FGT #17 went 0-2 in MK4 at EVO and macked on Kayo Police
stop blaming tiers, boy!
This is an S+ tier complaint, I demand it be banned from the FGT.

There's more Hugo players in here than I thought.
This is me playing Ghost Rider, Hawkeye and Sentinel in the very first match in the video haha
The guy was kinda a dick for wanting to stay in line by choosing all his mains the whole time... I don't blame him, but, yeah...

Hearing that Ghost Rider plays like Omega Red kinda makes me think I might not play him... -_- Still hoping the other characters I can actually play.

As for SFIII characters... I have no idea who my main is... the best I could come up with but I suck with is Q... I largely play him because 90% of his moves have to do with rape.

LOL

I played my main team the entire time I got to play UMVC3 at EVO. I'd rather know now if my team changed at all (it did, drastically) now instead of waiting until November.

Guess that makes me a dick too? :)

You had good reasons for being a dick; his reasons were just to not have to be in line.
Ghost Rider Throw/OTG was sweet.

Also LOL at Sentinel.
That was definitely my crowing achievement in that match lol.

Definitely dropping ol' Sent, dude is made out of tin cans in the new one :)-()

Yeah I don't blame people for doing that, but I do wish they would've divided the stations up somehow, like half of the stations you could only select the new characters or something. That way everyone would get what they wanted. I personally was way more interested in trying the new characters than seeing what changed with the old ones (I have no problem just looking at a list of that stuff)

Should still be fine. Taskmaster looked relatively unchanged. His throws xx Super still did a ridiculous amount of damage in that build.

Yeah, doing throws xx Super XFC(in-air) Super was buff as hell

Soul Calibur V Director, Daishi Odashima, posted up a ton of new gameplay and other details to his Twitter account recently. These bits of information should answer a few lingering questions you may have after watching some of the recent trailers released for the game. He also responds to some questions he received via Twitter surrounding the whereabouts of Kilik and a few other topics.

Huge thanks to Aries Warlock for posting this up on the IPW Forums.

GAMEPLAY DETAILS

Critical Edge is a new attack system that delivers high damage to the opponent. Can be used in combos. Requires 1 Critical Gauge bar.

The Critical Gauge can be charged up to 2 bars. So some characters can connect 2 Critical Edges in a row.

A small portion of the Critical Gauge can be used to perform Brave Edge; a powered up ver. of standard attacks (character shines when used)

The properties change depending on the move; increase damage, adds additional attacks, gives advantage on block, changes hit property etc.

There are 3 defensive systems. Quick Move can be performed by tapping the same direction twice. Kind of like a faster version of the 8WR.

Similar to SC2’s evasion but doesn’t have invincible frames. It’s very easy to do and can be used by beginners too.

Secondly is Guard Impact. It's still being adjusted but it’s the system everyone's familiar with from previous series.

Lastly, Just Guard is a system for high level players which is performed by inputting guard at just frames. The guard stun frames reduces.

Natsu’s moves are based off Taki’s but she can move faster and can transfer to the Possession stance quickly to fake the opponent.

Her CE fires 3 blasts and can be followed up with the possession stance to apply additional attacks. She’s very fast. Highly recommend.

Ivy’s closer to SC1&2. Her basic moves will be in sword form and by holding the button down, can be turned into a whip.

Calamity Symphony's command is still hard to pull off. It can be used after a dash but if the B throw comes out you’ve made a mistake!

MISC. DETAILS & RESPONSES

EVO was great fun. I want to go next year as well, not for work but privately for my enjoyment!

What happened to Kilik? All I can say is, he is what you might call an ill-fated character...

Daishi Odashima
If you guard too much they start flashing and your guard will be broken. RT @Malice215: What are the yellow and red flashing lifebars?

Daishi Odashima
おお、鋭いね。 Another good observation. RT @Klusoya: Leisha wear Kilik's pendant. Does that means kilik is the father ? and is he still alive ?

Just Guard isn’t as powerful as SFIII’s parry system. Just gives you a little bit of advantage.

You can’t do Just Guard by rapidly pressing G. Just thought I’d make that clear cos some people were worried.

After going to EVO I felt that we need to find some pro players to represent SC at these sort of events.

when sf4 fight club took place in LA and sf4 made its first appearance ever...

the place was full of ken vs. ken. -_-;

i think i went on a 4 win streak with zangief.

ah, how times have changed. it's still ken vs. ken but i don't play zangief.
Get hyped for that Ken v. Ken match in 3sOE!
unlike most sf games, ken vs. ken in 3s is one of the most fun matchups.

