Just looking for trade-in prices? Well, check out what's been reported:
GameRush Trade-In Prices Wiki
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

50% Off Sale

Edit: It looks as though more games are being added to the 50% off list on 3/25/07. Here's what jaybsooner is reporting:
Hey guys, just a head's up. Went to my local Gamerush today (03/24/07), noticed they had put a ton of the NEW games they had for sale on a side counter. The manager told me they were being added to the 50% off sale. These were new additions to the previous sale. He let me look at the list he had for his store of the pulled games. PS2, XBOX, PSP, Gamecube, and 360 were on the list, the majority of the list (about half) was original XBOX, with about 20% PS2, rest a mix of 360, Gamecube, and PSP.

Can't recite the list verbatim, but you may want to check with your local game rush, I believe the actual list may vary from store to store, based what they have in inventory.

If you want, post what titles you are interested in and I will do my best to recall if it was included on the list, but I would suggest going to you local Gamerush and scout it out today!!
The prices will be listed on the price drop reports as 1 cent drops making the game prices end in .98. The 50% will be automatically deducted when the employee hits the Total button. It's very unlikely that there is any signage or changes in prices actually displayed at the stores yet.

Okay, details are still rolling in and we don't have a full list yet, but we're getting there.

FAQ (Read before you ask a question.)

Q: Are used games included?
A: No, this is only for new games.

Q: Is this sale going on at normal Blockbusters?
A: Yes, as long as it is not a franchise Blockbuster. Most Blockbusters are not franchise locations. Call your local store and ask if they are a corporate or a franchise store if you are unsure or check a past receipt to see if it says "Blockbuster Franchisee".

Q: The games are scanning at full price, is this sale for real?
A: You won't get the discount until the employee hits "Total" on the register.

Q: Do Blockbuster gift cards work at Gamerush?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this going on nationwide?
A: Yes, but see details on franchise locations above.

Q: My blockbuster employees say they don't know anything about the sale, is this sale real or happening in my area?
A: It's a good thing that they don't know and see above franchise locations information.

Q: If I ask something that is clearly laid out here in the OP, will shipwreck make fun of me?
A: Probably.

(All prices are after the 50% off discount.)
As far as I was told, it is on new games only, and is 50% off the marked price. The list was also laying on the back counter and I perused it. The list of games are for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, PSP, and Xbox360. There are no DS games.

I wrote down the Xbox360 games since I thought those would be the most interesting. There were not many PSP games and the ones on the list were not very exciting. So without further ado, the Entire Xbox360 50% Off GameRush Listing:

System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.
Stopped by two of my local gamerushes yesterday and they were both doing some major consolidation work.

Gone is the giant metal case that holds new titles, and 'the wall' of new titles has been replaced with movies. So now movies encompass the entire border of the store. Any new current gen games (including psp) are getting phased out and put next to the rentals (not on the wall, but on the shelves perpendicular to the old wall). New PS3 and X360 games are moved next to their rental brothers, but it didn't look like they had gotten new titles, but I didn't study that too closely.

Gone is most of the Gamerush signage and the desk looks like it is set to undergo a change as well. The case behind the desk is gone too.

I was most shocked with no more new PSP games. Anyone else stopped in to check things out lately?
Yep. Same thing at mine. However, when I asked if they were going to quit selling video games, all they would say was they needed more room. From what I saw, I think they are at least cutting way back on games.

What BB do you go too? The one on N 7 in Blue Springs is actually adding crap regardless of the border stuff, they added DS games and a lot more for sale video games.
Blockbuster sold its game division in the U.K. It was called Game Station, and had 217 stores. Not a good sign.
Full story
First Rhino, now Game Station.

