If its a plain old Block Buster...no go.

I live in MI, and the 4 GR's ive gone to have had this sale going on with 2 other sales, Buy one, Get 1 %50 off and Trade in any game, get $10 off a 39.99 or more NEW game.

Not all GR's are in on this. Of those that do, the rules vary by compentence.

I got a really good deal at GameRush today. I picked up Wind Waker using the $9.99 deal and it was in perfect condition with a perfect manual. That's not the really good deal though.

I happened to glance in the hardware case and I saw an original GBA marked at $19.99! I told the clerk that I wanted it and he was suprised that it was priced so low. He scanned it and there was apparently something wrong with the SKU on the sticker. So he found the actual SKU and said that GBA's are supposed to sell for $59.99. Without me even saying anything he immediately adjusted the price down to the $19.99 price. The thing is, the last time I checked GameRush was giving $40 in credit for a GBA trade-in. :D

Oh, and also be on the lookout for Fable Limited Edition Bonus DVD's. My GameRush just got them in and I'm guessing that they are for people who pre-order. I asked the clerk about them and he said I could just have one. Maybe you'll get the same response.

Pretty major score last night visiting 2 GR's.....traded in 8 games and got 4 newish games.....traded 2 copies of SimCity 2000 ($12 or $13 each) 2 copies of Dino Crisis 3 XB ($12 each I think) 2 copies of Rogue Ops PS2 ($2 each) 1 copy of Haunted Mansion XB ($7) and 1 UFC Throwdown GC ($1). Was able to score Full Spectrum Warrior, Chronicles of Riddick, Hitman Contracts and Red Dead Revolver, all XB, plus about 22 in positive credit. The games I traded in cost me about $40 with tax (most were 5$ CC). So for about $20 I got 4 hot games....$5 each :)

Here's what I plan on doing in about 2 weeks to get ToS new, copy it if you want, but, hey, this could work out well. Note: this is for newbies of the Game Rush deal, and you don't even have to use that on ToS, but basically any game you want that's still new that's over 30 dollars.

1. Buy 4 games through Gamestop: probably THPS 3 and Metal Gear Solid 2 (both get you 7 dollars credit, and they cost 5 dollars at Gamestop), and two very cheap PSX games, 1.99-2.99ish.

2. Trade those 4 games in, get about 15-16 dollar credit, pick up two titles that sell for 25-35 each (I.E. Riddick, Transformers, Spider-Man 2, etc). One should be free, because you'd have around 15 dollars credit, and you'd just have to spent maybe 5-6 dollars for the other game, due to the credit.

3. Go to another Game Rush, trade in those titles, get around 50-70 dollars credit once it goes through, and pick up ToS (or any new game there), you should have enough credit to handle it, PLUS, when you trade-in a game, you get 10 dollars off any new game (29.99 or more), so you'll spend about 44 dollars out of your credit (which could have 70 dollars on it), to get the game, and, if you get any GCN game, be sure to use that coupon to get a Mario/Yoshi toy! I have like 3 of them, but, what's the hurt in getting another for free? If you plan to do this trick to GBA games, remember to use that 5 dollars off coupon in the store, and save your credit to another purchase.

4. Now, you should have a new game and a Mario/Yoshi toy in possession (if they had them in stock). Estimated spending total (not including tax): 22.00. Not bad, huh? With tax, just add-on about 4-5 dollars, and you got your 50 dollar game, toy, and 20 dollars extra credit left!

Beats out buying a game for 50 and having nothing else to show for it, huh? With this you can get a new game, a figure worth 10 dollars, AND 20+ extra credit left on your account for another purchase, that's a PH, GH, or PC title right there! I'd reccomend saving the 20 for another new game coming out you want... I'll probably save my credit for Paper Mario 2, or Metroid Prime 2, but, hey, only time will tell what I'll do...

I hope that helps people on how to work this Game Rush system, just don't overdo it! :p

Actually I have never even heard of a GameRush but all 3 of our local plain-old Blockbuster stores are doing the same deal. - near Cincinnati, Ohio

If you do decided to do something like this with any kind of frequency, don't be shocked if after a couple of times they decide to tell you that they won't be accepting trades from you anymore.

It all comes down to being reasonable. Don't get greedy and you won't get cut off.

I know what you mean, but hey, I work with what I can, not like they need my extra 50 dollars to achieve a great business platform, as they're already one of the most established businesses in the U.S. today, Blockbuster, I mean. The stores are EVERYWHERE, and I've already done that a few times around other stores, it's not very honest, but it gets the job done and saves me a good 30 dollars, and I posted it because I want people to save their money, and when I mean save money, I don't mean get a game for 5 dollars less than the SRP is.

But, don't take this the wrong way, I understand what you're saying, but I'm just stating a plan that so far, has worked for me, and a friend of mine scored big using similiar tactics, and got a used GCN and two games for about a total spent of maybe 50-60 dollars, so, hey, whatever works, works.

He's right though, don't overdo it, if you plan on doing that, wait a few weeks inbetween. Take advantage of these deals, don't slam them hard with it all at once, or I can see something being said to you about it. Be smart.

How or why do you think you're "banned" from trading? I thought that would be one of those things you know an exact answer to...

I think I have a coupon...trade in 3 get 1 for $5. I have 3 games I want to trade, but not sure what I want to pick up....any XBOX suggestions??? Doesn't seem like there are TOO many good games lately.

I was wondering the same thing, i want to know if there is one in Norfolk, VA but gamerush.com dosent say there is one in VA but the first post does. Typo?

