anybody on right now that could help me do a trade evolution?
i can get on if you want.

and this should be in the online thread by the way :)

For some reason I can't get into Sunnyshore City to get my last badge. The guy keeps telling me there's a blackout there and won't let me pass.

How do I get him to get the hell out of my way?

Did you get the legendary yet?

Dammit. By the time I was done with Team Galactic, my team was a bloody and broken Mess, so naturally I got my ass handed to me by Dialga. Looks like I have to make that climb again.

EDIT: Holy shit. I caught Dialga after just one Dusk Ball and the gotcha trick. That was the easist legendary ever.

It is quite a climb. I really hate caves in general as well.

I always keep a bunch of super and hyper potions with me so if I get real beat up and I am going somewhere I can just heal before a big battle.

Hmm, I'm almost to Eterna City. I can't wait to get Fly so I can start tending my berries. All the berries if Floarama Town are more or less done now untill I get fly, since the trek on foot is worthless.

I have planted like three berries in total. I never found them to be useful except when I was trying to evolve my Feebas in R/S.

Fly always makes the game more fun for me. Then I can start tending berries and honey trees.

I like berries. I do not know why. :p

That reminds me that I want to try out that honey thing. I want a Munchlax! I do have some Snorlax I can trade over if I am too lazy. I first must do this island in the northeast.

Wow. I never really got into the berry stuff. when I run out, I run out.

I pick them when I see them but otherwise I don't worry about it. I used some spicy berried to make riolu happy and that's all.

How do you keep track of your planted ones, hohez?

I just got the Underground and good holy lord I will be there forever. So addicting already.

Any reccomendations, pickax over hammer? I just starting digging stuff up and still don't know what the soheres are for or the advantage of burying, i'll find that tomorrow I guess...

I still need to get involved in digging....I've just been leveling up alot fighting the elite four over and over.

I can see myself only playing Pokemon for the Underground for a few days. It looks fun. but for now I'll have to discover burying and the point of what you dig up later... no more time to play! Must study!

All I use is the hammer. Pickaxe just doesnt help all that much.

I have the berry poketec add-on so as soon as theyre ripe i go pick em
eventually they end up staggered so three are growing and ones ripe, and you end up watering them all each time you stop by, you'll get more berries per plant. I've gotten 10 berries from one plant as my highest while working on hatching eggs in solaceon.

I follow a route with my planting too.

210 - close to town
solaceon - in town
209 - just south of solaceon near ghost tower
209 - near hearthome
208 - near hearthome
212 - south of hearthome only 2 spots
212 - just outside pastoria
Pastoria - middle of town
213 - just outside pastoria

And thats it. I fly in to solaceon, go just north to the first flower bed, then the one in town, then just south of town, then west over to the ones just outside hearthome on each side. Then i go south from hearthome to the first one then fly to pastoia and get the one there and the 2 just outside.

I don't use any other flower beds.

How does one beat the E4 over and over again? I haven't fought them yet, very close actually. I need to lvl up my pokes before I do it.

It is a feature in every Pokemon game that you can challenge the Elite 4 as many times as you want, even after you beat them. It is what most people use to level up their lineup.

Well, I haven't been able to keep up with contests, breeding, and the like. However, I've just been playing through the main game.

I was wondering what everyone's favorite move is right now? Personally, I love leech seed, it allows me to tank and put pressure at the same time. And if it stacks with Shell Bell, that's just sexy right there.

EDIT: Just found out it doesn't stack with Shell Bell. But that 1/16th stat ignoring leech is just too awesome still

Leech Seed has been one of my favorite attacks since R/B/Y.

I still feel really lost in these threads, but Im making progress with my game. I started to level up a second Pokemon as advised by people here, so now I have decent mixed team. Lvl 26 Turtwig and level 18 ??? (blue electric kitty thing).

Couple of questions for you Pokemasters.

- Both of my main Pokes evolved when they hit like level 15. I read somewhere (in game maybe?) that you can stop a Pokemon from evolving by holding down B and scaring it into not evolving. My question is why would you want to do that? Whats the benefit of not evolving?

- Whats up with the berries? I pick em when I see em, and then theres a dirt spot where the berry bush is. Will new ones grow back? Do I need to plant berries? I dont even know what I need these berries for. I go to the store that accepts berries as currency, but I never have the type they want. They need to have an entire berry faq! lol

I feel like Luke Skywalker in Episode IV, Im taking my furst steps into a larger world. =p

Oh yeah, been meaning to ask this. When a pokemon evolves, does it's nature change or stay the same? (by nature, i mean quirky, mild, etc.)

that's what i've been doing lately. everybody in my party is about lvl 70 now.

The reasons that come to mind as to stop evolution is that pokemon usually learn moves faster. For example Turtwig learns Leaf Storm at 45 where it's final evolved form learns it at 57. However, there can be some downsides. For one, Turtwig, when evolving gains a new type, ground and can tap into some ground skills like earthquake, whereas it couldn't as Turtwig. Also, Turtwig's stats are generally lower than its evolved forms. Finally when gaining types, you gain weaknesses and strengths at the same time obviously, you just have to weigh the pros and cons yourself.

Another reason would be for duplicating (breeding) it as Turtwig in the end.

And a third reason would be to trash talk people and say that they owned their Legendary pokemon with Turtwig.

BTW, don't feel bad keeping Turtwig as Turtwig. Mine's not evolved as well and at 39, and I plan to keep him that way.

Unfortunately, I can't answer the berry questions. I'm still learning from the Pokemon masters about that. I'm as stumped as you.
Does anybody know what are in the eggs that you receive from people? For example, from that guy on Iron Island?
Riolu, which evolves through happiness into Lucario. Fighting type.

Just in case some people aren't interested.
Does anybody know what are in the eggs that you receive from people? For example, from that guy on Iron Island?
probably the best pokemon you get for free in the entire game.

So in the Underground, do the hikers get any new decorations? I want a cute Base, but he doesn't have many decorations.

I'm just going around digging up whatever right now. The only way to get bigger gems (spheres) is by combining them or letting them sit buried, right?

Wow, my nephew caught his Dialga at full health with just an ultra ball , he did spam the shit outta his mic with *Gotcha*.

Weee!!

Finished the game (well not really....got to the credits after teh elite four) and in under 29 hours. My Empoleon was level 72 and went through the elite four without trouble. I used a couple of revives here and there but Empoleon did all the fighting.

Now Im gonna train up my other pokemons...

it isn't too hard. all the trainers are mostly pushovers. plus, with a strong water type, you'll have no problem getting through. the legendary at the end is pretty awesome as well, but he takes a little time to catch so you have to be patient.

Just finished my accounting project so that means I will finally have to some more time to actually play and less time wishing I was playing ;)

If you pick berries you need to replant them. Usually you get a couple off and then you can replant one of them. As I have stated before I really do not care about berries, but I do know the basics.

Berries have different purposes. Some can be used for curing certain status, some for healing, some for looking a certain way for a contest. Here is a link to a list of everything. http://www.serebii.net/berrydex-dp/

I am sitting right in front of Heatran right now because I have been debating what nature I want to catch him as. I have been thinking about this since last night. Maybe I will catch him tonight, maybe not.
I'm at the Elite Four's doorstep, but I think I better bulk up at Victory Road some more since mine are all between lvl 42 and 47.
I would recommend getting every one in your team to at least 50. My pokemon were of similar level to yours the first time I challenged them and I didn't get past the third guy.

Three more weeks of classes for me. Too many projects, papers, and of course final exams to think about! Pokemon will of course still be played a lot by me!
