Destiny (PS3/PS4) Official Thread

Nah, I got plenty of Exotic Armor, was wondering about new Queen's Armor in the PoE chests. (yes, I know you get the ascendant mats. in 34 & 35, but was wondering about new armor pieces.)

 
I feel like a proper idiot. I went 9-1 (actually 9 wins with no boons) but I could have gone 9-0 if I had bought that one mercy boon. The best match I had in ToO was 19 kills 4 deaths 10 revives. I got like 2 etheric lights from the packages and some level 34 (light 46) boots along with the light 46 chest plate.
 
Hello all, I've got destiny for awhile now but never really got into it until recently when I finally finished the story and hit lvl 20. I'm now lvl 28 and looking for people to do daily/weekly/nightfall/raid with. add me on PSN: luan87us

Ditto. I always have 2 solid people and have to solicit at the reef to get a third. I swear it's like they never played PvP before. Run out into open areas, break away from the group, never revive, don't communicate.....I never knew it would be so hard to get 3 people online at the same time.
 
So I'm suffering the same as Seven said with fucking scolas... We have killed him 3 times and the mines killed us... The waiting for the heavy sinth is just unbearable

Playing with people you know are good is way better. Ran a passage with another CAG tonight that's good at pvp and we got 5 wins. Technically could've had 7 if I had enough coins to get buffs, but I spent them all earlier.
 
Man, I didn't even get in on some ToO or a level 32 PoE this weekend. Having HoW release before Memorial weekend was nice but it sure made it tough to play longer sessions with plans and interruptions throughout the past few days. I have all three guardians at level 32.5 (I suppose that's technically a level) so that'll have to suffice for now.

I'm still pretty sucked into playing Destiny and trying to attain those exotic weapons I'm missing. Plus the new crucible maps feel pretty fresh and are fun. I'm curious which HoW map they'll pick for ToO next weekend, either way at least I know the new maps well enough after playing a lot of Skirmish this weekend.

Also, how do some people not understand the point and helpfulness of reviving a teammate!?! So frustrating. And I swear the amount of tea-bagging has shot up lately. Not that I care, but it's funny when the players with a 0.5 kdr are the ones that end up doing it the most.

Ran trials with 7th and one of my other friends twice this week. The first time we broke up with me at 6-2 after using all the buffs. The second time I picked 7th up after winning one game with the same friend and a guy from Reddit who dced and couldn't rejoin. We went 4-1 after that with everyone using the 2 for 1 buff to get credit for 5 wins and booked it back to the tower to buy our gear after that. We actually had to win the last game super fast so 7th could get his 5th win in time. We rushed the same way every round and finished the match in less than 5 minutes. After that we hopped back in to see if it would let us keep going if we were already in before the reset and it did, but our passage got reset.

I also tried to run trials 3 other times with randoms and never got past 2 wins.

 
I've been really sick (again) the last couple days. Played maybe 45 minutes of video games. Barely played Destiny all weekend. But I did just check the app to find that the Prison of Elders armor this week is a chest piece. I wonder how many people who grinded Trials are pissed about that.
 
Ran the 32 POE last night with arjay ignatia last night and had a good time. I would like to do the POE 32 today to get the chest piece and nightfall. I will be available around 5:30 pm cst this evening.

Im excited because as good as i am in PVE, I suck equally in POO so I need it. I got to lvl 33 yesterday Matt. Come to find out i never used my exotic shard on my helm which had me stuck on 32 this entire time. I figure with the BP this week and if they do the legs next week, I'll be 34

I wasn't feeling great when we played with Revan on Saturday, and it got progressively worse after that. Looked for you on Sunday but you were on other games, which I think you already told me you would be. I'm just glad I didn't end up having to bail on somebody mid-game.

I'm in the same situation you described with my main character. Just need that chest piece and 1 Etheric Light to hit 34. Still need to do all those story missions with my Hunter. I had big plans for Destiny over the 3 day weekend and that just didn't happen.
 
