Sigh, I still need to get Braid at some point. I enjoyed what I played, but mebbe I just wait for a sale.

I'm actually starting to seriously contemplate getting a bigger 360 HDD now... :p
Fixing it will cost me $100 plus tax. Buying a new one will cost about $200 plus tax.
I could've swore your post said it'd cost $200. Oh wells.

You know, I never thought I would, but with FFXI taking up a HUGE portion of my HDD, I might actually need a bigger one soon. With just my arcade games and FFXI, I have 3.3 GB left, which is cuttin' it a bit too close for my taste.

Oh, I was saying that if I messed up trying to fix my 360 myself I'd end up spending $200.

I'd also probably just spend the extra $92 and get a new arcade. You could also sell the controller, memory card etc. that are included if you don't need them to recoup some of the extra cost.

I couldn't justify $108 to repair something versus $200 to replace it with a new one.

Well, the design change kind of sucks, but at least the "scary" parts in Uncharted aren't difficult. I guess I didn't realize running and gunning was that powerful...

Just got to chapter 20. Time to do some real work.

I can justify it. I don't have the money to get a new 360. So I'm getting it repaired. That extra $92 can go towards other things I need.

So I played about an hour of Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds. I think it's a good golf game, but I really wish they had implemented the stick controls like the Tiger Woods games (I really only played the original Tiger Woods game). I also think paying $60 for it would be a mistake.

Fair enough. $92 isn't a lot of cash to me, so I'd prefer to buy a new one than drop $108 on getting it refurbbed.

$92 is a month's worth of cable, internet, and phone. Not exactly small potatoes.

Or in my case it can go toward renewing my drivers license and the rest of it is can go towards car insurance. Also I did recently pay off the rest of my student loan with was about $340...

It's a decent chunk of change, but it's all relative on your budget.

For me I'd shell out for a new one as I'd feel more confident getting new hardware than having MS refurb my broken one in terms of how long it will last before the next breakdown. But if money's super tight, then by all means he should save the $92 and go for the repair.

This is CAG so I guess I should have taken that into account! :D I tend to forget about the cheap ass part of the site since I have the general gaming forum bookmarked and seldom look at the deals forum.

I'll shell out the money for a new one as soon as I'm sure more reliable 360's are readily available. Anyway as long as this next one lasts until I finish both Fallout 3 and Fable 2 I'm happy.

I've been watching the "Deals" forum closer more recently. With all the AAA games coming out in the next few months, I'm waiting for many of last year's AAA games to drop in price or go on clearance.

I stopped watching the deals forum so much when I joined Goozex. Now I just buy the few must have's at launch, and anything else I just wait to pick up on there or just pick up when they have price drops.

I still skim deals once or twice a week, but I've not bit on a deal in quite a while. I also stopped buying games just because there were deals and only buy a game when I need something new to play or a must have like Gears 2 comes out so that kind of kills the need to regularly skim the deals forum.

Goozex... blech, first game I got from it looked like it had been rubbed between someone's ass crack but it worked. Regardless, last time I get anything from goozex. Dunno how you all are having such good luck.

Everything I've gotten has been in perfect condition so far. Granted that's only been 4 or 5 games. I've sent out 20 or so, but haven't had many I wanted to request yet.
So can I still ship those games out, or should I cancel? I think I'll cancel one anyways cause I wanna go ahead and play Okami.
The person you're trading to has accept the cancellation. I'd just ship the one, send them a PM apologizing for the delay. If you want to keep Okami, pm the person saying you didn't mean to list it yet and ask if they'll cancel the trade.

Meh, I'll just send it out and use the 900 points for DC games I guess.

Sold my WoW Battlechest. I kind of want to buy Haruhi or a cheap game with the money... Probably Haruhi.

Played more FFIVDS. Still fun. O a, getting my laundry and clothes around for NYC. Gotta look my best when I walk into the Nintendo World Store. :D

ahhh! I was trying to nap but I guess Im not that tired...

I gotta be well rested to play me dat Street Fighter 4 tonite!!

