Crysis Warhead is mine this week. $25? Can't resist. And better performance plus balls to the walls action make me a happy dude. I played Crysis on a mock High/Very High setting with DX9 using the tweaks, and it was mostly fine throughout. I had to turn that shit down to High for the final showdown though, since it's all crazy full of effects and I don't like games running at 8 FPS.

They're updating their system so I have to call back in two hours, but believe me, I will bitch until I receive something free.

I'm glad it at least red ringed at a time that I don't really have anything to play. Wanted to finish CC but oh well. Will I get a new console or a refurb?

I've received 2 refurbs, and my friend received his first one back, and his second was a refurb. So I'm betting on a refurb. Hopefully the next time mine dies, I'll get one with HDMI. But probably not.

I haven't been playing mine much, so it'll die when I get something to play, just to spite me.

Haha, that's pretty much what happened to me. I was all, let's play some fucking Guitar Hero, YEAH! I got like halfway through An Endless Sporadic (which I was doing terribly, been to long since I'd played.) and it froze. Reset, froze. Reset, froze. Rest, RROD.

Oh well, I'll just play some RB drums on the tripple I guess, since my sisters lost the adapter to our broken guitar.

quit being such a drama queen. You're not the first person that it's happened to, and you're not special. Why should they give you anything? They're fixing it for free, and promptly. It didn't cause you some physical or emotional trauma, or something...
 
Sounds like my RRoD. I was playing DoA4 back in September 2006. The screen got all checkerboarded, and it lasted for about 20 seconds before it froze. Then it would last about 3 minutes before freezing. Then it froze at the 360 splash screen. Then it got the RRoD.

I'm pretty sure Oblivion did most of the damage to that one.

I'm not being a drama queen lol. I realize I'm not any different to everyone else that dealt with it, but that doesn't mean it's not annoying and I shouldn't at least attempt to get something free out of it.

That blows hard. I'd be so pissed right there. Mine has died when I'm inbetween games, so it wasn't a big deal.

I've only received 1 free 1 month XBL Gold card, and that was with my 2nd 360. Which they owed me anyway, since I have Gold and that's a few weeks that I couldn't use it.
 
Fable 2 seems to be a little less bland than the first game, but I won't be buying it on release. So far it looks like Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, and Gears 2 might be the 3 only "big" games I get at launch this holiday. Maybe a few DS games sprinkled in there as impulse purchases? (My Japanese Coach, DQ4, Castlevania) And also Maybe Sam n Max for Wii if it's around $30.

Far Cry 2 will drop in price because Ubisoft published it
Fable 2 is looking meh
Resistance 2 is a wait for a price drop game
LBP could be fun but I want to see what the community does with it first (A community based game on the system with the worst online community isn't promising)
Dead Space has potential but I wouldn't pay $60.
Chrono Trigger is too exact a port to spend $40 on right away when I own the SNES original.

PSP doesn't have a SINGLE GAME that I would consider buying for the next 6 months or so. The effects of piracy are swift and rampant. Lucky thing the emulators have me keeping the system.

and Most of the rest of my wants are downloadable. (Wipeout HD, MM9, etc.)

It's nice to have a reasonable amount of games to buy for a holiday season for once. It's kind of fun to go on GameFAQs and check the upcoming release lists to see everything that's coming out in the next few months. Fallout 3 is the week after Fable and Far Cry 2, BTW.

Well I wasn't too pleased about it. Whats makes it worse is my HDTV came the next day...

So far I'll be getting Fable 2, Fallout 3 Left 4 Dead and Castlevania: OoE. I might get some other games depending on if I have a new job anytime soon...
 
My must buys have changed quite a bit. Now it's just Fallout, Gears, LBP, Megaman, Rock Band.

Prince of Persia will drop fast, as will Far Cry.
I didn't like the first resistance at all.
Dead Space doesn't look too promising.
Fable is just not looking good at all to me.

All the money saved by not buying them is going to Dreamcast stuff lol. Can't wait till I get it. My entire weekend will be Shenmue and Sonic when I do!

Speaking of Rock Band, I got my guitar calibrated correctly and now I'm owning. still can't do solo's well on the strat, and I could only 85 Enter Sandman.

The art direction made Dead Space look promising. The gameplay vids make it look like shit.

Well, apparently, Best Buy won't have Yakuza 2 until the 16th or some shit, which is pretty damn gay. I guess I'll pick that up along with Crysis Warhead.

But this means Bionic Commando Rearmed this week for sure.

I liked the first 2 game. The 3rd was ok... but that core hunting drove me nuts. And I finished the 4th game, but never bothered with the secret dungeon...

slept late today but it's art walk weekend down here in miami; it happens every second saurday of the month. half of the art openings that happen at the time are BS but I go to support friends and generally have a good time (ie. be social for a change).

Apparently I'm going to be watching a performance centered around cum tonight. don't know if I want to stay to be honest :lol:

in terms of gameing shlaming... my new focus is to finish my last remaining PSP games that are mostly finished but not beaten. alongside that I'll work on getting 1000/1000 in VF5 since I only need two things left that are easy.

Anyone into Naruto here and want some manga cheap? I started collecting it when it first started coming out in the US and then promptly ran out of money and then forgot about it. I've got vols 2-7.

Trying to decide what to play now. I started ever so briefly Half-Life 2 to test The Orange Box I got from Goozex, and it's tempting to start that up again since I've not played it since it launched on the PC. Or possibly Wind Waker or Mario Sunshine. Kinda thinking about importing one of those white Gamecube controllers. I love the Wavebird, but I also miss rumble.

I would take you up on that Naruto offer, but I think I'm just going to buy the big ass boxset for the series that just came out.

I've been looking at those White Gamecube controllers as well , but haven't really thought too hard about getting one.

Oh, and I did end up starting FE:path of Radiance over again to play Hard mode. It is a bit more challenging, thankfully.

Ouch, didn't realize that the 360's warranty was three years from date of purchase, not manufacturing date. Seeing as how I bought my first 360 on midnight of the launch, I'm fucked when the refurb they send me red rings.

Tempted to get rid of it cheap when it comes back and just pick up an arcade.

Video Games New York might have them, but in general they tend to be on the pricey side. There's also a fairly big store in Chinatown that sells imports, but they aren't cheap either (and I'm not sure they'll be open tomorrow).