Bye bye Gamerush.
What BB do you go too? The one on N 7 in Blue Springs is actually adding crap regardless of the border stuff, they added DS games and a lot more for sale video games.
Maybe for the DS, but not for anything else. I didn't check the DS because I don't have one of those. That store has around 5 new titles for each system, less for PSP if I remember. Plus all the accessories they used to carry have been moved and trimmed down to nothing for current gen, very little for next gen.
I pre-ordered Zelda for the Gamecube back in 2005 (put down all of the purchase price) and never picked it up. What do i do if they no longer have my pre-order in their system?
Ouch - you have to go in and ask them to call corporate to look up your extended history. They will need to verify that you had the preorder and didn't cancel it since then. Then hopefully they will just give you $50 in credit to spend on something else. Many of us went through that last Fall. For some it was easy, for others difficult (like me), and I think some were not able to get their credit back (or we never heard updates when they did).

As for GR downsizing the store - mine was headed that way as well before they shut down, which is ridiculous because the store was huge and full of movies already. The games were making money and the movies losing money, yet they were adding more movie sections. Go figure...

I actually need a credit builder as I want to get a second 360 controller and my local Blockbuster has one. It is in "archaic white" unfortunately ;), but I'm a cheap-ass so I don't need to spend $50 in real money just to have a second black one. Is Rave Master still $9.50? Anything else that is $5 (after coupon) at Best Buy trade for anything?

Scoped out my GR this evening (near Antioch mall in KC)... I saw one sign for the buy 2 get one free on used games. The gaming section was depleted. I saw a stack of about 60 games behind the counter that I guess they were getting ready to ship off or destroy. I also saw a stack of about 20 strat guides pulled back behind the counter. I guess they're in the process of reducing the gaming section at my store too. If they decide to discontinue it all together I hope they have some big clearance sale especially on the next gen stuff.

Take it as a lesson learned... do no preorder games anymore.
Take it as a lesson learned... do no preorder games anymore.
Well, I'm assuming he used that trade 2 get a preorder for $30 deal. We all did. I haven't seen Zelda available for any better deal than that to this day.

If GR never brings back those preorder deals (and it appears they are not) then I won't miss my GR too much. It sure is nice preordering at stores where I know I'll actually get any given game, instead of playing the wait-and-see-maybe-it-will-be-Friday-maybe-never game I played with GR though .

I was at my GameRush a week ago, and they had a load of PS2 and XBox games. They've always been that way actualy. After stopping in today though, there was only about 10-15 games on the shelve for PS2 and even less for Xbox. All of the used games were still there though. PSP games were almost gone as well...though they weren't getting new PSP games for the past couple of months. It was just weird though, one week over 100+ games for ps2 and xbox, next week there is next to nothing :(

My store seems to havea normal amount of stuff....still all the clearanced XBOX stuff. It does look like some stuff is going. As long as I get my Halo 3 that has been paid for, I'm happy. I only have like $70 in credit, but looking to unload a few more games (if Madden 07 360 gets anything decent)

I haven't been to that one in awhile, are you referring to the new games or all of them including the used ones? A big clearance would be nice. By any chance do you know why the BB/GR east of the Antioch Mall was shutdown?

I been there couple times & pickup couple cheap ass games. Also, do not forget stop by sears store cos sometime you score big items. I tried to go down there this week but the Gas is too expensive to drive that far !!

You are correct sir. This was back when GR had the best trade-in deals around, and I had store credit to burn.

If GR never brings back those preorder deals (and it appears they are not) then I won't miss my GR too much. It sure is nice preordering at stores where I know I'll actually get any given game, instead of playing the wait-and-see-maybe-it-will-be-Friday-maybe-never game I played with GR though .

Anybody see Elite 360s at Gamerush?
Well I talked to a guy at my local GR in the DFW area and he called some manager who was in charge of inventory and supposedly corporate will sell the Elite however they have a different "launch" day...he wouldn't say when but it would be sometime soon. The inventory person said they already had them in a warehouse but due to some contract agreement or something they didn't launch on 4/29 like everyone else. He also said not all stores will even get them, so only count on high traffic GR ones (that aren't in the process of closing down that is). Having said that unless you have credit to burn I don't suggest buying it there. Amazon has them now with free shipping and no tax.

Yeah, when I called they said that they would get them in, but they were not sure when. I still have a little more credit to burn, so I'll pick one up at GR if they get them in.
I haven't been to that one in awhile, are you referring to the new games or all of them including the used ones? A big clearance would be nice. By any chance do you know why the BB/GR east of the Antioch Mall was shutdown?
The one east of the mall was the store closest to my house. It sucked when they shut that one down because it was right on the way home. I was told that it was an under performing store and they had two more within a mile radius (the regular BB off of Chouteau and the GR near Antioch shopping center).

