Given the huge number of Florida CAGs on this board now, it seems like a good time to start pooling our knowledge to make the most of our time (and gas!).

I'll get things started...I'll try to keep this updated as new info is posted. If you have any info on Florida stores that you'd like to share, please post it here!

Best Buy
Altamonte Springs (SR 436): still some $10 games as of 9/13; no Y's or Paper Mario [mgreig]
Gainesville (Archer Road): limited stock, bad customer service [Msia]
Lakeland: Layout is strange, but they tend to keep stock during sales. Individual checkout lanes. [kojubat]
Melbourne: unorganized staff [Msia]
Miami (Pembroke Pines): Generally has nothing in stock unless you are lucky and people there don't knw what they are doing. [s3v3n777]
Miami (Hialeah): This is a pretty decent store. One of the original BB in Miami and still has a great selection and relatively good customer service. [s3v3n777]
Miami (Bird Road): I'd say this is the best Best Buy that I know of. Their selection is the best, and the people there are always nice. Usually not that busy and in a pretty quiet little corner. [s3v3n777]

Miami (Pembroke Pines): This store is good but their video game dept. is a mess. [s3v3n777]

Orlando (Florida Mall): Decent selection, disinterested staff. [kojubat]
Orlando (West Colonial): Good selection, sale games are usually clearly marked and gathered during clearances. Helpful staff. [kojubat]
Orlando (Millenia Mall): Horrible game selection, hardly any shelf space. New store. [kojubat]

Gainseville (Oaks Mall): good place to shop [Msia]

Target at St. John's Towncenter has an awful "clearence" rack as far as games go, but I picked up a 512 MB Mp3 player for $30, so I can't complain. They had tons of copies of Timesplitters: Future Perfect (PS2) for $19.99...it's not officially a "greatest hit" yet, but it will be very soon.

GameStop at the Towncenter had nothing worthwhile, nor did EB, unless really annoying, naggy employees counts.

Isn't that the truth

Anyone know of any stores in miami around the kendall area? I can't find anything aside from the typical BB, TRU, GS/EB.

Any good pawn shops or stores that sell used games?

Any one looking for 360s, Target @ Regency has both (as of when I left at 4) and if they are out, there should be two cases in the back, just ask them to check.

Any Jax peoples have plans for this weekend? There is a place thats having a couple of console/PC tournaments. I propose a Jacksonville CAG meetup. Drinks on me!

EB on Southside has a few used PC games on clearence. I got Call of Duty for $5.99 and Battlefield 1942 for $3.99. Unfortunately, I just realized that they gave me a second copy of Call of Duty in the Battlefield 1942 case, along with the Battlefield expansion pack, which doesn't do me any good without the original game. Sigh...

Anyways, there should be another copy of Call of Duty and Battlefiled Vietnam still there. Prices aren't as marked. I also saw The Punisher, The Sims Deluxe, and "meh" stuff like Project Snowblind.

Back in the early days of CAG, when they had CAG Meetup, we had one setup for Jacksonville CAGS but only myself and two other showed up. It was cool to hang out with those cats but not fun if everyone doesn't show up.

It seems like its grown for Jax:
You
WhipSmart
RoZZ
Gamerguy
Me
couple others im too lazy to reference.

It would be fun to put a face to the name and talk with other cheapasses.

Eh I'd show up and meet you all but my high school graduation is this friday... oh yea im going to a strip club saturday. Any suggestions for a good strip club around San Marco/Arlington? Hell we should have a cag meetup at one.

I'd be a no show this weekend if it was to go down but I'm open to future ones if possible.

I haven't been to any strip clubs in the san marco area, just the Gold Club right off of Atlantic.

I wouldn't be able to make it either - graduation parties and such. No offense to you guys, but strip clubs aren't exactly my thing (yet?)...I'm still in high school. Maybe some other time.

