[DEAD] FREE shipping & good deals on USED games from GameFly

Thanks for the heads OP! I picked up Sudeki, Thief Deadly Shadows, Spiderman 2, Astro Boy, Harvest Moon Wonderful Life, & McFarlane's Evil Prophecy. Demon Stone is tempting me, but I am gonna pass since it's over my $15 limit. :D Free shipping worked without a hitch for me on all of 'em.
i got my 1.99 refund from gamefly if u e-mail customer service.

here's what they said:

We apologize for the inconvenience. Your account will be credited $1.99 for the inaccurate charge.

Thank you,

GameFly Customer Service

if u had been charge shippin, contact gamefly for the 1.99 refund
Did they issue a credit to your debit/credit card or your GameFly account?

I sent an e-mail a couple of days ago and haven't received a response yet.
One more question. Has anyone signed up for the trail membership to save money on a purchase? How much do you save with a membership? Can you sign up for a free membership and not ask for any games and then cancel in a day or two?
on page 7:
You only get the discount after your free trial is over OR if you pre-pay the first month or two.
(the answers to both of your questions are on page 7 :)

Just wanted to second this, I also just received an email from them stating they would credit my account back the $1.99 shipping fee I was charged on my first order. Haven't checked my debit account yet, but that will take a day or two to update anyway.

I just repiled to the order confirmation email & told them of the error - easy as pie. :)

I ordered breakdown and van helsing to occupy shelf space and spend some time before re4 releases. I was also charged Shipping, but again sent them an e-mail and garnered a response saying they'd credit me it back.

Ordered Four Swords and Twin Snakes for about $40 total. I went ahead and just paid the shipping on Four Swords, rather than going through with the free trial. For that price, I don't mind the extra dollar or so.

I got free shipping on:

Fatal Frame II (XB)
Demon Stone (XB)
Bujingai (PS2)

All for about $60. Nice thanks!

Jeremy

I'm sort of wondering if all these games will ship. I see a lot of folks saying they got the same games. Since this popped up on a weekend when there was likely to be a lax eye on inventory....
Does their games come with any stickers on the disc? And do they come with case and book?
No. Yes.

No stickers, yes case and book.

Yeah I'm sort of wondering that myself. I notice that all of the games that everyone's jumping on like Manhunt, Riddick, Full Spectrum Warrior, Red dead revolver etc are all still listed on the site...you'd think they'd run out of stock on at least one of these by now.

I just received two e-mails from GameFly:

1. They fixed the shipping error and the credit was refunded to my credit card.

2. My order (Psi-Ops on Xbox) has shipped. I'll be getting it in 2-4 days.

Me 3, sans the shipping part though ( I didn't order psi ops)

I'm betting the demand for Driv3r is pretty much nil, so I imagine I'll get that, Hopefully I'll get Riddick also.

Driv3r.. the trick with Driv3r is to not expect GTA. If you expect it as a decent driving/etc like the first one was, you'll love it. I have NEVER done any missions, I love doing free ride ONLY. I love making replays and I love watching other people's replays via Live.

NONE of mine have shipped out yet :( (Manhunt, FSW, Outlaw Golf 2, Red
Dead, 007 EoN, Rallisport Challenge 2)

I bought Riddick and Manhunt. Thanks OP.

EDIT
Which other game should I get? Showdown: LoW, FSW, or The Suffering?

Depends. Showdown is a decent wrestling game featuring older games, I like it, but it's not for everyone. Full Spectrum is good, if you like that type of genre.. and Suffering, from what i've played, is delightfully fucked up. I opened a door and saw a friendly guy there and you could hear voices whispering both "let him live, he could help" and "kill him.. kill him!".. it's awesome!

Totally. It seems like it's a decent game that just had too much hype and really wasn't worth 50$, but I loved Driver 1 and figure there is no way I won't be able to get 10$ worth of enjoyment out of Driv3r.
About how long has it taken for orders to ship?
I paid on Christmas eve and it shipped out today (Monday), they estimate delivery at 2-4 days.