When I was there yesterday the racks near the rental games were still full but the ones along the outer walls of the building were pretty bare. They still had a used PS3, a couple new DS lites, a few PS3 accessories, and a couple Xbox 360 accessories locked away in the glass case near the GR counter.

Picked up Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2 for 50% off (15 bucks) yesterday. Didn't notice it at 50% off before, but they may just not have marked it before... doubt they got in new stock.

Traded in the following:
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (Wii) $30
MLB 07 The Show (PS2) $19

Took the credit & purchased these titles:
Destroy All Humans 2 (PS2) $25
Field Commander (PSP) $25
Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance II (Xbox) FREE

The racks seem bare after sending out all of the clearanced games. I'm lucky that I found some decent games with the lack of selection that they had.

Maybe I'll stop in again today to see if they have any Elite accessories. I'm tempted to use the rest of my credit on a 120GB HDD.

If not, I have free rentals to use.

Whoo-hoo, I just got $75 in Blockbuster gift cards from Coke Rewards (I am down to $20 in trade-in credit). I would love to get another black controller but that will not happen any time soon for me. So I may just buy one of the white ones my local Blockbuster has. It will match the Wii anyway ;).

I know this is off topic but I love how coke rewards now offers Wii and DS Lite systems. Only problem is you need like 3000 pts for the DS Lite and over 6000 pts for the Wii. I have been saving points for the last 8 months and I'm only up to about 800.

I bought a 50% off PSP game yesterday...all the local Gamerush stores still have the clearance games on display and they still ring up at 50% off, so I guess they didn't trash them or send them back at the end of April like some one said they were going to.

My wins from the GameRush in Cleveland Heights, OH (Severance):
LOTR: BFME II (360) = $14.99
Test Drive: Unlimited = $14.99

There was still a LOTR left and many other games.

Wow, that's amazing. They've always had crap up there. When it first started (and I wasn't paying any attention to it) they had PS2's and PSP's for very low point totals.

I was up to about 1000 but then I got the $75 in Blockbuster gift cards for 750 points. I'm trying to build up to that again - hopefully it will still be there at that point (if it is even left now). Seems like a much better deal if you have a GR that carries DS Lites and Wiis to get the gift cards and buy them there - less than half the points comapred to getting them directly.

I'm surprised they are carrying Nintendo stuff, though, as they seemed to be affiliated with Sony there for a while (they had Sony Style gift cards too).

Looks like my GR pulled most of the 50% off games also. The only ones I recall were the empty boxes that they use to display 360 games.

I still forgot to check the Madden 07 (360) trade in value....oops.

One small (bizarre) note - my GR (Orange City, FL) is now renting DS games. They have never had DS or GBA rentals before, but all of a sudden they have a whole rack of DS games for rent, including all the Pokemon games and all the Mario games (even Mario Hoops!). Perhaps this is another sign of GR going away from new game sales and towards rentals?

All GR's use to have DS games. They got rid of them in favor of PSP rentals....and they are now getting rid of PSP rentals for DS games. GameRush (BB) and Sony have always been like this, as evidence by the amount of Blu-Ray titles they stock vs. HD DVD.
Anyone got the trade-in price for that Tony Hawk Wii /PS3 game? (See the Costco thread). Could be a good flipper.
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam (Wii) trades in for $30. It trades in for $28 at Gamecrazy after MVP. Not sure what the value of the PS3 version is. I assume it is similar.
Anybody know recent trade value for CoD3 (X360), Lost Planet, and Motorstorm?
I traded CoD3 in about 2 weeks ago and got $32.
yea, all 50% stuff has been sent back.
Some of the stores in my area still have 50% off displays, and a few put some of the games back on the racks but got rid of the rest. Weird.

Edit: Tony Hawk's Project 8 for the 360 still gets $32 as of Tuesday afternoon.

