I stopped into Best Buy today to pick up some 2 for 20 movies for my mom, when i spied a burnout revenge demo for ps2 just lying at the checkout counter. It rang up as $0.00. The store had about 30 of them, so your store might have them to. Now off to play it to see if it is better than BO3.

Does anyone know if the Buffalo/Amherst/Whatever northtown city it is has any?

I really, really hate going to that BB for personal reasons.
Not the least bit true. Microsoft paid a fee to nvidia to allow ati to run an EMULATOR of their drivers, and they are only tweaking that environment for the most popular games.
You are mistaken. They paid the royalty to make virtually every game compatible. They said there might be a few games with issues, but they would hope to correct them as they go along with downloads.

Do a Google search for "xbox 360 nvidia" for more info.
I was wondering the same thing. I had heard that Burnout Revenge was going to be a demo with Madden 06, but were these the demos and they just put them out? Maybe that's why certain stores have them in the back still?
I thought the demo for burnout was already on the Madden 06 disc. These were to just be put out. Why is BB so confused about stuff like this?
LOL!! Jail time for distrubuting a free demo? Yeah right.
It's a copyright you don't own. Your liable for $10,000 per viloation. Where's your brain?

i'm pretty sure the burnout demo is in madden 06. as in already burned into the game. these discs are just for the people who aren't getting madden i suppose

I love my Best Buy, they're really nice and helpful and I made them look for like an hour for this CD and they finally found it in the back and gave it to me for a discount. They usually have what I'm looking for anyway. I'm sorry you guys have such bad experiences with them.
Yeah, I played for about 20 minutes and dropped out of the world twice. The screen just goes blue, and you can hear crashes and stuff, but can't see anything.
Yeah, I got the same glitch. I thought my Xbox was screwed...
Isnt it cheaper to put it on a CD?
Well yeh, but then why have the xbox demo on a dvd? Then again, can xbox run cd games?

You need to take a couple of business law classes, or just look at all the hacker law suits out there, they specify that you cannot "decompile" or "disassemble" the game in any way, and that would include even ripping it off a cd and making a mass file available for it.

Was gonna ask you the same thing, junior. Viloation?

Show me where it says this.

Picked this up today on my lunch hour. Actually hadn't played any Burnout game before this. Good stuff.

Yikes. I'm not sure if you're trying to e-rage or if you're just that moronic.
Hmmmm... the problem with a dedicated graphics driver huh? Royalties and junk. I guess that's why the PS2 had no problems being backward compatible since it didn't have an established third party chip or driver running the graphics. I wonder how big of a difference was it for MS to choose ATI this time around. IMHO Nvidia still has a very strong chip and going toe to toe against ATI is not a problem. And the other things is, developers like team ninja and others who made AAA games for the xbox are familiar with programming for Nvidia already, why suddenly change? Well, either way, here's hoping for even more stunning jaw dropping results from the new systems.
The PS2 maintained backwards compatibility by including the PSOne core processor as an I/O processor. It wasn't a big issue, since there were no licensing royalties and the hardware was cheap enough to include by then. Even by including the original processor, there are PSOne games that won't play as designed in a PS2, though they are few and far between.

Graphics hardware has made leaps and bounds during the 4 or so product cycles that have passed since the Xbox was released, so it is likely that developers would have had to learn as much with the new nVidia chips as they would have with ATI. Programming for multiple cores and hardware threads on the CPU and GPU will be a big enough challenge for developers. We won't likely see games that fully utilize the power of the hardware for years to come.

...back on topic now...

I picked up a few extra demos for Xbox and PS2, so anyone who didn't get one and would like one could PM me.

There were only six PSone games that didn't run on the PStwo. I believe Final Fantasy Anthology was one them as well as a Pac-Man game.

Go to Barnes and Nobles, pick up a business law book and look at copyrights and intellectual properties. Sheesh

More likely the latter.

The irony in that statement. I'm not trying to instigate, but I'm just thinking if everyone did not take more than 1 for themselves, then there would be copies left on the shelves for everyone else who wants one no? :whistle2:k

No, Xbox is DVD games only.
Has anyone else played the both the ps2 and xbox versions and noticed how much better the xbox demo looks?
Oh, yeah. I played it in my Xbox first, and when I switched to my Ps2 to see how it was, I was astonished. The Xbox version literally blows it away in every single way. The textures on the Xbox are just in a much higher resolution, I imagine.

I just picked it up yesterday. They were in the case is the VG department. The guy said they were free with purchase, but he gave it to me anyways.

Nice game, too bad it only lasts like two minutes.

Thanks OP.

wow... I went in specifically to get it, and while looking through the XB section, was about to give up looking for it and one of the cute females working there comes up and hands me one... didnt even have to ask for it

Picked up the PS2 Burnout Revenge disc this morning (no Xbox copies left), along with demo discs of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (for PS2 and Xbox).
I was at Best Buy today and they had the Burnout game playing in their xbox kiosk. It looks really sweet! Too bad they don't make it for the cube : (
Why no GC version?

That's beating an age old dog beyond death. By hardware stats alone the xbox version should always look better than the PS2 version. something would be wrong if it didn't. And let's not even start about how much better it looks when viewed through a vga adapter on a nice lcd!

Wasn't there some effect that was in the PS2 version of Burnout 3 that wasn't in the Xbox version?

So, will these be around until the game is released? My BB had some a week or so ago, so I'll try and pick up a few for those that haven't found them.

My Best Buy has dozens and dozens of these for both systems, but they won't let you have them unless you preorder the game. It doesn't make any sense to me, but that's usually how Best Buy operates.

um... not really. If you look at the IGN head to head, there was some more pronounced spark effects like when your car grinds against the wall or another car. That's about it.

That was it? Hmm. I remember reading a review where the guy was uber pissed off. Guess it doesn't matter.

Finally got one. And a couple more copies for a couple of my friends. At first the cashier said I could only take one copy, but after ringing up my penny guides, he said, "I'm not supposed to be doing this," and placed in the 2 extra copies in the bag.

:D

I'm gonna go hunting for these tomorrow. I'm not too hopeful though. Around here they seem to only give shit away if you preorder. We'll see.