If you loved Driver 1 and expect the same, you will LOVE it. I LOVE the hell out of Driv3r. I got it when it was 49.99 and dumped it when price was dropping.. I was so sad to let go of it.. but I got $30 for it.. just got it again and have been playing it like crazy. I love it.

Ordered on Sunday.

1. Got the E-mail about the Credit fix for the botch in shipping on first order, a very kind and personal e-mail too. A+

2. Got another e-mail saying that both of my orders (Breakdown, and Van Helsing) were also shipped, est time is 2-4 days.

Outstanding, thinking of ordering EoN, and perhaps Manhunt as well-- Opinions?

Xbox or PS2? the Xbox version is only $8!

They have always had great service but in the past their games had not been this cheap and the fact that they make me pay sales tax normally ruins them. But these deals are great and if they keep this up they migh wind up getting all my videogame store cash!

I was going to get both games for XBox, or any other titles you guys may want to recommend. Its just outstanding that I picked up two games,: Breakdown especially, for below 20 bones. I still have a check to deposit from Christmas bonus, so a few more sub-10 or barely 10 titles can't do anything..

but expand my Xbox library and keep me happy :). Thanks again to the OP and all of those who have helped CAG newbies like myself get the most for their money.

They will refund your shipping even if you dont send them an e-mail, just go to Billing history and it will say - whatever u payed for shipping

Andrew is right- mine was corrected on my statement about 7 hours before I actually got my e-mail.

There is one psychological advantage to making each order separate, you don't realize how much you've spent until you add it up 3 days later when your checking to see if anything has shipped :p

Oh well in that case take a look at Riddick, Sudeki if you like RPGs its sure cheap enough, Red Dead Revolver, Hitman Contracts, Van Helsing. Those are all pretty good games and all are very cheap.

Was wondering why everyone was picking up Van Helsing until I checked the xbox version price, it's $6 cheaper than the PS2 version :x

Van Helsing's actually pretty good. It's like a cheap man's version of Devil May Cry, which is good, since DMC is likely to never come on the XBox.

I want to buy more games than just Riddick and Manhunt, but I am trying to resist... Too good of deals to pass up on and I just got hella Christmas money :(

Err let me re-phrase, I was wondering why everyone was picking it up from gamefly instead of ebgames.com (where it is $9.99 new) when I believed the used price for all systems was $12.99. Brain no-functionany good at 3:00 AM.

Got an e-mail from them apologizing for the S&H errror and indicating my account would be credited the $2. (I see that's already been covered on the thread, but thought I would mention it anyway.)

Sent me an e-mail late yesterday evening. Pretty quick service considering they probably didn't have anyone working before yesterday.

Good to read they are apparently doing it whether or not you e-mail them on it. (Though I don't see why anyone wouldn't have immediately e-mailed them after being charged an extra $2.)

I didn't get any e-mails yet, but I found this in my Billing History:

I assume I was given back my $2 as well?

I'm tempted to pick up some games....is Red Dead Revolver REALLY worth it? Any other XBOX games worth it? I played the Sudeki demo, just not sure if I have the time to invest in that game.

Yep, that's right. Not sure you'll get an e-mail unless you e-mailed them about it yourself.

The Suffering and Riddick are both worth $10 if you haven't played them. Breakdown is also a pretty neat game and ultra cheap ($8). I picked up both Sudeki and RDR, but since I haven't played them can't really give an opinion other than saying I thought they were worth it. I believe Everything or Nothing and Full Spectrum Warrior also got fairly good reviews.

I finished Read Dead Revlolver (PS2 version).
Its a fun and stylish game, but its pretty short. $10 is a good price for it, especially since you can likely unload it for more than you paid for it after you are finished.

Now, there you go for all of you that bitched about the $1.99 shipping on your first order you got your money back. But for those that signed up for the free trail by mistake it sucks to be you.

Yeah, free stuff really sucks.

Red Dead Revolver and Everything or Nothing are two of my surprise games of the year. I had no intention of picking either one up, but I'm very glad I did - they're both excellent shooters.

What I meant was that some people might forget to cancel the service so they will be getting charge for the rental service. When, they only wanted to buy games.
