Yeah, that might be the reason I get it as well. I am lacking arc damage in everything except machine guns so if we get an Arc Burn Nightfall it would be nice to have something. I guess with so many coins I can pick it up - don't have to level it up all the way.AngryDragon888 said:I bought the patience and time simply because it has arc damage. I have primary weapons with solar and void and several special weapons with solar and void as well. However, I am really lacking when it comes to arc damage. Prior to buying patience and time I only had a fusion rifle that does arc.
I'm up for that or my save at the Gatekeeper if you guys don't mind backtracking one (hopefully quick) portion. I'm free tonight after the kids do their Halloween thing. So I imagine I'll be free around 8pm Pacific if you guys can hold off until then.bear489 said:I still have my save point for the final boss. Im up to finish that tonight or start over.
Yeah, that's the way the groups I've been in have done it... at least when we weren't trying for the old Atheon cheese methodAlso, on that cheesing video it shows something that I didn't know about until the other day. I didn't realize the Relic cleanse was also a shield you could shoot out of. Apparently a lot of people use that against Atheon (not for cheesing but just for regular shooting). We've always just spread apart and shot him from different places. But that way the Supplicants can wreak havoc on us. In any case, it looks like the cheese method is simply to bubble shield on the small platform near the beginning and he just comes towards you and falls off? We need to get a hard mode Atheon save and try that guys! Dude also got the helm and the Vex Mythoclast from that - lucky bastard.
Wait, so there's also a bonus from shooting inside the bubble? Or is it just a Time's Vengeance bonus? FYI - I was getting 20,000+ hits with my Icebreaker (during Time's Vengeance) from a corner nowhere near the Relic holder.aFrostyONE said:Yeah, that's the way the groups I've been in have done it... at least when we weren't trying for the old Atheon cheese method.
And before the patch, the relic holder would count down 'til the end of the timer and everyone would bug out with about 3 seconds left in order to have your teleport team in position.
Now with the random teleport, everyone should just stay in the bubble until the bubble juice runs out, then scatter. It may only be a few seconds difference but those extra seconds of AMP'd weapons could mean one less teleport.
What I don't know for sure is the amount of damage multiplier you get from shooting inside the relic bubble, as in is it consistent across ALL weapon types.
I want to say it's a 6x multiplier because my maxed Ice Breaker would do 2k+ on crit hits, but the same shot from inside the bubble would ping 13k+
I haven't tried with other weapons cuz well... there's so little time to go swapping weapons.
The guys I've run it with always made it sound like the relic bubble boosted your attack as well as it protecting you.Wait, so there's also a bonus from shooting inside the bubble? I'm not sure the bubble helps with attack but I guess it keeps you from getting hit by Atheon and supplicants which would be the real advantage. I never knew it was a shield and/or that you could shoot out of it. I thought it was just a cleanser.
It's not only two of the best drop spots but it's also basically impossible to fail that section on hard because you can easily cheese the oracles and the templar. So it just free drops for 5-10 minutes of barely any work if you put together a group on hard for the oracles/templars then you also get the 3 chests just after. That's why everyone is always looking for it.On the fireteam finder sites there are a LOT of people looking for hard mode Oracle saves so that is a valuable thing I guess (since some of the good gear comes from the next 2 checkpoints). We really ought to try it, at least, this weekend. Would that reset on Tuesday or would I still be there?
How do you cheese the Oracles? While I always thought that part was a bit easier than the section before it, there is still the sniping hobgoblins and such. We also won't get the chests afterwards if we've done it on Normal this week (which most of us have I think). But that's OK - I just want to try it and if possible get the two checkpoint rewards. It's not only two of the best drop spots but it's also basically impossible to fail that section on hard because you can easily cheese the oracles and the templar. My two other characters I just started and both are level two so I don't think that would work. My friend that wants to give it a shot has a 29 warlock and 28 hunter so he could possibly do it. I think we'll both be on after 7 central if we can throw a group together. How do you cheese the Oracles? I have to take my son to his basketball game but will be back around 4pm Pacific if we want to do it then. We should trade the save around first so that we can run it twice with different characters if possible. I could give it to Gott and Moose on their alternate characters for example, then load my level 30 Titan and get it from one of them for him as well. If someone uses a true alternate character that they don't run through the Raid then we could have that checkpoint saved for next week as well.