I had a sinus headache almost all weekend myself. After we made that shitty run on Osiris, i was down for the count the rest of the day and most of Sunday. I'm not very happy that I didnt get in 1 raid or finish the nightfall this week. However I did really well on POE 32 last night (114 kills 1 death). However, I did get lvl 33 had fun playing with CAG people and love the expansion

I still cant believe the zone we were in. It actually felt like i was playing normal PVP the way we were taking down teams in less than 20-30 seconds per round. Getting that warlock chest piece with 4 minutes before reset was so close lol. Thanks again for the invite, i really hadnt played that much of Trials until sunday and then monday and thats when i think i started to get more comfortable with the mode. I usually play control only, but this mode type is really fun, kind of reminds me of gears of war with the elimination style.

After all that what does Destiny do, sell chest pieces in the POE vendor. :nottalking: Why couldnt he sell boots so i didnt have to use etheric light to get to 34?

 
So while I was spending my time trying to beat skolas I declined a group of friends for ToO (one of them was really good) just to find out that the made the 9-0... and they even waited for me for about 15 minutes (took us 1 hour to beat skolas), at least with that armor core I could buy the arms for my warlock and now it is lv 31

 
I looked a few times and never saw anyone on that was only 32 everyone I saw was 33 or 34 and doing trials or 35 prison...so I didnt get my warlock to 33 :(

I think at this point there is almost too much to do each week on 3 characters unless you are at it like a full time job. 

I'll probably do NF, Weekly, and 28 or 32 prison. I think I need more keys for this week...I'm down to 2 or 3.

How long on average is it taking you guys to do 34 or 35 prison? I'm not playing anything that requires a break and a nap LOL

 
Agreed, but too much is far better than not enough. Health permitting, I would like to do the Nightfall and Level 32 PoE. I'd be fine with playing 28 just to pop the chest easily, but I need that armor core from 32 for that chest armor. Also would love to at least run the checkpoints in the raids that could drop Exotics.
 
If its just whatever mode you do first gives the best chance for an exotic I'd just do 32 since you get extra rewards. The only advantage to doing 28 is its easy and matchmaking so if you cant find anyone to run 32 at least you can pull the chest.

Ideally I'd be doing 34 with my 33 characters but I only did one attempt and after 2 hours someone bailed. So my faith in humanity was shaken  :-({|=

I can wait a couple weeks to reach 34 and then just do the 34 I guess...or 35 if I feel sick in the head. If its like hard crota...there really isnt any reason to do it since you can get the stuff from other modes just a little more slowly. I dont even care about an emblem or shader like I do gear and weapons. 

I did have a bit of luck I got my warlock to 11 in New Monarchy and got the Nefertiti shader and new gauntlets. I was so sick of those crota shoulder pads!

 
Did get the Trials chest piece for two of my toons. But was burned out by the time I got to my hunter.

So, two guys are at 34 and I could get my hunter to 34 too, if I use 2 Etheric light but gonna hold off and try to get the new armor from Variks. Really want to save as many EL's as possible for weapons.

Also got a purple engram that decoded into the Nighthawk helm ( which made my Xur'nd one obsolete). Back to leveling that bad boy. A buddy was doing 33k crits during a PoE run on Uxxor using that.

And the amount of gear I'm getting is bordering on absurd. It's not so much that it's great gear, but the whole re-forge potential has me holding off on deleting stuff until I get a chance to research. I may go back to my old ways and delete pretty much everything that doesn't have a special burn. May need to delete some rarely used triplets as well.

Oh and emblems, sheesh. They're just crapping them out at this point.

Haha, funny you say that... this DLC has really fragmented my groups.

Seems like there's always at least one guy left out or we end up a man short.

And unlike the raids, we gotta do PoE several times per toon if we want ALL the guaranteed drops.

Some of my favorite moments came right before HoW dropped. Seeing 6-7 players take on the Wolves' dropship was simply awesome. Too bad it was short-lived.

