Just looking for trade-in prices? Well, check out what's been reported:
GameRush Trade-In Prices Wiki
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

50% Off Sale

Edit: It looks as though more games are being added to the 50% off list on 3/25/07. Here's what jaybsooner is reporting:
Hey guys, just a head's up. Went to my local Gamerush today (03/24/07), noticed they had put a ton of the NEW games they had for sale on a side counter. The manager told me they were being added to the 50% off sale. These were new additions to the previous sale. He let me look at the list he had for his store of the pulled games. PS2, XBOX, PSP, Gamecube, and 360 were on the list, the majority of the list (about half) was original XBOX, with about 20% PS2, rest a mix of 360, Gamecube, and PSP.

Can't recite the list verbatim, but you may want to check with your local game rush, I believe the actual list may vary from store to store, based what they have in inventory.

If you want, post what titles you are interested in and I will do my best to recall if it was included on the list, but I would suggest going to you local Gamerush and scout it out today!!
The prices will be listed on the price drop reports as 1 cent drops making the game prices end in .98. The 50% will be automatically deducted when the employee hits the Total button. It's very unlikely that there is any signage or changes in prices actually displayed at the stores yet.

Okay, details are still rolling in and we don't have a full list yet, but we're getting there.

FAQ (Read before you ask a question.)

Q: Are used games included?
A: No, this is only for new games.

Q: Is this sale going on at normal Blockbusters?
A: Yes, as long as it is not a franchise Blockbuster. Most Blockbusters are not franchise locations. Call your local store and ask if they are a corporate or a franchise store if you are unsure or check a past receipt to see if it says "Blockbuster Franchisee".

Q: The games are scanning at full price, is this sale for real?
A: You won't get the discount until the employee hits "Total" on the register.

Q: Do Blockbuster gift cards work at Gamerush?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this going on nationwide?
A: Yes, but see details on franchise locations above.

Q: My blockbuster employees say they don't know anything about the sale, is this sale real or happening in my area?
A: It's a good thing that they don't know and see above franchise locations information.

Q: If I ask something that is clearly laid out here in the OP, will shipwreck make fun of me?
A: Probably.

(All prices are after the 50% off discount.)
As far as I was told, it is on new games only, and is 50% off the marked price. The list was also laying on the back counter and I perused it. The list of games are for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, PSP, and Xbox360. There are no DS games.

I wrote down the Xbox360 games since I thought those would be the most interesting. There were not many PSP games and the ones on the list were not very exciting. So without further ado, the Entire Xbox360 50% Off GameRush Listing:

System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.

I assume so. All they gave me was a receipt that says Tendered Credit on Account with the games I traded. Think I could buy a gift card with credit? :whistle2:k

I would ask them if you can transfer the credit to a gift card. I thought the last time I traded in they gave me a gift card with the amount on it.

io, are you out there? I know you're sort of the GR/BB guru...

They did that to me the first time I traded in at a BBV/GR near me - put my trade-ins as store credit on my BBV account and it wasn't usable at any other BBV or GR. When I did another trade-in, I asked them to put the new credit and any remaining credit left on my BBV account onto a gift card (called their "Value Card"). Now every time I trade in, I hand them my Value Card and they know what to do.

Exact same thing happened to me. Shouldn't be a problem for you to get the credit transferred to a card.
I am going to be posting these every week now, figured they should go here. All price changes that I can get that start on Sundays at blockbuster.

Hardware Price Changes:
PS3 20gb: New 399.99 Buyback Price 245.00
PS2: 69.99 Buyback: 30.00
Xbox: 59.99 Buyback: 25.00
Xbox 59.99?? for pre-owned one? that is a good price if you could fina a good one.

Yes, you can get the credit put on a gift card or value card. But if you don't ask for it, just like at Gamecrazy, they will put it on your account.. I've never seen a chain that made store credit universally available at all locations (if it is just stored on the computer).

So, yeah, always ask for a value card when you do your trades. But it should be no problem getting it transferred onto one from the first store.

the last trade i did, last week with Enchanted Arms, they asked me if i wanted it on the account. i told them to put it on a card. i asked him if he could put it on one of my existing cards. he said no. this was weird. what was weirder comes next. i had ~$66 on my account already from a store error in my favor. i asked for that to be put on the card as well (along with the $36 from EA). he said they couldn't do that anymore. he said once it goes on the account it stays on there.

i wasn't going to make any kind of a scene about it since i didn't put it on there and it really shouldn't be there to begin with. what's even stranger is that he said that they can transfer to any store i want to use it at. he said they just started doing this.

Whoever helped you (I use the word helped loosely here) was a blathering idiot who probably just started working at BB not too long ago. Credit can be placed on a gift card, and can be added to an existing gift card. Whoever tells you otherwise is simply a blight to the earth and customer service. Some employees simply do not know (especially at regular BBs) how to operate the gift card reload barcodes (three codes located on the back). If the store continues to deny your gift card, threaten to contact corperate first, and if they don't comply, act on your threat.

