Both for gamecube right? I don't think there really is a reason to get the third if you have the fourth..could be wrong. I thought the fourth improved on the third in many/every way(?)
Both for gamecube right? I don't think there really is a reason to get the third if you have the fourth..could be wrong.
There were shmups on sale. Gigawing generations, Homura, Trizeal, Radilgy, Sengoku blade/ Sengoku ace, Gaires. Those were all on sale earlier today when I checked the sale.
I think I just ordered Tengai Premium Package for 19.99... it went out of stock when I went back to look at it again but it looks like my order was placed.
Wow, I knew there was a reason I held off on ordering that. Now I know what it was. All I really want know is a JP Dreamcast so I don't have to use a stupid boot disc so much.

--ff
Picked up a copy of this as well :D

I was wondering about one game on this sale list. Does the Japanese version of DOA4 include some things the average game doesn't have packaged? I mean I was looking at weight on Play-Asia and apparently it's 0.30 kg compared to RR6's 0.16 kg. Any help?

gackt! you guys are killin' me with these import recommendations! must...resist...spending...any....more...money...>urk<

doh, i have a $5 off too. /tremble

i could get these:

Nintendo Puzzle Collection (Japanese, NTSC J) US$ 19.90
Kuru Kururin Paradise (Japanese, No Region Protection) US$ 14.90
Kururin Squash (Japanese, NTSC J) US$ 18.90

TotalUS$ 53.70 - $5 = $48.70

w/shipping, $10 economy air box, grand total: $58.70.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned all the shooters!!! I got:

Gigawing Generation PS2 - $21.90
Saikyo Volume 2 (Sengoku Ace + Blade) - $19.10
King of Fighters 94 Rebout - $29.90
RE 4 Collection Toy Series 2 - $1.50 (I hope I get the merchant!)

Shipping was $14.50, got everything for around $88... a hell of a deal.

There is a limited edition version of this game in Japan which has a hard/heavier case although it is not pictured on the product page.

I'll email my guy at Play-Asia and find out, but you might not hear back until Sunday or Monday.

Oh, and thanks to everyone who mentioned what they purchased and recommend. I'll be constantly updating the OP with this info.
50 bucks is a good deal on IIDX Red.
I've been thinking about getting this recently, so the $15 off certainly sealed the deal. I got this and splurged on some toys (specifically the Mario Party Collection Candy Toy and Naruto Narukiri Gashapon 3 stuff).

A lot of good recommendations already, but I'd also like to add the Simple 2000 series game The Zombie vs. Ambulance. Not exactly a quality game, but I think it has enough entertainment and novelty for $9. I already got a (not-so-ahem-legit) copy of this a while ago, and I would have bought this, but I didn't notice a bunch of other Simple 2000 games were on sale and not listed on the main sale page. Maybe next order...

For those that are curious (including Roufuss) - the Starfi games for GBA are excellent platformers that did not get released here in the US. They are all at great prices so I would pick them all up. I paid full price when they came out because I was worried I would never find them again. The DS one for $29.99 is probably a "buy" as well, though I haven't played it yet. Just get all 4 :)

Thanks Cheapy, here are my findings and spendings:

PSP UMD Jeans Case 1 US$ 0.99 US$ 0.99

Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire (US, No Region Protection) 1 US$ 14.90 US$ 14.90 (For the father figure)

Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Japanese, No Region Protection) 1 US$ 19.90 US$ 19.90 (wanted this, but can't find it in the states anymore)

Kuru Kururin Paradise (Japanese, No Region Protection) 1 US$ 14.90 US$ 14.90 (Um, wtf? This was an accident, oops. Hopes it good.)

Damn Play-Asia would only allow 1 per customer of the PSP UMD Case! Grr! I put in like 11 or something. Oh well, the 1 for $0.99 brought my order to 46 cents above $50, so I could use a $5 off coupon.

How much Japanese do you need to know for them? Which GBA game do you recommend?

I picked up:

Under Defeat LE w/ Poster and Sticker
Giga Wing Generations
Psyiko Shooting Collection Volume 2
Famitus Wave June 2006

Good prices on this stuff. I couldn't pass it up

I thought about getting the super LE, but I figured an extra $20 for a poster + sticker was a bit much, and I never wanted to spend $80 on the game anyways.

The regular LE was less then what the regular edition cost in the first place, which is how I justified it :D

We basacially bought the same thing... I wish something like Ibara or Esp Galuda was on sale ;)

Seriously, if Ibara was on sale.....
Seriously, if Ibara was on sale.....
Pfft, I'm just happy with what I got, since I liked the Gigawing games on Dreamcast and I wanted to get the Saikyo collections anyways.. $20 a piece for any shmup is a steal, imo.