Sort of off topic but back when I used my Saturn as my fighting game machine of choice, I played the shit out of Street Fighter Alpha 3. It's an amazing port of the game that uses the 4 meg RAM cart to great effect. It would've sold systems in the US if it had been released here (same with X-men/SF, Marvel/SF, and Vampire Savior).

Anyhow, my friend Mardis and I used to battle for hours using random select on SFA3 but at the end of the day, it would always come down to Ryu vs. Evil Ryu. He was regular Ryu, I was evil style and we'd do a best out of three matches run to finish the set of games. I still don't know which version of Ryu was better in Alpha 3, and I don't really care but the matches were a blast.

Alex is the only guy in SF3 that I've used for more than a couple matches so I guess I'll try and stick to him. I have an affinity for fighting game characters who use professional wrestling moves.
I'm now hyped for SF3: Third Strike... time to Strike Back!!!!!!!

Yeah, same here. I'm mostly pumped about the training modes to be honest since this will probably be when I'll want to sit down and get decent with it.

I've had an itch to play 2D sprite fighters right now honestly...

Played T5DRO on PS3 today and I can honestly say I love the rez and fps of it more than T6... give me a Tekken that runs just as good, loads just as fast, and even with lower polys but with TTT2s or T6s system. that'll make me happy.

Depending on what characters there are I usually stick with mental weirdos or military based characters, or both if the same.

Still not sure what to think of some of this shit. I'll wait until I play it to judge.

EX moves sound like straight gimmicky shit IMO.

Go play T6 on PSP.

Well, if you really wanna know, then

and I don't really care
i see.

i really think A3 was a terribly complex game with nuances that could only be explored once the internet exploded.

Yeah the meter and EX moves are lame as shit.

I have 3S on the Anniversary collection but don't have a ton of experience with it. I'm really excited about really learning the game & playing online.

I'll probably be playing Urien &/or Q.

It's funny, I actually enjoyed SCIV. For a sequel though, I just wanted them to go back to the simplicity of past SC games, mainly go back to a SC1 or 2 feel. Instead, they go the complete fucking opposite way. :applause:

There's a streaming trailer for SF:3s online (psn) and on their list of features they mention a GGPO NETCODE. I'm hoping that it works well because people said that Third Strike could be done online due to potential issues with lag and how it could ruin the parry system. (since it's so precise). Anyone ever heard of this GGPO NETCODE, or heard anything about how well this game will work online? For this game to work the online needs to ensure that matches are perfect...because I don't want to see situations where you hit someone, then 3 seconds later it's parried, or you parry someone and it doesn't register.

ken is too fucking cool in 3s, but i'll try to main someone else for the sake of being different.

--

SCIV turned me off from the franchise because of the new look. all the characters look undead. SC2 was awesome.

Sounds like some laggy ass middleware SNK would use in KoFXII.

Makes sense why they required "Kombat Passes" to play online then. Gotta pay the cost of using GGPO.

Can't have greasy freebooters playing online for free with used copies.

Yeah, the GGPO license is expensive.

Thomas, you chat it up in the PS3 forum a lot, right? You should probably make it clear to people that GGPO will ruin 3so just like it ruined MK.

Lol that's alright... Three posts ago I Didn't know what the fuck GGPO was. I figured it was a fancy name for some bullshit.

Can't wait for Third Strike to play the REAL Dudley in terms of voice over, that and did have him drive up in that pimp ass car. Rose Toss KO for the win!!!

That and parrying. That shit should be in SF4.

I still think SF3: Third Strike is the best SF game out there. Just had a whack roster.

Iphone.

hey!!!!

I wrote a eulogy.

or rather, whatever the opposite of a eulogy is,

to a "friend" that was near and dear to all of our hearts.

basically, a week ago, I moved to a new town, and have been exploring here and there to find out where everything is.

and I found it! Popeye's Chicken! a really big one too, you would think maybe Popeye himself worked there!!

so I scope around the building looking at the window signage, I could not find the familiar $1.99 for 2 piece and buscuit that I used to love back at my old place.

so I walk inside and look at the menu... cant figure out how much a smaller chicken count would cost me o_O

so I proceed and ask how much for a 2 piece and biscuit.

the lady is like hmmm... starts doing calculations on the register thing, and ultimately quotes me like $6.

wtf is that?!?!?!

Im like no thank you and walk out, feeling super vexxed coz I had my mind on Popeyes and Popeyes on my mind.

they do do a special thing however, like $1.29 for 2 pieces on tuesdays, but I dont eat Popeyes on tuesday!!!!

it's more of a thing that randomly gets consumed at random times on random weekends!!

on Tuesday, Im in work week mode all trying to be active and healthy n shyt, not lazy like Popeye before he eats his spinach!!

so yeay, Popeyes Chicken... rest in peace!!!
