Like, when you look at your registered friend codes, you'll notice that some people are dressed differently. I asked a buddy of mine how that works and he told me there was some guy who you talk to in a pokecenter that'll change your clothes. But if none of this was true I wouldn't be too surprised. :lol:

I have actually heard about this as well, but I have not tried it.

If anybody knows, or if you figure this out, please post for the rest of us.

It's true. You only get to pick from 4 though, it's based on your Trainer ID. The city is Oreburgh.

Maybe one of the more experienced breeders could clear it up for me, but it IS possible to get a female from breeding a male with a Ditto isn't it? I know the rates suck with some, but I just seem to have no luck whatsoever.

It's possible, but it also depends on what you're breeding. Some pokemon have a 50:50 distribution on genders but others, especially Eevees, Combees and Starters are skewed towards males. You're breeding starters and Eevees right now right? That would be the source of your frustration right there
 
Yeah, mostly starters atm - don't have an Eevee yet, on the lookout tho. The 1/8 chance for starters is just horrible. 3 badges to go tho, so at least I have something else to do and don't have to worry too much about how crazy I want to get into breeding the best team. ;)
 
Is there a point to the underground once you've maxed out your hold of gems? The treasures are so rare it doesn't seem worth it, and I don't see anything to do with my gems... :/
 
I've noticed that after I beat the game it seemed like more treasure was appearing. I'm up to my ears in Fire, Thunder and Sun Stones as a result, and have found most of the fossils from the other games. Some times you just have to be a little patient
 
I'm all for being patient, but I just don't want to sift through all the gems if I can't carry them. I mean I've only found one hiker who will take them, so I don't know what the use of them is other than doing nothing. That just discourages me from mining since most of the things I find I can't even take!
 
There is more than one hiker, their selection changes daily, and I stopped digging out spheres a long time ago (I just ignore them while digging.) I buried a bunch, and figured I'll dig 'em up in a week or so. I haven't been underground for a few days, but mostly I look for evolution stones, plates, shards, revives, etc.
 
I've found one Skull Fossil, one Plate, and some hold item... and I think a few Heart Scales.

I might start burying all my spheres.
 
Well, yay, I finally bought Diamond. :) My first Pokemon title. Bought the guide and headset, too (traded in Madden and Super Monkey Ball for Wii to get those two items). Excited!

How is everybody coming along with their lineup? I am starting to think of the kind of lineup I want to do for a possible tournament for CAGs.


For right now I am thinking of the possible divisions. Of course how many is in each division will depend.

First there should some for the people who want every Pokemon allowed (none cheated of course) and some for those who want Legends kept to a minimum. There can be in each category a division for level 100 Pokemon, level 50, and maybe even a special level 10 just to see some interesting Pokemon put out there. I think people should be able to enter as many of them as possible. If there is sufficient interest 2 v 2 will be included somewhere.

When the time rolls along I will make a signup thread for the tournament so keep a look out for that. I just need to know how much time everybody needs.

I need FEEDBACK!!!

Yes they do, as do EVs. Evolution for the most part simply entails a stat redistribution/boost an altered movelist be it by level or selection and on occasion a new type. The basic pokemon is the same
 
If I were to join one, I would really like it if legendary were banned. It would level the playing field more, I think.

Hopefully there will be enough people so we can make some for people who want legendaries and those who do not (such as yourself).

How much time do you need and what levels would you like to participate at? 100? 50? 10?
 
personally, it would take a week for me to put together a good team I had in mind. But I'm sure there are more people who have completed the game and are working on good teams. If I we're to give it a shot, I would probably enjoy the level 30-50 range. And if legendaries are in, I would expect to only see Palkia, Dialga, Uxie, etc... Not including the ones we are supposed to get from events. Because as far as I know, the only way to get the event legendaries right now is through AR.

Oh yeah, one last question, when breeding pokemon, say a pikachu, does the egg hatch into Pichu? or a Pikachu?

There is no telling when this would happen so you may have plenty of time. I am just trying to get the general sense of how long it would take everybody. We could have the lower tournaments sooner if people want that. I think for level 100 we need at least a month for the slower people.

As for the Legendaries, the ones that are banned outright even in the Legendary Tournament are those unobtainable in normal game play. Every other form of stat enhancement is totally banned as well.

You breed two Pikachu/Raichu.

If the baby form was introduced in the G/S/C generation then breeding of any sort will produce the baby form. So Jynx, Magmar, Electabuzz, Hitmonlee/chan/top, Pikachu, Cleffairy, and Jigglypuff will always breed baby. Baby forms introduced in the advanced generation forward required the mother to hold the proper incense to obtain. It's Gamefreak's attempt to maintain an evolution continuity

About the spheres in the underground. Find a place you can remember like right in front of your base, and bury them on top of each other.

One color per stack, starting with the biggest one you have ending with the smallest. Go up and come back down and they will fuse together. It's not a 1-1 trade off, and the biggest you can get is size 99.

However since they are only used for your secret base, if you can't local wifi capture the flag to clear the rocks, secret base is completely useless. I just skip em now, gives me more hammer whacks to uncover other goodies.
 
Looks like I blew my 100th trade on accident. i was checking out the GTS and some japanese guy decided to trade his Palkia for my Phione after all and the GTS counts on the trainer card. C'est le vie.

I just want to make it so that the people who do not have time to raise level 100 Pokemon can have a chance to actually compete. Of course if nobody wants that then we will not do it.

Well, I guess I didn't say it but I meant like have like you said, a 50 set, a 100 set, and then a free battle. Then let people enter whatever they want.

I think if you included legendaries, everyone's team would be the same. I'd rather play a non-legendaries tourney.
 
I don't see a reason not to have tourneys of all types. ie level limit tourneys, type limit tournets, mixed type tourneys, theme tourneys. It would be fun to fight in say a rock type tourney or fire type tourney or a only one type of each pokemon tourney. The skys the limit.

Nice trade, though.

Oh, and as for gems, I do pile them up but I usually find it useless since if I want to buy something it costs say 43 gems, and if I give a 99 gem I've wasted a lot. :p
 
I've been trying for hours to find an Elekid at Valley Windworks. I have Fire red inserted in the GBA slot. The strange thing is that I've searched before and found two elekids within 10 minutes, but I've found none this time. Also, when I was looking on Route 204 south, I was running into Lotads. You can only run into them if Sapphire is inserted in your slot. So, what's the problem?

Haha, I didn't even know that was possible! I'm 75 hours in (yikes), still trying to figure out how to get the legendary pokemon from Stark Mountain. This game is so much fun! =) I fear i'm running out of things to do in it though, but my pokedex is only at 250-ish so then I just need to play the other pokemon games more to get em all and trade of course. ^_^ I just only wish the boxes had more room... =(
 
All these Magbys showing up in the dual-battle section of Mt. Stark are just taunting me, where were they when I was alone?! and why does Claydol insist on killing them first everytime?!

I've only been able to catch one, no idea if it has a magmamizer yet though

heatran (the legendary in stark mountain) is pretty easy to catch. just bring a decent leveled water type and you'll do fine.

I just saw Pomeg berries on rt 214, right after you leave Veilstone town. That's the only place I can think of off the top of my head right now. Hope that is helpful.
 
I just caught my first post-game legendary, yay Heatran. i'll get to the others later. though once I see cresselia again I'll masterball that fucker
