my eb better have it in today, or they're gonna be dealing with an angry asian male :hot:
English major?

Bah, hope they are still in stock at CC tomorrow. Too lazy to go out today and don't want to fight the crowds (Pokemon + Wii = disaster).

Where do we find our friend code in game, I can't seem to find one. The GTS rocks though, I traded a starly for a Chimchar, good stuff. Though the name is in Japanese, I'll just breed it later whatever

This game is pretty great. For some reason, I can't stand having two pokemon of the same type on my team. Like, I really want to have a budew on my team, but it feels weird having two grass pokemon.

Hmmmm When I went to pick up my preorder copy at CC today they turned down soo many people that wanted to buy it. The guy said they only got enough to fill the pre orders. I felt bad for all the people who wanted to buy it. This doesn't sem right. Why would they only get a small amount in?

When you enter a pokemon center, go down the first stairs to the right to get the wifi link up trading/battling. The woman on the right will give you your friend code.

Local trading can be done at the first pokemon center i think. You go upstairs to the pokemon center union room. Once you enter others can connect to you and they show up in that room. Talk to them for trades options etc.

I don't have a ride to Target! It is a 6 mile walk (total) to get there. It would be a LOT of exercise, plus I could get it now instead of Wednesday with 2-day shipping (yay for trial Amazon Prime!) from Amazon. Decisions, decisions.

6 miles? Is there no metro bus you can take? Or anyone else who can give you a ride?

I don't think a 6 mile walk is worth it.

3 Miles there and 3 miles back isn't too bad. If you have friends take one of them with you. I remember the journeys to Funcoland when I was 15. Good Times. If you can take a friend I say go for it.

Got it and the guide at Target. There's a lot of shit before Gym 1 though, which is where you get the item that lets you wifi trade. I don't know if I'm really interested in doing that- I might just do wifi trading and try that route.

I'll probably start with Chimchar, even though it makes the first two gyms hell.

Second gym is grass.
Second gym is grass.
:whistle2:o

Hasn't it been water in all the other games?

That's odd, but I'm glad they're changing it up.

You guys think the guide is needed? I don't want to be completely lost, but I also don't want to be that dweeb that pulls out a guide for 30 seconds and checks it every 5 or 6 minutes to make sure they're doing everything right.
is there a way to change your pokemon's name long after you've caught it?
Each game thus far has had a Name Changer in one of the towns.

You could always bike there. My gamestop is almost that far away from me at school, but I just biked over there this morning and picked up my Diamond version from Gamestop. I also picked up the mic headset because I had a lot a of store credit. Ready for smack talking I guess

I just bought my copy...and it's awesome....I chose Piplup as my starter...I was debating on wheather to get the guide but decided not to...now to play pokemon all day :}

I chose Piplup too and just finished the first gym. Now, unfortunately, I have a test tomorrow which I must study for. I know I will be so tempted to play!!!

I don't mean to offend anybody here but it amazes me that people still get excited about playing a Pokemon game. Apparently there is still a huge fanbase and I'm not just talking about kids here. No wonder Nintendo keeps churning them out. :whistle2:k

Like they say, you learn something new everyday.

What is it about this game that gets you motivated to "catch them all" time and time again?

For me, it's because it brings back memories and it's a format that works everytime...much like the 2d castlevania series. I know i'm going to enjoy it even though I know the whole story. I think i sunk like 140 hours into the original and that was back when I was in middle school.

To me, Pokemon is the perfect handheld RPG game.

I think the main things that draw me in are completing the actual stories of the game, and more importantly battling with others. There are so many combinations to use that it never gets old.

You don't need to beat the first gym to trade online with someone you know - you just have to get to the Oreburgh Pokemon Center. Head to the basement, get your friend code, etc.

Looks like underleveling might work. ;)

I'll probably have something like 3 hours before Gym 1, since I'm being lazy and letting the game sit while I do other things, like type this post.

I'm also taking the time to find a Shinx with Intimidate instead of Rivalry.

I'll post my friend code soon. We should really start a system for getting all starters. By Tuesday I should have extra Tutwigs and that Penguin hopefully.

Does anyone know the exact times that Morning, Midday, and Night start and end? It'd be nice to know so I know when to look for certain pokemon.

Does anyone want to try out wifi trading right now? I have a kadabra that needs evolving
Hohez is awesome and my kadabra is evolved. If any one adds my friendcode give me a PM