Speaking of which, does anyone know where to find Saikyo Shooting Collection Volume 3? It's OOS almost everywhere...
Hey Roufuss, out of curiousity, have you ever played a shmup called Imperishable Night for the PC?
To be honest, I've been out of the shmup scene since the late days of the Dreamcast... now that stuff like the slide card is out and relatively inexpensive, I'm catching back up ;)

I don't think I've really played any shmup on the PC, though.
it really hasnt been proven.
i've used the utopia boot cd, it works. i've also read that it won't work with later revisions of the dreamcast

I want to buy a lot of the PSP and DS games, but I can't tell which ones have English subtitles. Anyone have any idea or a list? Thanks!

I didn't have a $5 off coupon. :( Here's what I got:

Dot-S Puzzle: The Legend of Zelda 1 1 US$ 10.90 US$ 10.90

Pocket Bomberman [Tin Box] (Japanese, No Region Protection) 1 US$ 9.90 US$ 9.90

Bomberman GB3 [Tin Box] (Japanese, No Region Protection) 1 US$ 19.90 US$ 19.90

Nintendo Puzzle Collection (Japanese, NTSC J) 1 US$ 19.90 US$ 19.90

Kuru Kururin Paradise (Japanese, No Region Protection) 1 US$ 14.90 US$ 14.90
Sum US$ 75.50
Shipping US$ 13.90

Total US$ 89.40

Good price on the Bomberman GB games...the metal tins are so cool...wish we got stuff like this in the U.S. Also, I've been wanting to try the Gamecube puzzle game, plus I'll finally have a use for my Free Loader disc. As for the Dot S Zelda puzzle...it just looked kinda fun. Anyone try one of these Dot S puzzles? They're kinda like Lite Brite without the light.

I'll probably place another order in the near future. Any one have any candy recommendations for me from the grocery section? I like to try new things.
I want to buy a lot of the PSP and DS games, but I can't tell which ones have English subtitles. Anyone have any idea or a list? Thanks!
Do any of the DS games have English subtitles? None of the ones I've imported ever have. I think Ghost In The Shell for PSP is in English. I know Space Invaders Galaxy Beat for PSP is in English...I have a copy of that.

I just ordered Under Defeat LE for Dreamcast. Now to find a deal on Radirgy somewhere. I wish I could play import PS2 titles as there are a lot of schmups I want on that too.
How much Japanese do you need to know for them? Which GBA game do you recommend?
Not much. I don't know Japanese and they are fully playable for me. I can't recommend one over the other - all 3 are great. I spent much money on this sale elsewhere otherwise I would have bought the DS one.

If Ibara or Espgaluda had been on sale, I would have been a bit angry. I just ordered them a couple weeks ago :bomb:

I justified the super LE by telling myself it was only $10 more than what the regular cost in the first place :applause:
Sure is a lot of justification in this thread... :)
Deals on imports don't come along very often.

This sale for me is alot better than the CC, TRU, or Best Buy sales already, in terms of gameplay and collector values (since most imports tend to keep their value).

Now I just need to make another order after I decide which Stafi game to get :(

I might just go with Stafi 2, since it's the cheapest, and if I hate the series I'm not out alot of money.

Crap, I missed Radilgy for GCN. I don't have any shmups right now, and I didn't know this one had a GCN port. Does anyone know if the GCN version is any good? Ah, I should probably just stop buying stuff already. 8}

I grabbed Signs on UMD, went to get Unbreakable but for 37.00 not worth it, I paid less then 20 for the SE. Wonder why the price is so high on it.

How is IIDX Red? The US Beatmania was ok, difficulty curve was crazy, and alot of the songs were kind of blah... I assume Red has better songs?
How is IIDX Red? The US Beatmania was ok, difficulty curve was crazy, and alot of the songs were kind of blah... I assume Red has better songs?
The import ALWAYS has better songs, trust me. Same goes for DDR.
You could go on Gamefaqs so the song lists.
Yea but lists of songs dosen't do it for me, since I don't know what they sound like ;)

I picked up a Pop N Music controller that was $10 cheaper, due to the sale.

Thanks much for the heads up.

I really want A.C.E. Another Century's Episode 2, but it's still 49.90. I haven't paid that much for a game in a while. Then again, it is an import game. Grrr....gotta think hard about this.
RED has a pretty damn decent songlist. Definitely worth the purchase if you have the cash and enjoyed BMUS
Awesome... what's the learning curve like? BMUS went from kind of easy to fucking insane real fast, with no middle ground.

Here's what I got. Hopefully they enter you once for every item you buy.
