I really love Dragonball.. remains my favorite childhood series. I still watch it to this day. This past Christmas, when visiting my family down south, I brought the DVDs with me and rewatched all the way up to Fortune Teller Baba. That show is so great...

I used to like Dragonball Z, but always felt it was inferior. And IMO it definitely has not stood the test of time, like Dragonball has.

I'm still piecing together in my head how when there's a full moon Gokou no longer turns into a giant ape, but instead...a Locust from Gears of War.

I Was kinda hoping the trailer would begin with "CHA-LA! HEAD CHA-LA!" Sadly, this wasn't the case and the movie looks even WORSE than I imagined.

Only good thing I can say is the capsule effects look cool, but man, this looks more like "Never Back Down" than Dragonball.

And I look forward to punishing my eyes for all the joy they've given me on March 13th.

I want it to be horrifically bad to the point of being awesome and it looks like it's on track to meet that expectation.
 
What the? Everyone knows Piccolo was a black guy. Other than that this movie looks so bad that I am actually stoked to see it. I know it sounds strange but every once an a while a movie comes around that is so bad that you have to see it. This might be one of the best comedies this year.
 
Why so serious, Dragon Ball movie? That said, I will probably enjoy this for the sheer campiness it will be. I have no doubts that this movie will be terrible.
 
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Watchmen holds on to the box office crown for a second weekend when this movie comes out.

I guess they didn't include Puaru with Yamucha because a flying cat would make the movie look cheesy. ;) Also, I just read that they gave Puaru's power of shapeshifting to Mai. Wee.

Yeah, you kinda see it near the end of the trailer (before the "money shot" of the old man whom I assume is Gohan). So I guess this means no subplot with Oolong randomly shitting his pants whenever Bulma says the word?

Man, original Dragonball was so awesome the more I bring it up.

I Think that seems to be the overall consensus. There's a part in all of us that seems to be eager and willing to watch our childhood get raped or something. Also where the fuck are my animal people? Toriyama world's always have some kinda animal people and all I get are teenagers and Asians in this!

This is Godzilla all over again.

I heard the producers asked one of the orginal voice actors from the Japanese cartoon who voiced several characters through the series (he's now a famous comedian in Japan) to be a character in the movie. He declined saying he didn't want anything to do with the movie.
