Deals usually end on close of business on Monday and begin on open Tuesday (some special ones do start on Thursday usually around labor day, memorial day, etc.)

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must be 18 and have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush. If you are not 18, you can trade under a parent or guardian's BB acount, but they must sign a trade agreement.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by "flipping" games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to. Remember, discussion of "loopholes" and "flipping" should be kept in the thread linked at the beginning of this post. We've all had a year's worth of discussion on the ethics of capitalizing on the loopholes, but the fact remains - you sign a Trading Agreement and are subject to the conditions you agreed upon. If you abuse the system, chances are it'll catch up to you one way or another.

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

I saw such an entertaining scene at the local gamerush today.

Basically a very portly black kid (probably about 15) with a semi-high pitch voice was in there. He wanted to buy a copy of advent rising for 5 dollars, but the only used copy they had was traded in earlier that day (as you all know gamerush cant sell a game until the next day). So anyway the kid had already traded in three games and insisted on getting the advent rising. He started an argument with the gamerush guy that lasted a good 15 minutes. He started saying things like "this is a major inconvenience" and "can't you just hit an override key" all in his high pitch voice it was very funny. He left in a fit of rage and after being promised he could get the game for 5 dollars if he came back tomorow. As soon as he left the gamerush guy said "theres no chance hes getting this for 5 dollars" and then threw the game into the trade in bucket on the floor. Then another employee came over and started mocking the kid.

Uhm, that's not true. I've bought games that were traded in on the same day. That's how I got Unreal Championship for $5 on the day it came out, no less.

I think it depends on state laws, but IIRC most states have at least some hold period. I think it's mentioned here that some people have to wait 15 days...

Thats where i bought mine. They were selling them for like $35 if i remember correctly. Im sure theres still some waiting to be bought.

So the Trade 3, Get 1 for $5 is on its way out...I read through the last 3 pages of postings and didn't find this question.

Nothing follows immediately after... There have been rumors that the good deals are gone for good, but we won't know for sure for a while. We'll see how good the next deal is, when it comes. Looks like there will be a break for a little bit anyway. Once the trade-ins come to a complete stop we'll see what they do to entice people back in. The extra $5 per game was nice, but I wouldn't expect that back for a while either, if at all. I'm hoping they at least bring back some sort of trade 2 for preorder/new deal, even if it is $35 instead of $30.

By the way, I went in to pick up my Kirby DS preorder and my GR now has copies of all the preorder lists available at the counter for people to take. I have them all here (except for Xbox360 games which they said they aren't taking preorders for yet - I know they are at most stores). If anyone has specific questions about preorders fire 'em off to me and I'll see if they are on these sheets. If I have time I'll post a few.

There are at least 3 xbox games that are available for preorder that I didn't see in the list, GR 2 expansion, Half-Life 2 and Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII (that last one threw the manager for a loop since he'd never heard of it and he's pretty knowledgeable, I guess I'm the only one with a preorder so far)

I went by a couple of Blockbusters (non-Gamerush) that told me that they stopped doing this deal already. I tried it at both places and was turned away. They said that they "got an email" from headquarters to stop doing it. I've got 1 or 2 more batches to run. I'm gonna just go back to my nearest Gamerush store and see if they are still doing it... this might've only applied to non-Gamerush stores. Anyone had similar results?

Got an odd phone call today...told me that the zelda I preordered had come in. Really odd, because it was twilight princess. Turns out they put my preorder on 4 swords. Retards. Now I've gotta go deal with the total bitch of a manager there.

I was at a Fresno GR last weekend (on First, North of Herndon). The guy there said that the deals were ending on the 20th. Which one did you go to? I'd love to get in on some more dealage when school starts up again.

I'm mostly looking for DS / PSP stuff, but anything decent is good.

I don't want to make the almost 30 minute drive (with no AC in the car to boot) just to find out they don't have anything decent.

Seriously, does everyone get it now? It seems this question comes up every 3 posts, and even though 50 people can confirm it, people still claim September because they have an uninformed GR. Like I said before, this del may last a few days after the 20th, due to late notice. But 80% of stores will end this on MONDAY THE 20TH

They have every game for preorder pretty much it's just that they don't get distribution from some publishers. My manager told me the same thing about Radiata, since in the past the Atlus RPGs I've preordered never came in, but since Square is publishing it I'm betting they will get it. Wild Arms Alter Code F, I think Agetec is publishing, was one he said probably wouldn't come in which I do believe because I don't think I've ever seen a new Armored Core or anything at GR. The only thing I'm really worried about is Shadow of the Colossus because I want it more than anything and I'm not sure if Sony is publishing it or not.

i hit up a GR today and found a grip of stuff. everything that i traded in has been noted here except:

defender (gba) - 9 (its 5.99 at ebgames)

i traded in 6 games and i got psychonauts (FINALLY!!!) and i was going to get shadow hearts: covenant but when i opened the case to see if the game had any scratches, there was no game in the case. so i just picked up sw:episode III for xbox. i was searching through the ps1 section and found some great games. i picked up:

bust a groove
alundra
legend of legaia
capcom vs. snk pro
final fantasy tactics

all for $15. i was about to pick up a zelda: the majora's mask and goldeneye complete but i just asked them to hold it until i can get some cash. you have to love GR for these kinds of deals.

D'oh! Well at least they called, and didn't wait until November when you went to pick up the new Zelda to tell you. And Four Swords is 50% off right now ($20) anyway, so it's pretty lame to have to pay $30 for it :D.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the GR release dates, especially when they are that far out. Just keep checking IGN/Gamespot/EB online and see when they say it comes out (not that any are accurate right now).
