FGT XX isn't as good as Guilty Gear XX
Who is everyone playing and enjoying in SC5?

Sticking to mainly Siegfried and Astraroth, with a little Leixia mixed in.

Also been just doing random and Edge Master a lot.
So far Raph is my boy, but I'm minoring in Pyrrha Omega and Hilde. I don't have the time on my hands that I used to when SC2 was out. I'm gonna have to settle for not being able to get good with everyone.

I've been looking to main Leixia probably. Not sure what other characters I'm going to minor in. I never seem to do awful with xiba even if I hardly ever use him (probably going back to my seung-mina days). Wouldn't mind trying to learn Ivy or maybe Natsu either.

Of course, the random characters are always fun.

That SCV stick is sweet looking. I have always hated the TE's design of having the start button on the back - that's why I love my HRAP3 (though having select at the top right is also better than the SCV design). I think I'll need to buy one of those eventually and see about dual modding... wonder how long it will take before there are templates for replacing the art.

Also, fuck MadCatz and their sticks anyway. I still haven't gotten any sort of resolution to my broken PCB issue.

Edit: Hmm, dualmodding it looks like a pain because of the ports at the bottom. The PS3 one has the USB ports and the Xbox one has the headphone jack... guess it doesn't bother me too much since I don't play online on XBL anyway.

how good is sc5 netcode?

i remember i hated playing even at 4 bars because i still couldn't block amy's lows in sc4.

i might pick it up to screw around with.

it is surprisingly good. i wasn't expecting much but it's been really good so far. i have only had two bad matches out of about 50 so far.

also, shoutouts to Mad Catz customer service for sending me a new cord cover latch with no hassle. my experience was great, the person was very friendly and prompt.

I guess they are fast for easy to replace stuff, but useless for anything that actually requires effort. Good to know. The guy that Markman put me in contact with (2 months after he promised to, mind you) left me an email almost a week ago saying they would try to find me a PCB, and nothing since then. He even ignored my email asking for update status. I can, and will try to get the word out that MadCatz doesn't give a shit about their customers.

they were pretty awesome to me

Guess they don't like me then. You can say they're good to you, but they have not been nice to me, as I have proven. Shrug. I see no reason why I can't spread negative opinions, I'm the one sitting with a broken and useless TE stick.

it'll only set u back like $2! lol
I've never had to contact them despite beating the living fuck out of this TE almost daily since 2009.

Do I win?
you don't win

just like when you play fighting games

ohhhhhh
you don't win

Hmm... I do tend to lose in them. You may be onto something here.

The PCB was broken on arrival pretty much, my brother didn't really get a chance to use it before he found out it was dead. My own TE has survived beatings as well, and is perfectly fine. The only problem I have is that the glue on a few bolts is gone, so I can barely take off the top without effort and one of the feet is stuck on there permanently.

Edit to stay on topic: I tried out SCV at Best Buy today. Was not really impressed, but I couldn't get much into 3D fighters in general (Tekken, SC, VF, DOA), so I guess that doesn't mean much. I may play it if my brother wants to get it in a year or so, but I can't see myself getting it.

you need to get on their ass then, instead of saying "wah, they don't reply to my emails." use the phone. this applies to almost any customer service i've dealt with.

markman's a good guy; but he's not a saint and he's not in CS.
i'd sure love bill gates to troubleshoot my bluescreen but that's not his job.

AkariK I followed up with the CS team yesterday. We have a PCB for you and it will be sent over. I apologize in advance if our Customer Service team doesn't respond to you right away. I'll have you know if you were the only person we were dealing with, we'd get to you; especially if we had something to update you with.
BTW. I'm using Astaroth more than my main now (Yoshimitsu). He's fun because he requires less thinking/execution. :D
haha I've started using him primarily as well these last couple days. he's a ton of fun.

kainzero: I have tried the phone. Being put on hold for 30 minutes 2 times without even getting to a person is not my idea of fun. I did also try their support center (my ticket is still sitting there ignored). Would you like me to send a letter too? As I said somewhere else, my issue is not so much that Markman did nothing, it's that despite his efforts, I couldn't get a response from their CS from any actual channel I used. Markman tried to get CS to contact me a while back and they still completely ignored me the first time. It took a second try from him to even get me through to a person.

Markman: We'll see how that turns out.
MarkMan, I think the cure to your yellow fever you contracted yesterday would be solved by visiting another palm reader.
A second opinion?

man, wtf, grad school sucks when your professors terrorize your life as well as projects -_-

stuck doing bitch work for my prof and he pulled me in without telling me >_<

bleh... anyway, I have no time for anything but before I forget, I set my free summer time to be around EVO (or Sweden... depending on what happens), and was wondering who wants to get the ball rolling on figuring out shit for going.
You're coming, Rolento. You don't have a choice ^_^
That's why I'm trying to set things in stone ahead of time so shit does happen. Plus, I'll get us some call girls if needed.

Learn UMVC3 before July, so I can play you at EVO.

+1 to MadCatz's awesome customer service. My SFIV fight pad was out of warranty with a dead PCB. I contacted them & they sent me a brand new one. The first time they messed up & accidentally sent me a PS3 one even though I sent in a 360 pad. They let me keep the PS3 pad AND sent me a brand new 360 pad.
you learn soul cal ;)
Never! Me and 3-D games don't work. I can always do what I did at the last session I went to that had SCV and mash all the buttons.

Hey, it's easy sexy ass foreign women for a month Vs 3 days in vegas at a sausage fest... what would you say?

how to not win friends:

-say you're going to do something for 3 years and not do it
-make fun of their hobby and talk about how much cooler you are

I have a girlfriend, so the choice is easy. Even then, my friends and playing Fighting Games competitively mean more to me than random women.

Being able to spend 3 days with friends that I don't see often at all at the two EVOs I've been to, was more than I could ask during those two weekends.

Add in meeting new people, playing/learning lots, having fun, getting drunk, eating good food, going to clubs, seeing Vegas shows and overall hanging out with a ton of my friends, then you make the choice easier.

Ooooh... GAT DAYUM!

That is how you sounded in that post, though, ReRo.
lol

Amen.

BTW. I love hanging out with FGT CAG members but man I can never get away from work while at EVO. That's one thing I hate about going to EVO now. It's more work than enjoyment. So I've flaked for 3-4 years now on dinner ^.^

Also, AkariK, my customer service dept. handling your stuff has taken care of your request. Your PS3 PCB you requested has been sent to you (you should have been contacted). Instead of waiting for more PCBs to come in from our factory; he stripped the PCB from his personal stick to get to you. Hope it helps.

So is anyone picking up BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend this week? I'll be getting it for the 360. I know quite a few of the 360 FGT guys will be picking it up as well.

Hey I'm single and on the hunt, and I know everyone else here who dosn't have a girlfriend (besides Jim, MM, and Hank) is just a virgin. Just stating fact.

So far it's worked for me. Cept I've never been cooler than anyone. I thank Gears and Catan for my success.

Also, wtf? Tekken 3DS is hitting same day my Vita comes in? fuck. I want to play Tekken but I know I wont -_-

Oh, I know. Still feel kinda bad since I wanted to hang out with all of you.

Hopefully you'll be there this year and we all can get a Bellagio Buffet Runback.

I also have to try that Mac N' Cheese place JEKKI kept talking about.
