GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.

Hey Prustaq,i went in today looking for the same Limited Edition. I now write my games down on a sheet so its easier for the clerks who dont know whatgames im talking about. The gave me the Doom 3 limited,but with Splinter Cell,they gave me the regular one. If they do get the limitied one later,i guess you can just switch it out for an extra 5 dollars.

haha. gamerush has saved me A LOT of money, and i am forever grateful, but as odd as this seems, it will feel wierd paying 40+ for a video game. hopefully they will have another "drake-like" incident.

Sounds like someone cleaned out his local TRU of all the cheap clearance games and is holding on to them waiting for the good trade deals to start at GR.

How the heck can you rack up that much credit?? Even $300 or $400 in credit? I did my share of buying cheap, trading in, getting the special deals, even a little flipping...but I never got more than $120 and I used that right up on RE4, Zelda Minnish, and a couple others. Just curious cause I'd like to get a PSP, but just can't afford it right now.

TRU had lots and lots of $1 - $3 games last week. Some ppl bought probably 200+ games at several of their local TRUs.

oh so you mean like employee discount w/buy 2 get one 1 free then trade them in? or them voiding it and then redoing the deal many times? or scanning the barcode to make it work more than once? or about the employee just scans one or two but not the rest on "accident"

I can't tell or I could mess the deal up. Let's just say that when the had the "Trade 3 get a pre-owned for $10" I would make $100+ credit in ONE trip. When this new deal hits, I will probably make more. There's no point in going into specifics since you need to be friends with an employee to do it. And they won't get in trouble, either.
 
Any time you need to be friends with an employee to get a deal, something's not on the up-and-up. Whatever it is, I'm sure the employee would get in trouble if someone that actually cared about Blockbuster making a profit walked up on this deal.
 
Could you tell me? I'm friends with many of the employees. They let me do the numerous flipping to build up credit, but you sound like you have a different way.

Sounds like buy with deal at one store and not flip but return it at another or the same works I guess if you have an insider. Everytime I've returned a game from their deals I've always got the sticker price not what I paid for with the deal. I guess they do it because you don't have those games left anymore. It would be an easy way to rack up money a lot faster.

Maximo: AoZ - $7
Gungrave - $5

However, the csr wouldn't take GT3 because it was incomplete. He said there was a memo sent saying the can no longer take games without the manual and case art. Has anybody else come across this?

i dont know if this is YMMV, but last month, i did the trade 3 get a preorder for 29.99, and paid off the game. today i decided i didnt want the game, and i asked them to put the credit back on my account. instead of giving me 30, they gave me 50 in credit. does this always happen, or did the person make an error.

if this always happens, it is a great way to build up some credit.

It always happens this way...the way their computer works they just have it in as paid in full so you get the full MSRP back...I have done in once or twice for games I actually wasn't able to get out to GR to pick up (it's kinda far) or changed my mind.

A word of caution though....if you do it on a regular basis, eventually someone is going to notice you cancelling every preorder and ban you from trading. Unless it's a very rare occurance I think you're better off waiting for trade-in deals and occasional flipping to build up credit.

I should get some info tomorrow (we get our Map/Planogram) which tells us the new promos and such coming up. (if someone doesn't beat me I'll post whats coming around 5:30pm cst or earlier if I get a break)
 
I hope I'm right in assuming that in addition to the trade 5 get 1 PO for $1, you also get the value of each game. At least that's how it's been so far. Looking forward to your next post CoryCubed!

It doesn't always happen. If you get an employee that doesn't know too much about the preorders and deals that Gamerush offers and they just hit cancel you will get the full $49.99+ credit. The GRs I go to almost all of the employees know about the deals, and if I wanted to cancel they can look at how I preordered that specific game and it will show up that either I paid 29.99 or the 34.99 for the game, and that is what they will refund me by manually doing it. In my experiences, I only know two employees that know how to do the above, so I avoid that type of transacation if they are there.

The trade 2 get preorder for $34.99 is till close of business March 14th.

Starting March 15th to replace there will be trade 3 get an extra $5.

Everything stays the same (at least till the next map which is 2 weeks away on March 3rd)

That would be trade 3 and get an extra $5 each right? But either way, what happened to trade 5 get preowned for $1?!?! :) thanks for the info....
 
update... Halo 2 tourney at Manhattan Beach #2 in CA. Prizes for winners. Employees are not allowed to win prizes, but they can still play. To be played Feb 26. Cant remember the time, but if you are interested show up. Dont think too many people know about it.
 
Is there a list in the thread of all the games that you can pre-order? Trying to decide if I should Pre-order from here or EB.
