign all the bosses are still there and not defeated. My character power ups and I think the other checkpoints carry over but not boss progress. Is this just how it is? Can I do anything about it besides beating everything all over again???

My cousin came over for my birthday today. He hasn't really played any games since the snes but he asks me about this game where you can pick "really big things up and throw them at random people." I immediatly realized he was talking about crackdown. I popped it in and he was instantly wreaking havok. He could barely control the game but was blown away by how you could run all over and do what-ever you wanted to do. This game is going to make a new gamer out of him...

ya whoever hosts the co-op game the bosses are only defeated for him. While yes it keeps track of you supply points and orbs the bosses have to be beaten on your own file.

Shai-Gen's island with only 3 stars in agility sucks, but damn was it fun figuring out the few paths I could take to get up (kinda like the agency tower, but with fewer paths) to get some orbs to push me over to 4 stars.
I still need 25 more agility orbs. I spent a few good hours yesterday searching the whole city. Damn this sux.
I need 17. I have no idea where they could be.
what do the special question mark orbs do?
They give a little bit to each stat.

And I finally got all the gamerpoints for this game. God it took soooo long.