 
I ran one NF solo this afternoon since trying to find a LFG group was taking too much time and everyone else looked busy. I forgot how hectic Tuesdays are with everyone posting on both LFG sites. I ended up getting an Etheric Light after taking down Sepiks Prime and did a few fist pumps to celebrate (finally something good from a NF). That strike is pretty easy to do but the first part with the three waves is the worst and most tedious part.

I still have two more NFs to run but I'm not sure when I'll have time. If anyone still needs to do them feel free to join me if you see me on running them solo, I don't mind. I wanted to sign up for The 100 group NF run but I didn't think I'd be available unfortunately. 

So now to get everything done in a week you almost need to set a schedule to complete everything. Especially if you have three guardians. Good grief. I'm up for running a VoG HM or regular Crota's End some time this week if anyone feels up to it.

 
Got the Peregrine Greaves from one of my nightfalls. I beat the 34 and ended up getting worse versions of the new titan exotic gloves and queen's scout rifle then the ones I got last week when I popped the chest.
 
I did a Poe on 34 last night and got the titan Lighthouse helmet. So im seeing a lot of exotic armor dropping from 34. IMO thats my go to level if im going to use a key, unless i run 35. The last boss seemed pretty hard. We did a bubble in front of the door we run out and just gjallarhorned him with weapons of light, not sure if WoL works or not. We had two warlocks able to res if we died within the detainment shields to finish him off, but we just beat him as those shields came up. This fight is worse in terms of waiting for supers than level 35 boss because your super recharge rate is decreased.

Please Xur sell gauntlet engrams this week!

I'll run a Crota or VOG with you. My primary weapons are still lacking and I like raiding.

Still need 1 nightfall and at least one 32 POE on my warlock...then I'm up for whatever raids, POE 34, farming keys...

 
Easy question for most. I have completed the 32 POE and do not think I'm ready for 34. I have 4 treasure keys atm, should I do anymore POE with my 33 Hunter this week or even a 28 POE?  I'm not very happy with my primary weapons still

 
Did three NF and the only exotic I got was the Skull of dire ahamkara (wish I already ve) then just two legendary weapons that I also have... did two PoE lv 32 to get my warlock lv 33 (woo hoo!) but what I really want to get for my warlock is the purifier robes or the LBN helmet, is there any chance of getting exotic armor from the lv 28/32 chests of PoE? I really don't want to do the lv 34 since I hear that the final boss fight can take hours because of the heavy weapon and the super cooldowns... I'd rather play skirmish or farm keys that spend hours on that.

And lv 35 skolas is completely off the table... I cant imagine trying to kill that dude with arc damage :/

It's hard to get to level 34 unless you do PoE 34. I would suggest you do VOG on hard and try to get some of the primary weapons from that. They're still some of the best legendary weapons you can get in destiny.

First time everyone beat 34 PoE we all were only 33 anyway so it is very doable. I totally agree here with jgu though to score some of the VOG weapons as they do work. Really though Abyss Defiant and Oversoul Edict all are pretty effective with the burns if you don't have anything better and those are pretty easy to score with how simple it is to cheese the beginning of Crota's End.

The way my team did it didn't rely on supers. Run to the left and clear out adds. Because I was the only 34 I ran shotgun and was the person who killed the qodron eye everytime. When the detainment shield occurs, we grouped up and 4-6 shotguns shots clear all of our shields. If one or two player get downed we wouldn't revive him until the detainment shields were up, that way we always have at least one person who isn't affected by it and who can live for another round. The other players damaged the boss when they weren't being shot at and I would gjally whenever heavy ammo dropped.

Also shooting the head off of the eye always made him run towards us, so we wouldn't have to worry about him hiding up where the boss is.

Having one warlock with rez is also important but we didn't use the rez on the final run. Golden gun and the titan bubble help generate a lot of orbs for the rez ability in the off chance the group ever needs it/uses it and needs to be refilled. The most annoying part were the yellow bar hobgoblins.
