 HAHAHA, I meant I'm stocking up on Wipeout 3 and a lot of garbage games! Um... yeh... :whistle2:\" There's nothing else to use CAG15 and SAVER on anymore... sometimes I'm tempted to just click through and pay $2 for the stupid shipping to avoid the hassle of spending time looking for a PO game I might want. My sad new routine is that everytime I put an order in now, I immediately go looking for a PO game and add it to my cart in case another deal pops up soon.
Ah, I see. Well, I dunno. There are a lot of great PS1 games on there. Just gotta look. :)

Yeh, but at a reasonable price? I mean I am on CAG for a reason now. ;)

Of great . . . missed Gungriffon again today! Why don't they just put them in with the morning update? . . . which I'm around for.

Or you could just ask someone to pick it up for you and you pay them back? Like Shrike, seems like one of the nicest board mods I've seen in a long time.

I've been trying to buy the cartoon network video, but I buy preowned stuff in the mornings with the update and the video is never at 1.99 then. Now today I finally planned to do everything at lunchtime...and instead of dropping in price, the video is gone entirely (except for preowned). What gives? Does the process involve pulling games from the site briefly before reposting with the price drop -- i.e. should I hang around and keep checking?

just leave it in your cart. It will automatically reappear when it's in stock... assuming you have cookies turned on. That's been my experience with EB. Like this morning, with my order for 2 F-zero's, I also got the DBZ video for $1.99. It's been in my cart since Monday morning.
Picked up Gungriffon and Knight's Apprentice for you, Shipwreck, with a copy of Gungriffon for myself (which I swore I wouldn't do, though I did a WTF) and Shadow Vault.
Thanks shrike, you da man.

It WAS in my cart...confirmed so this morning. At noon, it's gone. No longer in my cart, no longer on my wish list (I added it everywhere to make sure!). Are you saying that it will reappear if it comes back in stock? How would the system know to do that?

I know how the site behaves when things just go out of stock, but not how the morning-high/evening-low price drop items behave. Nonetheless, this seems weird to me. It's been off the site for at least an hour now -- far too long for just system price shuffling.

It will be off of the system until tomorrow morning. It will then show up at regular price. Somewhere in between 10AM to 1 PM the price will drop. The games will show back up in your cart the next morning when they come back in stock. This cycle will continue until EB has decided to stop dropping the price of the game everyday.

If you check your cart while the item is OOS, it will not reappear in your cart when it is in stock again. It only 'stays' in your cart if you do not access your cart while it is OOS.

Thanks shipwreck and guessed, for increasing my intimate knowledge of the ways of ebgames.com!!

I thought the price drops didn't happen until noonish. Will have to shop up earlier tomorrow.

EDIT: Heh, "shop up", "show up", whatever. Shop it up everyone! Isn't that what CAGgers are always doing?

yeah but, are you guys telling me that MP2 ad Four swords is completely sold out? because it isnt even on the site at the moment for a higher price, and i would imagine the buying would probably stop once the price goes up or it goes OOS for that price, yet it seems completely out of new copies, which i doubt.

still curious to know how long they plan to price it at those prices, even if it's when they have this special stock.

It did drop to $1.99 but went OOS in less than 5 minutes.

I'm going to have to finally pick me up a copy of Mechassault 2 LE as that $19.99 price tag is just screaming buy me!

Woohoo!! It's all back in stock at the regular prices. The countdown begins until the price drop. Good luck to those who were trying to get F-zero GP for $4.99. There's over 100 in stock as of 8:20AM EST. Be ready! ;)

Dammit, I really want Gungriffon, but I'm sorely lacking funds, what to do, what to do.

BTW i found this:

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/233134.asp
$9.99 New

Not exactly noteworthy, but meh, it was the best I could come up with. :)

EDIT: Seems like there's a lot of of $14.99 Xbox and PS2 titles, kinda noteworthy inclusions include:

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/255669.asp
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/241718.asp
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/243595.asp
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/242331.asp

Again, nothing to excited about.

OK, I've got the system down (thanks to all you people), and I'm ready to sit and stalk this morning until they drop. Bring it on!
True Crime is also eligible for a pricegrabber rebate, which makes it an absolute steal if EB decides to drop it to $4.99 later on today.
If it drops to $5, i may consider a purchase, but as it stands, TC is one very frustrating game.

EDIT: Some PSone games to keep you busy:

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/149321.asp
$17.99 b/c

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/152986.asp
$2.99 b/c (after coupons, that's like paying 1/3rd of a penny per game  Shame most of the games probably suck).

You learn fast. ;)

Hmmm... interesting, the $4.99 games are back first. Splashdown, pure pinball, gungriffon and knights apprentice. But not MP2 or LOZ or F-zero, why does the webmaster tease us so?

There's still 98 Gungriffons in stock. They don't appear to be going as fast today. Oh well, shrike got me one yesterday.

Darn it!! Someone bought that .99 cent Sydney 2000 PO from my cart! Now I have to add another PO game to my cart in case a good item comes along!
Haha, from 98 to 0 in 1 minute's time. Somebody is buying a crapload of GunGriffons. What a pisshat.
I think the EB adminstrators are just having a good time . . . playing cat and mouse with us.

They probably watch this site for giggles.

There is no other explanation for the wacky fluctuations.

No one is buying mass quantities of these games . . . and there are not that many separate orders.

"Let's put this one out there . . . now, close the orders . . . watch the comments"

Buying $4.99 games from EB to resell on eBay is just idiotic.

The cost per game after CAG16, SAVER and the edge card is $3.99. Wholesale game lots on eBay go for $4 unless you are rhonna24, are including used systems as incentives or have a few shill bidders in the background to boost the price.

Besides, Game Crazy is having a B2G1 free on games this month. With the MVP card, that's $3.18 per game.

Eh, waiting for the price drops to me feels like the beginning of a roller coaster ride, you get all anxious and excited at the same time knowing what's ahead but just not sure when the drop will come... assuming you sit in the back of roller coasters like I do.

And the strange thing is, I already bought all the games I wanted at their lower prices! Yet I find myself strangely obsessed with watching the site and watching the cart numbers go down as they're sold.  :whistle2:\"

For instance, at this point there are 99 copies of F-Zero in stock at $30 . . . when it drops to $5 . . . they will "sell out" in minutes.

But from what we can see . . . maybe 5 people will get in on it . . .

Let's say someone is going to resell them on ebay . . . who would order more than 10?

It used to be with these drops that after you ordered you could watch the stock evaporate over time . . . but these are happening too fast to be real.

They're messing with us.

hahaha, eh, this is tense. It's a slow friday at work, I have nothing better to do right now. :D Hey schultzed, shouldn't you be teaching your class?

I always just assumed they have a quota system. They have too much stock of an item, so they want to drop prices, but only until they get back to an "acceptable" stock level. That would explain why everything disappears at different times (i.e. some slow, some near immediate) seemingly regardless of current stock level. They don't disappear b/c all the stock sold -- they disappear b/c as many sold as EB wanted to.

Just my pet theory.

I wonder where the EB webmasters are located. Pacific (highly unlikely since they drop prices at what are REALLY early west coast times), Central (possible) or Eastern time zone (my personal pick).
They're messing with us.
They're controlling us! Can't you see? They're controlling our minds! The horror! Aarg, the horror! But I see! I see beyond your Veil, EB!

Ahem...Um...ok, enough of that. :p

Since we are talking about new games in this thread, I wanted to check to make sure you know that those codes are only good on used games.