I also forgot to mention that yes, BB's computers are now linked, and you might possibly be able to transfer your credit from store to store. Are you likely to find a store that will simply transfer the credit (especially a large amount like $66)? Maybe, maybe not. Still, I'd simply rather have the gift card than have to deal with two stores trying to transfer credits.
Xbox 59.99?? for pre-owned one? that is a good price if you could fina a good one.
MY store has a HALO 2 Green XBOX that someone traded in, been there for at least a few weeks.

I guess someone also traded in a Wii (gone instantly) and a 360 recently too. (They said they did that to get a PS3 with the price drop).
Thanks, Gwen - I was just about to do it after our CAG Bomberman session (played online with Ship and Wombat for the first time ;)).
Oh I'm able to get a real connection in my home, I'm playing on xbox live. Yeah yeah yeah. Your plan to make me jealous and join the community is NOT working. At all. Nope. *kicks dirt*

As for your request, I've done the same many a time .
That's cause you're the awesomest of awesome cags.
Well if anybody wants to add these to the list.

Xbox 360

Call of duty 2 $15.00 GOTY edtion is not in their system.
Chromehounds $12.00
Legos Star Wars II $10.00
Done, because I wasn't having fun playing on xbox live with io. *sulks*

Thanks for the price changes, Sulik.

Heh. I saw the clerk that took care of the trade-ins (he's kind of the slave of the store). Anyways, another guy was taking care of me, after noting that I should've been offered a Value card and looking at the trade-in guy. For whatever reason, they couldn't give me a normal Value card, so I got a Transformers gift card instead :)

Oh, I didn't mean it that way - I meant I always ask people to alphabetize and otherwise organize their trade-in price list posts (as you did) but it usually gets ignored. But thanks for the compliment anyway ;).

And hopefully you'll get your Internets sorted out soon and join us. XBL games with CAG's are fun. And Cheapy is all talk - he won't actually strip in front of the camera (and show us his "niz-nacks") when he wins a Bomberman match (though he will threaten to).
Anyone trade in CoD3 recently? I wonder if it is still $32ish.....
Don't know the trade in value, but I know it's not going to be $32 as BB/GR recently lower the used price of CoD3 to $39.99.
'
I also forgot to mention that yes, BB's computers are now linked, and you might possibly be able to transfer your credit from store to store. Are you likely to find a store that will simply transfer the credit (especially a large amount like $66)? Maybe, maybe not. Still, I'd simply rather have the gift card than have to deal with two stores trying to transfer credits.
While the computers are linked now, they still don't work to transfer credit. The link is for finding deliquent blockbuster accounts at different stores basically and much to a CAGs shagrin, block flippers. And to finally be able to look up an existing account if someone doesn't have their card anymore.

However, you can always put store credit on a gift card unless you are an employee. In fact a little box pops up when you do a trade that says acct or gift card. A good employee should always ask you if you want it on the card or the acct. The only thing we aren't supposed to do anymore is let people just pay money and leave credit on their acct.

Oh and I am going to see if there is a way to print out a complete list of trade in prices. If so I will do one system a week and get the wiki in good shape.
MY store has a HALO 2 Green XBOX that someone traded in, been there for at least a few weeks.

I guess someone also traded in a Wii (gone instantly) and a 360 recently too. (They said they did that to get a PS3 with the price drop).
I picked up a green Halo 2 XBOX earlier today at gamerush for 59.99, needed something to burn some credit on

Is this something they plan on doing, or is it just something that is possible with the linkage? Can they see what you've bought/traded at other stores now? It just seems that they don't care so much about the game trading side any more, I find it odd they would care about flippers at this point. They could have used this system 2 years ago though ;).

I was just wondering, though, if there is someone in corporate checking these things or if it's just that a particular store manager thinks you are up to something they might check it out? I've found that, even during the time of great deals at GR, most didn't care one way or the other (too many other things to worry about) as long as you aren't blatant about it.

Hmm, I did trade in about 3-4 copies of PS3 Enchanted Arms (at three different stores). Wonder if they'll end up flagging me. First time I've done that level of flipping in a while.

It doesn't seem like the computers around here are linked. I've been to a few stores with EA and no one cares. There was one store where I opened a new trade account where the manager called to check another store about the "status" of my account.

The Blockbuster clerk said "this guy traded in a few movies," when he was referring to the games I traded-in. I think games are movies in the Blockbuster database. Although they might have titles and possibly flag you if you traded one too many of the same title.

I haven't flipped games since the Mark Echo game, which was about a year ago iirc...

When that happened, I was flagged and was told I already traded the game in at the same/different BB. They rejected me that day.

Today, I wanted to trade EA to them, one said, we no longer accept trade ins... we are "overstocked".

However, I flipped two EAs to the same GR today to two different CSRs, one in the morning, one in the evening.

yea, some titles have a set zero buy back.

What is really strange to me is I tried to trade in a ps2 copy of GTA SA and the GR pc gave me a trade in value of $.01 and a sale value of $.99. Is it really that cheap or have they been swamped with that title? I kept it on principal.