I wanna eat ramen too!!
so how is everyone getting rid of their rock band 1 instruments?
Very easy, I didn't buy it. :D I really want to get into RB, but I just don't have the room for more giant plastic instruments. I am glad I have a bag for my Guitar Hero II guitars.
so how is everyone getting rid of their rock band 1 instruments?
not upgrading. little point in throwing the $$$ out the window for a slightly improved product when EA was a bunch of douchbagglers about the warranty (for me) for the first game. the ONLY upgrade that might get made is the progression to an ION kit, which would be followed by a progression to the ION drum brain for real drummin'.

Picked up a copy of Castlevania DS today since I've never played it, and it's also a little hard to find in my area.

After work, heading home to fortify myself in my house for the next day while the hurricane passes over us. Then work on sunday :(

Which one? DoS or PoR? DoS is probably the best Metroidvania style Castlevania game on a handheld, maybe overall. PoR is solid for sure. But it's no DoS.

Good fucking question. :p

Actually, the only thing I want to replace is the drums. I'd like to donate 'em to Teh Tr00ps!

As for the Capcom thing, it's a little odd, but as long as they buy the right devs it might work out ok. I just hope they know what they are doing from that perpective as they could easily get in over their head picking up the wrong companies.
Which one? DoS or PoR? DoS is probably the best Metroidvania style Castlevania game on a handheld, maybe overall. PoR is solid for sure. But it's no DoS.
This is very true. I have quite the distaste for PoR, myself. I know it's not bad, but after DoS I was sooooo hyped for PoR that it was a real let down. Very obviosuly rushed. I'm very exciyted for OoE, but I'm trying to temper my excitement for that just a bit so that I'm not letdown again. They've spent about twice the time on OoE than they had for PoR though, I believe. That should help.

Alright, I'm going to dive into finishing Uncharted tonight I think, then it's away on Goozex. I almost picked up Mercenaries 2 yesterday, but I think I'll hold out and be patient and just see if I can get it from Goozex eventually, or get it for

Hmm, I was just checking into my junk hotmail account, and I guess I've been made a "premiere black" Best Buy customer? That seems weird since I seem to buy a lot of things from them, only to find it way cheaper at Amazon like a week later and then return it, but whatever.

Anyway, part of that is free shipping. Maybe I'll pick up Yakuza 2 with my gift card and that free shipping. I can't imagine the print run of that game will be too high...

I actually enjoyed PoR more... DoS was solid but it was pretty much Aria of Sorrow with shitty usage of the stylus.

I got my Dreamcast games today. I'll take pictures probably later this month... I'll just take a general "this is what I got in September" shot. But it'll have kewl stuff in it.

I'm gonna agree with Daroga on this one. I like PoR, but it just wasn't as fun. The environments were repeated like... verbatim, and they weren't that interesting to begin with. I mean, places outside the castle is a cool idea, but a desert and clown land? I dunno about that...

I still enjoyed PoR, but considering that Dawn of Sorrow was easily the best portable 'Vania by a fucking mile, yeah... it was a disappointment.

Maybe I should sell PoR... now that I think about it. I mean, it was basically DoS that did everything worse...

I'm damn excited for Ecclesia.

Hmm... okay, yeah, PoR is gettin' outta here. I forgot about the dumb partner mechanic, and that the game is not gothic. Castlevania is gothic. This is not Castlevania.

Surprisingly, DoS is the first and only Castlevania I've ever beaten. Know why? Because slamming myself up against the roof repeatedly made me giggle.
I thought the partner mechanic was fine.... It was better then the Seals in DoS anyway.
Yeah, the seals in DoS were lame. But that was the only thing that game didn't do exceptionally well.

I agree. DoS is far superior to PoR.

Left4Dead will be mine day one as long as it has decent length.

NHL 09 is dominating me.

Nothing really on my radar in terms of day one until 10/14 with FIFA and Dead Space.

didn't have time to do the avatar due to homework being an overload >_< srry, I will work on one though sometime next week.

I bumped into a friend of mine who has a local well known surf rock band that I may shoot a music video for. I'll check and see.

was at work all day (13 hour work day  sounds hard, but it's easy)

in terms of gaming, I'm on the last mission in Vice City Stories and I have one last arcade in VF5 before I 100% quest mode :) genna work on that tonight.

So I headed to Mediocrest Buy to look for Yakuza 2, no dice of course.

Then I headed over to dat Gamestop and snagged the last copy *headspin*