Hey, guess what? I actually traded games in today, just like the good ol' days:

PSP Gunpey: $12.50
PSP Pac Man World Rally: $15
GC Rave Master: $9.50

All were $5 AC at Best Buy and attracting no interest on my trade list. I need to clear some of this crap out. The Gunpey and Pac Man PSP games were a surprise. I also asked about Exit ($7 I think) Go Sudoku ($4 I think), and One Piece Grand Adventure for GC: a mighty $1.25 for that one .

I needed a second Xbox 360 wireless controller so my boys can play Lego Star Wars together (and later Table Tennis). My local little BB actually had 2 of them along with 2 Sixaxis controllers. I think they actually got transferred here from the GR that shut down.

So, anyway, $15 in games and $13 more from a free gift card (from Coke Rewards) netted me a new 360 controller - not bad...

It seems BB/GR is still good for trading any fairly recent PSP games, in any case. Same with Gamecrazy, really. For whatever reason it always seems like PSP games are the best credit builders. Oh, they also told me that are no longer taking GBA games in trade - but this might just be a local decision. The values on those were generally so crappy it doesn't really matter.

Some trade-in quotes I got tonight:

Xbox Bible Game - $1.25
Xbox Demon Stone - $6.00
Xbox Dragonball Z Sagas - $1.25
PS2 One Piece: Pirate Carnival - $6.00
DS Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - $10.00

Ah io, I take it you didn't get in on the Tony Hawk Costco goodness? Classic Gamerush flipping at its best.

Not really - and not for lack of trying. My local Costco's (and I went to 4 of them!) were all seriously understocked for those titles. On the very last day I asked them to check stock and they said they hadn't had the Wii version (I wanted both the Wii and 360 versions to play) since March. I didn't ask about the 360 one but I assume it was the same. They said none in my area had it, but right up I-5 in the Seattle area they still had 360 THP8 in large quantities. Just not my luck I guess, though I did snag one PS3 version on the very first day of the sale (when they had plenty - went back the very next day and they were wiped clean). After considering keeping it for the eventual day I get a PS3, I ended up trading it into Gamecrazy for $35, so I didn't miss out entirely. I wouldn't have bothered with Blockbuster trading as I don't really need much credit there these days ;). I only made the GC/PSP trades I did today because I wanted that 360 controller and also had some games that I wanted to get rid of and BB gave by far the best trade-in for them (didn't even bother checking EB/GS even with their pathetic little bonus promo).

But, man, I wish I had one of these Costcos that still had all 3 versions in stock late this week (as some CAG's reported). At THAT point I wouldn't have felt bad at all cleaning them out for BOTH trade-ins and at-cost sale to CAG's. Since the instant rebate ended the 11th I figured any stock still left on the 10th (1 week after the sale started) was fair game.

So, do the Tony Hawk games get $35ish still at GameRush? I may trade a PS3 copy to build up some credit for the new Football games coming out. I just hope GameRush stay around for that long...although, they DID have a pre-order list on the counter, with things like GTA IV which was the farthest game in the future.

My Gamerush repriced a few 50% off titles. They changed Sopranos for PS2 to $20, therefore $10 after 50% off. I went ahead and picked it up.

Most likely that GR forgot to mark down that title. I picked that title weeks ago from my local GR for $10.

I went into my local Blockbuster and was going to purchase four XBOX 360 games at 50% and the clerk attempted to handy me four empty shells. I asked for the games and he said they must have been stolen. I then went to another store which had the buy 2 preowned get 1 free deal going on. I picked up Resistance:Fall of Man (PS3), FEAR (XBOX 360), and RainbowSix Vegas (XBOX 360) with the remainder of store credit that I had from flipping a year ago. Anyone know the trade values on these games?

Wow so the buy 2 get 1 pre-owned applies to all systems including PS3?

I have not been following the gamerush deals, but the staff called another store and they said do it as long as they were preowned and not new. From past expierence the clerks have a barcode they scan but the girl could not find it so she manually "credited" 44.99 for FEAR.

The signs at my BB specifically exclude next gen systems. My guess is it is the same way at pollayer1's store too, but the employee didn't know that ;).