Without knowing what you have, I would recommend Riddick, SC: PT, and Full Spectrum Warrior.

Thanks...did NOT like SC:pT. Riddick, i played the demo, it was fair....have not played FSW, although it looks good, not too sure how keen I am on the point-click sim like war game.

I may wait a while, but not sure when the next GOOD promotion will be....I know Black Arrow comes out in August...possibly then

Thanks for the heads up... Finally a GameRush in Florida.
Now if they would only come to Jacksonville
Damn HerrmDogg. I can't believe they let you trade that many games. The most $9.99 games they ever let me get was 4.
Yeah man those guys at Blockbuster didn't care at all. When I tossed up that bag of ancient PSOne football games that I had just bought 1/2 hour earlier from GameStop they laughed their ASS OFF. What's even better is, the manager of the store rung me up.

I'd be careful with that reciept, depending on how you did the blocking out of your card number... with the proper tools, one could remove the layers of the jpg that mask your card number.
ia friend i did my runs with was found out to be banned yesterday evening, i havent traded since, but i would presume that i to am banned. another friend was banned for abusing the system, though he was quickly unbanned after complaing to the corporate office. i hope that answer is exact enough for you...

what's the coupon listed on the reciept? and why does it vary from different titles? I have still yet to goto gamerush, so I'm still a little curious about this...thanks.

Thanks for looking out JSweeny. I know there are ways to strip stuff like that but honestly there isn't anything under there that would be useful anyway, unless you're good at guessing 12 numbers in succession.

The coupon is the 2 games I traded in to take the price from $XX.XX to $9.99. Since games are priced differently, the "coupon" applies differently but the outcome is the same, $9.99.

sow here is this coupon found at? Sorry to seem so stupid, but of all the deals on cheapassgamer, this has to be the most unbelievable!(Not that in a "I don't believe" way, but a holy cow! way)

This "coupon" you speak of is kinda sorta an invisible one. You don't really need one for the discount, they have lil boards written around the used games section talking about it. So you just trade in 2 platform eligible games and presto, you'll get any used game you want for $9.99...

i went to my local Gamerush with 2 playstation one dual analong controllers. i read they give 10 bucks for ps1 and 15 for ps2. i get there and they only take sony controllers.
i was hoping to actually get some money off of these since gamestop and eb sell them for 7 to 4 bucks.

only problem with them so far. if this is wrong and they should take them, even if they pay less than if a sony controller post it. thanks

I've got a quick question (I apologize if this is answered in one of the many other pages):

Do games have to have the manual when you trade them in for the trade 2 get one for $9.99 deal? I have Legends of Wrestling for the 'cube with the original case and everything but not the manual. Will they take this as part of the deal? Any help would be appreciated.

Will MOST Gamerush allow you to do what MerrmDogg did? I wouldn't mind picking up a few good games for $12

(That is using those old ass sports games to trade)
I'd be careful with that reciept, depending on how you did the blocking out of your card number... with the proper tools, one could remove the layers of the jpg that mask your card number.
But that's only if he didn't flatten the layers, right?

Depends, a friend traded in 6 games in one day at the Gamerush here in Town East, but, it just depends on where you go. Go ahead and try it, it wouldn't hurt, they'd just tell you that there's a limit, but, if you go to Gamerushes around 8-9pm, you'll have to get a Blockbuster cashier to do the transactions, as around then I have yet to see any "Gamerush" employees, and most BB cashiers have no idea of the rules and limits to trade-ins, so if you want a big haul to trade in, chances are you can get away with it if you go at night.

My brother and I traded in Roadkill (Xbox), Legends of Wrestling (GCN), LotR: Fellowship (Xbox), and NFL Fever 2003 for $20 store credit (sorry, I don't know individual trade in values, but it appears that Roadkill still gets $8 dollars).

We picked up Chronicles of Riddick and Manhunt for the Xbox for $1.18 total. Both games were new (no scratches and mint instructions).

I might go back up there in a week or so hoping they have some used Spider-Man 2 games in.

It seems like the Blockbusters around here always schedule their Gamerush employees to work afternoons and nights. If I go to one of my Gamerushes before 2pm I usually deal with a regular Blockbuster employee.

I stopped by a GameRush around 11'ish this morning and there was the manage with like 5 GameRush employees all behind the counter of the gaming section. Pretty freaky sight. Haha.

Anybody from the Dallas area seen a used Metal Slug 3 around? I want that game BAD!
I'm hoping to pick up a Spider-Man 2 also. I wanna go back to GameRush!!!!!! TAKE ME PA!!!
As of about 3:00 PM on Friday. The Sharonville Blockbuster had a used Spider-Man 2 for Xbox in stock. I'm not sure if your dad is willing to drive over there, but it really isn't too terribly far from the Montgomery store you usually go to.

Thanx a bunch Santurio! If there are any preowned games you're lookin' for just list them and I'll let ya know if I see any of them at the GameRushes around here...

dallas area never carries new games preowned

every time a new game or game that they don't have on the shelf comes in, the employees buy them that same day..so we never get an opportunity to buy them..

now, some people were reporting that they were getting decent games in town east..but i ain't driving that far

I'm probably too late by now. I just found another GameRush off of Montgomery also. I might go to one of them later next week. My parents always say that they're too tired to take me. arrrgh.

No. Sorry. :(

I will tell you if I spot it, and if I do, it'll probably at the Town East Gamerush, the best place by far for finding games, IMO.

I'm going to GR on Tuesday to buy ESPN football 2K5. Hopefully they will have some good games on Lavon Dr.