Pretty busy CAG weeks coming up... CC for tomorrow and EB/GS for the week after. Good thing Jax has a couple dozen around the city (EB/GS)

Just got back from my Circuit City ad run.
The CC at Regency has everything, and plenty of copies of Dragon Quest VIII. They also have a bin of $1.99 games with a bunch of current gen games, then a second bin with a bunch of PS1 and Dreamcast(!) games. I was lucky enough to find a copy of Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 in there.

Best Buy doesn't have as many copies of the games, so don't try to pricematch there.

I also went to the Super Wal*Mart on Beach (closer to University) and tried to pricematch there, but they didn't have much. They did, however, have a copy of We Love Katamari for $14.99 on the back isle of their games section. Good luck to anyone else trying to hit this sale!

Hotness, thanks!

I checked this morning to see if we had put them out but will only have the silver DS. I took a call asking for the Lite, I was wondering if it was any of you guys lol.

If we do by some chance break date, I'll post it.

[quote name='Hot Like Wasabi']I hit CC @ Regency after work, no luck with DQVIII[/QUOTE]

I hear some douche bought the limit of games TWICE and went to Rhino to trade 2 for 1. What pisses me off is what i hear is that he came in with like 7 copies of Marc Ecco 4 DQVIII and tries to trade all of them in AND SHOWS THEM THE AD of the 9.99 sale. The manager promptly called home office so that they would drop the price (thus not qualify for trade 2 get 1 free). If that damn troll is on this fucking forum, go fuck yourself Mike. Use some goddamn common sense you high school reject.

Just a heads up to any one in the area, SCEA is hiring here in Jax for a part time merchandiser, which is a cake. I've got an interview today but because of my full time job, I don't think I would be able to take it if offered.

You can find the info for it at playstation.com

i think they go around put up signs and make sure that stores are stocked with playstation stuff. I hope a CAG gets it. A CAG plant in SONY!!!

That's awful. Try pricematching. I actually got Dragon Quest and Infected (PSP) at Best Buy through a pricematch before going to Circuit City, but Circuit City ended up having even more than Best Buy did, as reflected in my post...

BB is having a "mega game sale" noticable is the hotshot golf for the psp for only 9.99. This was at the BB in Hialeah, FL.

Expect the pad to be busted in 2 months too... cause tilt regency is the only decent place in Jax with DDR love

Tilt is just about the only good arcade left in Jacksonville, but it still can't compare to their old location at the Landing. Remember the giant pirate ship in the middle of the floor? That was one of the best shootout games I've ever played.

[quote name='sying']Everyone be sure to be safe this week.[/QUOTE]

hurricanes lol

Seriously though, this is a GOOD thing. We really need the rain. I went down to Melbourne last weekend and passed wild fires all up and down I-95.

[quote name='sying']As of noon today, it doesn't look like there will be MASSIVE DAMAGE[/QUOTE]
I know, what's up with this? The sun is out and saying, "HUUUURRRR?"

Looks like some real time switching took place

I just moved to Jax from Tampa. I'm off of Kernan and Beach. I play both Live and WiFi, but my TV and all systems except for the DS will be in storage until they're delivered on the 27th. i have a few DS games with me, so those will keep me busy, along with WoW.

I'm just down the road at San Pablo and Beach. If you have Mario Kart DS, let me know and we will duke it out on Wifi even though I'm not to good at it.

i do have that with me. i also have metriod prime: hunters (not too far into the game, put it down for New SMB).
not sure how to make sure that we can play against eachother though.

We jax people should Uno sometime to just shoot the shit. Id like to put a voice.... at least a gamertag to the avitar

sounds good. once i take delivery of my household goods on the 27th and hook up my systems again, i'd be more than happy to do that. also, i tried to arrange some meet-ups in tampa, but they never panned out. once i'm acquainted to the area and start to hit up yard sales, pawn shops, and CAG advertised sales, i'd like to see if you can start holding little swap meets.
let me know what you think.
