And I'm just riding my bike, trying to make my new Egg hatch. Why we can't just use a hammer is beyond me.

Mickey, if you wanna battle or something, I'm game. I've never battled anyone online, so it would be new to both of us. I'm apologize in advance for my likely suckiness.

Let's battle!

Also, try putting it next to a Slugma or Magby or something. It reduces the hatching time by half.

Ah, all the Pokemon I don't actually have. I knew there were consequences for getting rid of my Pokemon games over the years.

At least when Monster Rancher DS comes out, I'll be happy having my old Monster Rancher 2 Advance cartridge. Booyah.

Moxio, I'd battle you. I'm getting online.

Moxio... it seems I have a lot to learn about online battling. That was amusing, and degrading. Good show. :applause:

Hey, when you play online, can you use items like Revives and Potions and so forth? Items used online, are they truely used and taken from your Bag? Do you earn experience points or anything for battling online? If you see a Pokemon you haven't seen before, is it entered in your Pokedex?

Lol don't worry about it. Remember you had unevolved Pokemon, so when you return you'll be much much stronger! :)

Anyways, I don't think you can use items online. I don't ever recall using them or anyone against me using them, so I'd guess you can't use revive, etc. You don't get EXP. The Pokedex one is a good question, I'm unsure.

yes, as long as it has other pokemon that compliment it.

Also, if I'm trying to breed 2 pokes, and it says, "The two don't seem to like each other much," How can i make it so they do breed?

They'll still breed, though I believe it'll usu. take longer.

Traded Pokemon are better sexheads, though.

The role that moveset plays is just a spiker/psuedo hazer. Usually it's good with Chansey or some sort of special wall. Just be careful if someone is carrying a pokemon with thunderbolt like McIceGar which can counter both of those pokemon.

I'm just trying to come up with the final make up for my team Weavile Gliscor Infernape and Swampert are pretty much locks but my other two guys I am looking into still.
I have this problem with liking almost all Sweeper Pokemon based mostly on appearance ironicly.
Dusknoir might be making his way onto my team since he's not a sweeper. I also am debating swaping out Swampert to put Electivire in. My Last guy I keep thinking Gallade but I just feel like my whole team is one trick ponys.

What are their roles in terms of sweeper, hazer, etc.?

Basically as it stands now Weaville Gliscor and Infernape are all sweepers. Those 3 I am most attached to and will not give up on easily. Swampert the set I was looking at was sweeper based as well.

Sorry if I sound like a noob here, but what exactly are you baton passing?

Hmm, I would suggest a baton passer to help buff them out. But might be hard to fit in. Hmm, oh yeah, it'd be good to have a tank and maybe a wish passer (wish and baton pass) to help heal your team. And a psuedo-hazer (roar/whirlwind Skarmory would be a good addition). So far two good candidates would be skarm and Chansey, but of course there are hundred of pokemon to choose from.
Sorry if I sound like a noob here, but what exactly are you baton passing?
Wish and mean look. Mean look's effect will disappear if you just switch out, so you have to baton pass it. And Wish heals half hp after the next turn, so you can just pass it to the next pokemon which needs a heal.
I refuse to play Blissey because I hate the sprite. I'll have to look into possible choices for the wish passer.
Umbreon, since we're talking about him is an excenllent wish passer. Even though his hp is no where near as much as Blissey, his hp with 252 hp evs is usually more than enough to heal another pokemon, plus, he has massive defenses.

edit: one note about wish passers. You usually want them to be slower so you don't accidentally wish yourself or get another pokemon killed. Umbreon is a perfect example of this. He can take quite a beating and is fairly slow, so you can just focus on healing the other pokemon. Only really counter I can see for Umbreon is his weaknesses, however you can just switch him out to something strong against fighting/bug attacks. Oh and the obvious, taunt.

It seems like they go out of their way to not call the church in Hearthome a church. The description on the town map says: "There is a building here that is symbolic of the city's status as a place where different cultures meet."