Those are all solar so you'd need other burns no?Are there any weapons worth getting with vanguard marks? I already have Vison of Confluence, Ice Breaker and Hezen Vengeance so I feel like I'm pretty set for now, but I'm up against the 200 mark limit and have to get something. Or should I just get some armor pieces to deconstruct into shards?
I'm thinking it involves keeping snipers up on the spawn point (at least two, 3 better) and hopefully they have maxed out Ice Breakers. The rest go down to manage the oracles that are hidden in the far back on either side. How do you cheese the Oracles? Yea I have Shadow Price maxed out based on your recommendation, that is my primary weapon for now until I can max Vision of Confluence. Got the Vanguard too from an engram, I think. I have an Arc Light/Beware (fusion rifle), but I guess I should try to fill in some gaps I have with void and arc damage on the Special & Heavy. Those are all solar so you'd need other burns no?
The Swarm is a good void heavy to get. I think the arc sniper the vendor sales is decent and the Shadow Price is one of the better regular legendary autos alongside the Vanquisher.
That time works out better for me. My kids should all be in bed by 8pm eastern so I'd like to join if you have a spot.I haven't seen anything from the Vanguard marks that is better than stuff I've gotten from the Raid or Nightfall (or just random drops).
It turns out I have to do some shopping after the game so I won't be back until 5-5:30pm Pacific or so. But at that point I should have whatever time we need (maybe to run it twice?).
I am a fan of The Devil You Know, which is a hand cannon. I bought it at one point when I was high on marks as well. It does not have any elemental damage on it, but it seems to tear through stuff pretty damn fast. Are there any weapons worth getting with vanguard marks? That's a tough call. It kind of depends on the weapon. I have some legendary weapons I prefer over exotics. You also can only have one exotic equipped at a time. So if you find a legendary weapon you like go ahead and upgrade it. If you have an exotic helmet I would upgrade that first.Do you guys recommend using shards and energies to upgrade the legendary weapons and armor? Or is it best to hold on to them for exotics?
Everyone stays up top and never jumps down. You can spread out and hit all the oracles from up there. One guy has to scoot way over to the right as far as he can and he's the only one who can hit the back left oracle so he's gotta be paying attention to that. Snipers will shoot at you every now and then but for the most part you're completely safe up there. To trigger the section to start a warlock can jump down to his death and self rez back up there or there is a way for someone to jump down and take a path back up although I'm not 100% sure how it's done, I've never had to take the path back up but I've seen people do it.How do you cheese the Oracles? your save will reset on tuesday with everything elseWe tried to do it with 3 people down below and 3 up top. After several tries we decided to try to have 5 up top and one down to trigger. We couldn't ever get to a spot where we could see that one left of center oracle. But then someone jumped down and found a spot somewhere down there to hide and take out that one Oracle and we finally got it done.
And yeah, we did get extra stuff from that one chest (but not the non-teleporting one).
Since I have the save on my Titan we can try it again next week after we do another normal run. I'll probably want to run it on my Warlock again so maybe we can do some more passing of the save around. We need to keep that thing going!
There is some way to maintain it though, right? I know people have mentioned some way of doing that. I'll look into it.your save will reset on tuesday with everything else![]()
Maybe in the same way you can claim bounties and then grab another pair after restarting your console after the 2 am reset each morning? So you hang out at Atheon when the reset happens and then pass it to someone whose console has already updated? Not sure if this is validThere is some way to maintain it though, right? Edit: Hmmm... Can't find anything. Well, if you guys are up to do it again on alternate characters, perhaps, I'd like to run it with my Titan. I think we know how to do it quickly now. Is anyone available early tomorrow - say 1-2 pm Pacific or so?
Well, yeah, I do. I can get on right NOW and run through it quickly. Or if anyone is willing to hop on at 2am Pacific on Tuesday and grab it from me we can save it for next week.RADa5AURU5 said:Does anyone still have the oracle save on hard?
