Crackdown - Gen. Discussion & Info

dang, i'm stuck on diaz (3rd general of los muertos)...i'm only playing on ruthless too...everytime i go up to his garage, i kill his first bar of health, then i get killed b/c there's like 50 guys shooting me at once...

any tips?

EDIT: nvm i got him...i went in that little hole

i was wondering if we can still get some of the boss' weapons if we beat the boss and forget to pick up their weapons...or are we screwed if we dont?

I think we're screwed. I had that same problem.

Co-op is awesome. First half-hour was spent throwing ducks at each other.

Anyone have the unfortunate problem of strict NAT internet service. Both my friend and I have strict NAT thru our ISPs and we can't play together thanks to the fact that strict NAT people can't even send invites out to other people now a days. And we used to be able to play together before

i dont think it matters. i have picked up only one "boss weapon" and i have all the weapons but one sniper rifle.

you should be able to get all the weapons thru regular play.

Why not fix it? It's just the IP Address that you currently have now that is strict. Here's a How To:

Some of the earlier boss weapons, become standard weapons with regular enemy thugs, specially in the district 3 (forgot the name), so you kill them and take them.

Except for the Grenade launcher, I don't think I've seen anyone use that besides that one boss dude on the beach.

Not true! Some random gang members of the Volk were on the roof attacking me, and someone had a grenade launcher :D (And yes, it IS the grenade launcher since I killed him with the rocket launcher lol)

How many weapons and grenades are there..? *REALLY HOPES THAT WASN'T ASKED ALREADY!*

Ok cool then that means that there's no Boss exclusive weapons then.

I don't know how many weapons there are, but they can be found here:
http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/file/crackdown.txt
Section 3 has a list of them.

OK, I'm stupid. How do I drive up the wall in the SUV? I have a 4 star driving rating, but I always just end up flipping backwards when it starts to climb.

I'm having the same problem. The camera switches to some horrible angle.
your at least holding b right?

and when it makes a certain sound, let off an press again. it takes some practice.
I couldn't figure out how to drive up walls either. Thanks for the help.

I just didn't want to ask and look like an idiot for not knowing.

Yeah, it's tough. For some reason I can get almost to the top of wang's building, but then I just fall off. I can't get the timing down right.

Well, I beat it today. Good time :) I'm still amazed by the draw-distance you get on the high buildings!

I don't forsee playing it too much anymore. Did just about everything I wanted to. It's on my TL now if anyone is looking to pick it up for cheaper.

So I'm thinking about picking this game up (demo was so much more fun than Legacy). How does the full game compare to the demo? I had fun with the demo, but it seemed all it was was a full-on ass kicking.

If you liked the demo, definately buy the game, its totally worth it.

Anyone have any tips on an area where I can get the 6 car stunts in 60 seconds to get the achivement?

Thanks in advance.

Definetly considering it. Basically, it's either take back Legacy and get Hitman for $0 extra, or Crackdown for $20 extra.

Thanks in advance.
The easiest way is to play a co-op game and have the other player throw you in the air, while your in a car of course, and just do a barrell roll each time. You should be able to get the achievement easily. If you liked the demo then you'll definitly love the game espeically co-op.

i just went to the beach in southern los muertos turf (after i got 4 stars on driving) with the SUV and just went over the houses on there. they have ramps that will propel you plenty if you jump with the SUV.
Still on the fence.
The grass is greener on the other side.

If I had a choice out of all the new current games out right now, I would get this.

Just beat it today on Ruthless, i'm curious, took forever to beat those last two bosses, streets were packed with hit squads the entire times.

So I was lost on the ending for those of you who finished it...

Who was the announcer stating was the bad guy? It made it seem like the cops or the Agent you were using, I got confused. Not like I was following the story line anyway.

Ha I finally got to play the demo as Crackdown came with my OXM disc and Its a lot of fun. The time limit reminds me of the time limit on GTA2, anyone got a crack lol. Yea I might get this but Its probably one of those games where when your done, your done and don't play it anymore. Hows the replay?

The agency is in turn the bad guy, they where just using you to cause mayhem through out the city. They where the ones that planted all the gangs through out the city. It would be a safe bet that crackdown 2 pits you against the agency.

well the fact that there are 500 agility orbs and 300 hidden orbs throughout the city provides a lot of longevity. Hell I just spent 3 hours this morning exploring the city looking for orbs and only found 7. Still have 14 left to find. I still have almost 100 hidden orbs left to find as well.

So when you defeat everyone and the 3 bosses and want to go looking around for things or to fuck around is there any gang members on the street?
So when you defeat everyone and the 3 bosses and want to go looking around for things or to fuck around is there any gang members on the street?
there is an option to either turn gangs on, or just free roam with gangs off.

any one want to go through the time trials today? I want to try and beat all the bosses so I can get the co-op achievement. I'll be available all day. and probably all night till around midnight.

anyone lost interest in this game? i pretty much maxed out the guy and killed the bosses. i guess if there was more of storyline it would have more replay value. the co-op s okay, justt wish they'd include a multi payer vs system in the future

we could go through the time trials and kill all the bosses.

I got bored of this game after three hours.

And then I kept playing.

I wasn't having fun, I was just playing. I figured I'd spent this much time already, I might as well nab some extra achievments... then I realized "what the fuck is wrong with me... why do I fucking care?". I'll probably keep playing it for a few more hours, simply because I'm too lazy to remove it from my game tray, and if I take it out, then I'll have to get up and put in something else.

Maybe it's time to nab a nice refreshing BC title or something. I dunno.

This game took me about four days to beat and was interesting for a grand total of about three hours.

I've come to the conclusion that this is a really lame game. I actually feel like quitting videogaming entirely after playing this. For some reason Crackdown has made the prospect of ever playing a videogame again... just revolting.

I'll give you $35 for it!

Let me be the one to heal your video game suffering ;)
how do you get this achievement

Repo Man
Commandeer 100 gang-controlled vehicles
You have to pull gang members out of their cars on the street. Its kind of hard to do because a lot of the time they jump out of their cars. I have been working on it I probably got about 20-30 pulls so far. The Volk seem easier because of the slow large vehicles they drive.

It's easy actually, just keep doing the Diaz time trial over and over.

http://www.candiedskull.com/crackdown/achieve.html

The easiest and quickest way to do this is by doing the Diaz Time Trial. There is a glitch in the game where several gangsters will just sit in their car and never move, which makes it easier to steal their car. Go into this arena, commandeer as many cars as you can, leave the arena, drive down to the barrier and back again and repeat with the respawned gangsters and their vehicles.
