Fighting Game Thread 8 went so deep, so deep, put that ass to sleep

I dunno... the way Capcom games play is completely different from Namco games. It'd most likely have to change one "team's" playstyle enough that it'd piss off all the fans and make them not want to play it.

Tekken people also jump like pansies by comparison.
 
I think they could do it in the SF 4 style and be fine. Like others said they could add fireballs to a few of the appropriate Tekken/Soul Calibur fighters, but its not like all of the Street Fighters have them either.

Ivy would probably work very well
 
Something tells me that SF-style inputs wouldn't work in Tekken's 3D arenas. And I think having SC characters with weapons would be kinda bullshit. Kilik vs. Dhalsim might be interesting, tho.
 
yeah, weapons don't have to mean anything, just another way to hit.

so wait, is this game confirmed or something? I hope capcom's making it. I also hope it's in a new style--not Vs. series or SF4. New fighting engine plx

More motorkill then me, but I could never really get into Darkstalkers. It was fun the first couple of times I played it, though...FWIW.
 
i remember when cvs and cvs2 came out and all the snk fanboys were like "boo these games suck, snk needs to make them it'll be so much better zomg capcom characters are so overpowered, svc on ngpc was so awesome."

then svc chaos came out.

no one said anything after that.
 
Eh, I got nothing against the Phoenix Wright games. Not my cup of tea is all.

I just think we have plenty Vs. games at the moment. We just got TvC, were getting MvC3 next year, and MvC2 is still insanely popular. Do we really need two more Vs. games? I don't know maybe it's cause I never really cared for Namco as well.
 
I'm a cautious cat, just like Duff Man. If they turn out to be good, then hooray! If they turn out to be like SvC...then let us never speak of them again.
 
Yeah, I mean i'm not rooting against these games or anything. If there good, great more fighting games for me. And if there awful, well that's just more time for me to put into SSF4. Hell, maybe we get lucky and Sega Releases VF5: Final showdown on consoles by then.

I hosted a local fighting game night here because the guy who normally does it had his house flooded. It was pretty fun. Had about 10 people there. Hope more stop by eventually.

Any CAGs in milwaukee, look us up on SRK under the midwest forum and the wisconsin thread. Or PM me on here. We'll play pretty much anything. SSF4, 3S, Alpha 2, TvC, Tekken 6, Neo Geo Games, Melty Blood..

I like the "Avengers Assemble" intro with a team of three Avengers. Also, Thor looks pretty cool. Glad they went with his JMS and Coipel design. I'm hoping the game has alternate costumes (and I don't mean color switches).
 
I'm a little bummed that Punisher isn't going to make the cut but I can understand why. I was kind of hoping he'd be like the new Cable, but I guess Chris Redfield will do.
 
Amaterasu looks pretty kick ass...wish I could test her moves out as it seems like she can do it all...

In any case, they still have more characters to reveal. It's sounds like it's going to be pretty nuts. How will I choose from them all?

Sure, Punisher is too much like Chris Redfield.

That's why they should put in FRANKEN-CASTLE instead.
 
I'm having an issue with my fightpad. I sent MarkMan a PM but I'll post it here since maybe you guys can help....

My Chun-Li Fightpad that I've had since before the SF4 launch is having problems. It had been acting kind of funny for the past few weeks where I'd have to plug it in a few times to get it to recognize. Now it doesn't work at all on my 360 or computer. I occasionally get a single green light when I plug it in but it still won't pick up.

I've tried like 3-4 different breakaway cables (from TEs, SEs, and OEM Xbox controllers) and that doesn't solve the issue. Any thoughts/suggestions or is it just toast?
 
You guys have no idea how happy I am to see Thor in MvC3. Seriously, I'm in tears.

I have no idea what's going on in Marvel/DC comics anymore.

I've forced myself to only read complete stories or miniseries mostly now... then again I miss reading comics.
