Hmm. Once I get over this hump I should enjoy the game more- right now, having 2 disobedient Pokemon (and a slow-to-level Abra) is rather annoying. But once I get past Gym 2 it'll be better.

Its only one pokemon that gets to hold it but it works pretty good with, as other have said, a strong pokemon doing the battles.

Ive leveled up my abra with my prinplup doing all the battling. Now my abra is a kadabra.

True, but that's something I'd only wanna do later in the game. At this point I'm gonna need a full, well-rounded squad.

EDIT: Glad to hear that JokerCard. I'll get the exp. share when I start playing again in about two hours.

I can finally get my Gyrados now :D
 
I cant believe I played 8 hours and only have 2 badges.....I should get another before they turn on me.....i mean disobey me
 
Hell, I've played 6 hours with 0 badges (almost have the first). I'm going to half ass my way to badge 2 so my pokemon start obeying me.

Hell.....lol....I have no idea.....all I know is a asked around or did something and got it.....I rarely remember where I get the stuff.....all the towns look alike to me...sorry bout that......

EDIT: O and im looking for a Dustox by the end of the day.....anyone have one or extras they dont need.
 
Hey AK, can you get on wifi in maybe 5 or 10 minutes? My Abra is almost a Kadabra, and I'd like to get that Alakazam.

Professor Rowan's Assistant will give it to you at the gate leading to Route 206 after you get the Bicycle

I just evolved my magikarp to a gyrados and i'm close to leveling my machop to a machoke. Pretty soon if anyone is available I'll trade my machoke so it can evolve into a machamp.

Oh and my friend code is 4510 6950 4127.
 
Sorry watching heroes, and my brother is using my ds.....would do the wifi thing though.....could use my kadabra to evolve as well
 
it's all about the early grinding to get those evolution's coming.

hm, just wondering, does anyone here EV train or do you wait till breeding to do so?

Increase Pokéball success rate

Near the end of the game, a random NPC informs you that if the player speaks "GOTCHA!" into the microphone at the moment the Pokéball makes contact with the Pokémon, the success rate is doubled.
This secret works throughout the game.

Once I get my first fossil poke, i'll prolly SR til i get one to ev train. I have the fossil, just need to revive it at the museum. OMG the underground shouldn't be this early in the game, I've been down there for two hours.

I wait until after I have bred and then do more EV training and then more breeding.
 
It sounds like you guys are really grinding through the game...I am worried that by the time I start to trade or do battle a lot of you folks will be done with the game cuz you'll have everything.

Should I be worried?

yeah, it's the ultimate side-quest and it keeps me playing... s'how i spent 200 hours on sapphire so far...

I just finished my third badge. My starter is lv 48 or something, but it's that high because I've been solo-ing the game so far. The rest of my team is level 20-ish, though they're just wild pokemon around the area.

I need to acquire the other 2 starters somehow. Hopefully, when I return from the library and turn on my DS, someone is gonna do that trade on GTS so I can get a Chimchar.

Yea, I was thinking of snagging this through Buy.com (can't really beat $24 after GCO), and I realized everyone would already be level 50 - 60 before I even got it, so online battling would never happen... but I guess that's what the Wii one is for, right?

Is there a way to turn off the voice chat? Not really interested in chatting it up (I'm not a big fan of voice chat anywhere).
 
I have Diamond as well.

I dont have any headset. I've held a few conversations with suko (Yay for new acquaintances through Pokemon) with just the DS, and they've been fine on my end.

Tomorrow I'll get badge 1 and hopefully badge 2, and list some stuff on the GTS, maybe.

i dunno that you can completely turn it off, but you can always jsut bottom out the ds volume. Cant hear anything then and trades dont take long.

As far as will people still be playing the game. i have a feeling as deep as this game is there will be people posting in these threads often, for months to come.

Hopefully Buy.com still has them in stock tomorrow... I just got my $15 rebate from Paypal which I'll slide into my bank account to get this, so it's technically like I'm getting the game for only a few dollars.
 
i got Pearl, but havent gotten far enough to get any pearl exclusives yet...currently trying to get a piplup and trying to find where i can trade the machop for an abra....or if anyone has one for trade

Ponyta, Ghastly, Murkrow, Zubat, others. Some were lvl 21 and higher without getting hit. It does work.

awesome deal for you. i picked it up at bestbuy after PMing circuit city's ad, having it come out to $30 total. with 3 rewardzone certificates and a $15 giftcard, i paid about $0.03 for it. not bad at all.

anyways, with the whole 'people will be at lvl 50~60' thing, i'm sure by the time you'll be playing, people will be starting up new teams at your level. you can't go wrong with pokemon, after all... there's just too much to do!
 
I was saying gotcha after the ball hit the pokemon, maybe that's why it didn't work. You gotta say it before it hits 'em?
