I just ordered the 2 games at www.fye.com for those prices. I don't know if DBZ is really cheap at $19.99, but its still $39.99 everywhere else. This is online only because I called the store next to me and the prices are $49.99 for both games.

DBZ 2 http://www.fye.com/catalog/gamesProduct.jhtml?itemId=10986307

Also, I traded in a still-sealed Black & Bruised($5.99 ebgames) yesterday at the FYE store, and the manager took them back as new because it was still wrapped. He gave me $49.99 store credit for it and $19.99 each for sealed Splinter Cell($5 BestBuy) and sealed Rogue Ops($9.99 CircuitCity).
I can't imagine the amount of orders they received overnight for it so it's a little sketchy how through the night they still had stock in the morning.
i was shocked that it was still up last night, they prolly got hundreds of orders for it

Yeah but from what I've heard at least the other companies give you some kind of consolation like a coupon if they don't honor the price.

Way to go FYE?? While I appreciate the honesty, I think it's crap. If you screw up there are generally consequences to suffer....They screwed up on this one so they should either honor the price or give you a coupon or something. If this happened in store chances are the price would be honored, why should it change just because it was online?

I replied to their "sincere apology" email they sent me....maybe they'll have something interesting to say, but I'm not holding my breath.

yes!!! i've been waiting for a price drop on dbz: budokai 2 for a long time. never expected that much though, this is an awesome deal for $19.99. told my dad to place the order today, hope he does it soon. also hope this doesn't get canceled.

at least someone is still happy in this thread!

I ordered yesterday and was confirmed. However, I just got an email saying they incorrectly priced it at $9.99 instead of $49.99 yesterday and are cancelling my order! Do we have any sort of rights in this type of situation?

i may be wrong, but i thought they have to honor their error. Similar to having a sign at the store w/the wrong price on an item. They have to sell you the iteam at the wrong price no matter what.

I haven't received my cancellation notice yet, but I know it's coming.

I guess you can go with the "false advertising" complaint, but they probably have some disclaimer on their site which protects them from it.

You are wrong, sorry. They have clauses to get out of it, and I for one do not fault them for it. They would lose thousands of dollars on this if they tried to honor it, it just isn't feasable. It wasn't false advertising, it was an honest mistake, one which I am sure they would rather not have made.

So mistakes shouldn't be punished just because there is an error? If there is a pricing error in a normal B&M store then the store honors their error and gives you the item for that price, but if it's an online store they have about a million different disclaimers to get out of any situation, this is not right.

Just got my cancellation notice too, darnit! This reminds me of when BB put a new GeForce VC "on sale" for like $100 when it should've been closer to $300+. Of course they were flooded w/orders which were all cancelled later. But I do recall enough people raising a stink that they sent everyone $30 GC as a "mea culpa."

This is isn't worth it for me and I won't fight it, but if enough people complain FYE might be willing to give some kind of handout.
hey I just got an email saying that FYE has shipped out my order, and even gave me a tracking number provided by FedEx

^Its because in a B&M store they only have to deal with only a minimium number of customers, before they could fix the solution. While online they probably got bombarded by 100's of requests for this error and would lose a ton of money if they honored them all before they corrected the problem. I see the point for all the disclaimers and am glad that FYE responded so quickly to the situation. In the FF:CC topic the majority of people wanted the error handled like FYE handled this one and not get the run around. It seems no matter what these online stores do there will always be some disgruntled customer.

I still haven't received an email from them yet, but my status page now shows it shipped with a Federal Express tracking number. Yet, the amount charged to my credit card still shows $0.00.

Thats not true that a B&M store has to honor a price mistake. If they post some deal in a flyer and it gets misprinted they are not obligated to honor it. Also if say an employee just tags something wrong and then you go to ring it up and they notice...they sometimes honor the mistake only because its for ONE person and then they walk over and correct the mistake. They cant honor this price for just one person and correct it for all the rest. We all bought them at once basically.

Stop the whining and wait for the next deal. This happens all the time.

I'm tired of all the whiners who complain when a company makes a pricing mistake, especially on the internet, and then the company corrects the error and doesn't honor the wrong price.

Look, getting a deal due to computer/company/human error is like sex. When you get it unexpectedly, it's terrific. But if the other party leads you to believe one thing and say 'oops, made a mistake', you can't force them to follow through. In one case, it makes you look spoiled and in the other, you're a rapist.

How's that for blunt?

lol "eatmyshorts," best of luck to everybody else. i hope many CAGers snuck in on this deal.

I just got the same email - that they shipped out my order.

I wonder why they are honoring some of the orders and canceling the others.

They cancel all the Order cuz Fatwallet effect & Alot people take advatage of the deal buy more than 1 copy then sell it on ebay or trade-in for extra $$$.

Ohhh well.... PLEASE don't BRING good deal like this to "FATWALLET" again they'll hammer it the deal DEAD very QUICK !!!

:)

I only ordered one copy. Plus, I ordered it right around the time CheapyD posted it on his site. That might be why I'm getting it???

I put in an order about half an hour after you, MasterKyo, and mine got cancelled. Plus I ordered the less suspect game. I imagine order fulfillment will be hit and miss.

hey psyclerk, you got the cancellation e-mail right? did you check on their website to see what it says? i tried mine, but i dont have my order number and after they e-mailed me the cancellation notice, i just deleted all their e-mails.

I don't have my order number with me at work. I won't be able to check on their 'order status' page until I get home. Gimme 3 hours.

edit: I'm showing some charges on my card, but since they haven't posted yet, I can't see what they are (have ordered several things this week). However, this could mean nothing, since I've found that a lot of companies doing online business don't know how to properly cancel charges.

Mine shipped too...
I work at the bank that issued the card I charged to, so I checked it straightaway - $14.12 total with shipping came out.
This makes no sense - why are they saying they're not honoring price on some and filling others?
Oh well - a good find, thank you to the original poster.

Just for a yuck I sent them the following e-mail throwing out a few buzzwords like discrimination and fair business practice, I don't expect them to do anyting, but I think it's amazing that businesses feel they can do things in a completely half-assed sort of way without giving valid or completely truthful explanations...

This seems a little strange as several others who were also charged this price have had their item shipped to them and their credit card charged the reduced amount.

Since this is not a very fair business practice, and you seem to be selectively choosing who receives the reduced price and who doesn't, I have to think there is some sort of unfair or discriminatory practice going on here.

You still have the game in stock as you are still selling them, please explain to me in DETAIL why my order will not be shipped when so many others were?

You sent me a confirmation e-mail verifying my purchase which I have attached below...again, I urge you to let me know why my order specifically was canceled when others were sent out without a problem. Why discriminate against me and the order I placed, especially when you still have the game in stock? I'm beginning to think something a little underhanded might be going on here.
Everyone's order has been canceled..nobody will be receiving Mafia.
Look at previous posts. Some folks are saying their order status shows 'Shipped' and credit cards have been charged the reduced price.
Cruster, when did you place your order?
I got mine in right after the deal went up on the front page - according to FYE that was at 5:01p on the 15th.

I know the whole thing seems dodgy at this point, but they have already hit my card for the agreed amount, so I consider this a closed sale. If they try to change the rules now I'm going to make some shizz happen.

As happy as I am to have gotten in on this deal, it's the first and last time I would order from them, seeing how they're handling orders. I wouldn't bitch and whine and say they screwed me over if they had cancelled the order and refused to honor the price, but it's crappy customer service and crappy business practice. You make the mistake, you gotta deal with the consequences. Seeing that they are cancelling other CAG'ers orders...screw 'em.