No wonder I haven't seen any old Xbox systems anymore at a Gamerush I would go to! I wish I could find one for that price so I won't have to pay the $79.99 at Gamestop! :(

A trade-in list would be amazing. AMAZING. I've got a lot of games sitting around that I would like to unload but the wiki is too unependable currently...

As for the blocking flippers, I had multiple copies of one game that I traded in at every BB/GR in my area two at a time, always at a different store. Overall I probably traded in around 30 of them, all within a week's time. I cringed towards the end (I did most of my trading one weekend, then cleaned up the rest the following weekend) thinking I might be flagged but nobody ever so much as raised an eyebrow...

I would also be in total awe of anyone who could get a complete trade list.

Just called and EA holds for ANOTHER week at $36. At first I thought he said 5.36, but to my delight it is $36. Another week of goodness.

Meh... guess I will give myself enough for a game by flipping another EA. I'd be happier if I could find used instead of new copies to more than double my money, but I guess any profit is good savings for the games that I have to get day 1.

It is tempting, but I must hold myself back ;). It was one thing to get a used copy with my GC credit for $13.49 and turn that into $36 in BB credit. But I can't justify spending $20 in cash to get $36 in BB credit. If I didn't have any I'd do it, but I don't really need much more than the $100 or so of useless credit I already have. I suppose I could use it for DVDs. That would mean getting their $22 new DVD releases for about $12. But, meh, that isn't worth running out to Best Buy or wherever to get an EA. (There's the slim chance I'll travel to a location with a GR but then I'd have to luck out with them having something game-related that I want in stock. If I get too much credit I'd be tempted to get stuff I wouldn't otherwise have spent $50 or $60 on).

That's the same thing that's held me back. I've passed up several copies of EA at the various stores I've been to (saw a bunch during my Lumines hunt). I just can't justify turning $20 cash into $36 credit at GR. Plus as lean as my GR hs become I'm wondering if they'll get new titles I want to buy in the future.

Yeah, there's really a whole different mindset with flipping when you're back to $0 credit... if I'm gonna spend $50 on a game, it might as well be $50 in GR credit which costs anything less than $50.

If you have the chance of actually buying new games there then I'd go for it no problem. If that was the case I'd be buying 3 or 4 $20 EA's and trading them in. So if you have a semi-reliable GR it is well worth it. I don't even have my unreliable one any more .

I figure if they get Transformers, Harry Potter, and The Darkness, they'll at least get Mario Galaxy.

I'm on vacation right now in Kansas City, and I happened to stumble upon (read: I got lost) a Blockbuster. Still had a copy of EA sitting in my car and decided to trade it in. I got $38.78, because for some reason, it gave me the $36 + $2.78 for tax. That's the first time I've ever had tax added onto the trade in value. That was pretty awesome. The only bad thing was they couldn't figure out how to put the credit onto my value card, so I had to get a gift card and put the credit on there.

Would I be able to transfer the credit from the gift card onto my value card? Or would I be able to use both cards in one transaction?

Sorry for this impossibly noobish question but i gotta know (and dont feel like flippin through 85 pages) can u trade games in to any blockbuster? If so im set theres a gamestop literally 2 stores down from a blockbuster near me :) (EA flippin hopefully)

I'm wonderin cuz of the whole hollywood video and gamecrazy situation (not all hws have gcs)

man I found I had 2 gamerush close to me, then I saw this thread.

thanx for the Enchanted Arm tip! I got Suikoden V for $21.64 plus $3.55 in credit to spare!
Just keep the gift card - you can use that in the same transaction as your value card. They will need to know exactly how much is on it though if what you are paying for is more than the amount on the card. They'll put in that you are paying $38.78 of it with that card, then you can use your value card afterwards to pay the rest.

So I've got a similar credit problem (the good credit problem, that is) to many others. I built up about 140 in credit and now I don't have something to spend it on. I had planned on buying a DS Lite with the credit, but the black and white ones have sold out and only the pink ones are left at some nearby stores. Pink is not an option. I've called most every GR on the east half of the Atlanta metro area and I'll try the west half when I go back to work in a few days and will be in that area to actually visit a GR if they have one. I say most because the website store locator leaves off at least four GRs that I know of. The question I have for some of you more experienced flippers follows this idea. I could buy a pink model at a GR, then buy an onyx at a walmart or target and then return the pink model with the onyx receipt at the walmart. Would this work or would the different models ring up differently or say the color on the receipt at wallyworld or target or EB or wherever? Sorry for the kinda off topic post.

To make up for it, here's a completely hearsay and possibly bogus piece of info. When trading in an EA (how'd you think I amassed 140 in credit?), I asked the clerk about the fact that there were very few new games in stock and we talked about the last clearance to which responded that there may be another clearance. He and a coworker (a manager) both seemed to think there would be another one. I pointed out that all of the last clearance games disappeared from one day to the next as I was eyeing an Xbox Black for cheaper than 10 and he seemed to think that those games were still around and would be cleared out at some point. Personally, I think he's a clueless pretentious prick.

OK, thanks for the info. I've built up over $230 in credit (goin' for a PS3, cause my local GR actually has at least one in stock). Still got one more EA to flip, and I may try for a few more.
