Big Azz sale at Big Lots on Warner Bros. sets (with some Hanna Barbera cartoons, and a spot of HBO DVDs) Originally the sale was only for 6 dollar sets, as advertised in their circular ad, but now they've added $3 and $10 sets. (These $3 and $10 sets, while currently ringing up at the correct prices, are supposed to be withheld for the 07/26 sales ad, which would explain why there may be trouble seeing them early, depending on your store)

Only thing my local store had was Pinky and the Brain season 1, which I bought. Was hoping for Animaniancs, but oh well.

Picked up Animaniacs Vol 1 and 2; Drew Carrey Season 1, Samurai Jack and Loonatics Unleashed.

From what I recall, Passed on Pinky and the Brain vol 1 and 2 (already own), ER, Dukes of Hazard, West Wing, Scooby Doo's, Wonder Woman, Nip Tuck, Lakers Championship and Joey. I've never seen the show, so it's probably not fair to say this, but I checked like 3 stores looking for titles and each had a ton of copies of Joey, it seems like nobody even touches it.

Picked up a WW2 doc for 4 bucks, Wonder Woman S3, Super Friends V2, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Drew Carey and a two-pack of Pup Named Scooby Doo. Pretty good haul, got most of everything I wanted from this sale overall.
 
panama city fl big lots has NEVER had any of these good sets only the WW2 ones. But I was lucky enough to pick up 5 older ufc discs. Only thing I wanted was the pinky and brain set lol
 
I have hit all the big lots around me, 5 of them, found mostly the same as everyone else. All the stores seemed to have different assortments, or maybe had sold out of some stuff. Here is what I saw out there:
OC, lots of Joey, Nip Tuck, Nightcourt, Animaniacs vol 2, Pinky and the Brain 1 and 2, History of rock, super bowl sets (3 of the 4), friends (various ones, didnt check seasons), thundercats season 1 vol 1, thundercats season 2 vol 2, west wing, lots of roots, lots of dukes of hazzard, various scooby doo packs, various super hero sets, dallas, blade, nightmares and dreamscapes

I ended up picking up history of rock, and pinky and the brain 1 and 2 (so happy about that). I really wanted samurai jack, but saw no sign of him. Also as a heads up, out of 5 stores I only found one copy of pinky and the brain vol 1 (of course at the last big lots I went to), so it might be tough to track down.

One last note, perhaps the most interesting: This sale is advertised in Wednesday's ad (check biglots.com), which means some stores might be holding them until Wednesday morning. I know I went to one store and they had no box set dvds out, I talked to the manager and he let me know that he had got the sets in, but they were on hold till Wednesday's ad.

Kenosha WI store was pitiful . . . didn't look picked over.

They have lots of copies of a few titles.

Scooby Doo movies

Pretty uninspiring.

Either the Fatwallet or Slickdealers got at them or this was a dud at this store.
 
My big lots are pretty empty, but when I went to Suncoast video(Fye sister store), I found out why. They are LOADED with these. At least 6 copies each of all titles, especially Dukes of Hazzard. If i found anything to trade in they'd probably deny me since they have so much.
I made enough credit to start using the email FYE coupons to start getting some box sets I want, like Battlestar Galactica seasons used.
 
Just an FYI--I hadn't been to my Big Lots since a couple of days before Sunday (they'd put out some boxsets by June 30th and had more by July 7th, though).

There were very few boxsets left. However, I did find an entire rack of Nickelodeon DVDs which hadn't been there before. They were all Nicktoons. I remember:

I didn't pick any up, but it should be noted that none of these releases are by the season, except for Avatar, which I think is done in volumes (though I'm not 100% on that).

$3 sets like Flintstones tv seasons, Tales from the Crypt Seasons

Picked up the only copy of the Original Roots Complete Series, the 3 disc Scooby-Doo set and the Stan Lee Doc for under $16. Very nice.

After scoring the first set, I REALLY would love Volume 2 of Animaniacs. If anybody would like to trade either of the Pinky and the Brain sets for it, please let me know!
 
Picked up Six Feet Under Season 3 for $6 last week. I haven't read through anything but the last 3 pages and didn't see it mentioned.

The PowerPuff Girls Complete Series (6-disc) ($42.99 at Amazon) (Amazon TIV $18!!!) There was only 1 left at my BL, but I saw the person in front of me had one, too. Wish I had gotten there at 9 AM :(

Yeahhh um... and it's the second time. West Virginia has the closest city to here (Athens), roughly 30 miles away. I'd really like to get a Looney Tunes set!

I went yesterday to my local BL & nada.....This store did get a lot of stock from the last shipment so they still had some leftovers mostly Dukes Hazzard, ER, Joey
 
Hit up a couple Big Lots today...looked like most stuff was picked over but at one of the stores did find something for $6 that I hadn't seen mentioned before (maybe I just missed it) Night Court Season 1. Picked that up along with the last Friends boxed set (S8) they had.
 
I just want to thank you guys for this. I found Animaniacs, and Pinky and Brain Series 1 and 2 on both. They even had life goes on, and tons of Dukes or Hazard sets

Looks like they had a repeat shipment of anime in, as they had the same titles in that I just bought last week.

Anyway, I talked to the guy putting them out and he said they had more in the back, like "Tales from the Darkside" (I think he had meant 'Crypt') but he could not put them out until next week, so I'll have to be popping in daily for them. I really wanted Josie or Powerpuff Girls.

Odd thing I noticed, an entire box of Flintstones season 2, about 10 sets, had no plastic wrapping on them at all. They was not sure what to do with those. I got one from a box that did have wrappings on.
 
My BL was pretty sad. Lots of Joey. Did get one of the few Animaniacs Vol. 1. Also did find The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers edition that has both the theatrical and extended edition for $6.