It's a church! Does anybody know the story behind this, and any differences between the Japanese version in this regard?

Ahh ok, thanks for clearing that up.
Is a Roar/Whirlwind Spiker set for Skar. viable competatively?
I'd probably trade-up from Spikes to Stealth Rock but otherwise I'd say it still remains rather viable. Skarm is the reason my electivire will have thunderbolt instead of thunderpunch despite the more natural inclination to align his STAB with his massive attack. I don't see Skarm exiting his OU status any time soon

Will Umbreon be able to take a STAB Close Combat/ Cross Chop? It seems alot of the new favorites like Infernape, Lucario, Gallade, Toxicroak, and old fave Heracross are readily used pokemon. I am well aware these are normally switch pokemon but I am curious.

I don't think Umbreon can last a STAB 252 attack ev attack. However, I haven't checked with the 252hp/252def/spdef ev spread, I used a def/sp.def before unfortunately.

I usually have a seventh pokemon I switch it up with also. I'll prob. take Gallade, Electivire, or Swampert for that role.

Progress so far: 36 hours in, 141 pokemon seen, my team is all at level 47-48, and I've caught 54. I managed to somehow beat three of the elite four and take down 3 of the last Elite Four member's pokemon with my team at these levels. ::cool: :
I refuse to play Blissey because I hate the sprite. I'll have to look into possible choices for the wish passer.
I don't want to play Blissey because she's one of the absolutely most overused pokemon in existence. The only consolation is the fact that only transferred chanseys can have seismic toss and chansey was a total bitch to get. Hopefully this will cause a good portion of online Blisseys not to have seismic toss, imagine how nice that will be

Just traded a Chansey with seismic toss a little while ago, sorry.

However, Gengar and Dusclops/Dusknoir are good counters to Blissey. Specifically the Subpuncher and the Curser respectively.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd try to have HP as low as possible for Dusknoir if you're using Pain Split.

And for Umbreon, I'd usually have a 132/128 def/spdef split, but that's just me. I don't think Umbreon can last two fighting attacks even with 252 hp and 252 def which would just cancel the effect of mean look and baton pass since Umbreon is most likely slower than the opponent.

Wouldn't thunderpunch be a better candidate instead of fire blast, so infernape can focus on phys. attacking. Plus it'd deal better dmg in the long run on skarm. A 4x effective compare to a 3x effective (1.5Stabx2xweakness). Can even put up a fight against water pokes. Or at least flame wheel.

Sorry, not too familiar with the rest of the pokemon to provide any decent criticism.

The evil Game Corner is forcing me to play ten rounds to get the Explosion TM. Wasn't there a cool incentive in some earlier Pokemon game -- play at the Game Corner to get a rare Egg? I'd so much rather be playing for Eggs...
Who's Palmer at the Battle Tower?
Palmer's some BT Champion you run across in the 21st and 49th battle in the Single Battle BT Circuit. Beating him nets you 20BP, but he's supposedly ridiculously hard.

I don't understand. I quit when the 11 round started. Am I supposed to play 10 rounds perfectly? I thought that when the moon flashed red, you were supposed to deliberately mess up.

Any tips on how to go about evolving my Riolu into a lucario? I know its happiness + day time, but how can I get his happiness up to the desired amount.

Battle with it; don't let it faint. Let the Pokemon hold a Soothe Bell, give it massages, or feed it any number of berries. My Buneary didn't seem inclined to evolve until I fed it a ...some berry or other. See list below. When I fed it that berry, it evolved the very next level. YMMV on that one, so to speak; maybe my Pokemon was just ready anyway.

Berries which encourage friendliness:

Tamato
Pomeg
Kelpsy
Hondew
Grepa

Right.

And if you go onto the cycling road north of Oreburgh, just press up, then let go and you'll cycle down, then up, then let go. Rinse repeat for quick easy steps.
