Not all GR's are in on this. Of those that do, the rules vary by compentence.

which issue of EGM did the trade 2, get 1 used for 4.99 in? I subscribed to EGM, but I don't seem to be able to find it, except for the trade 2, -20 PO offer only...

does anyone know which magazine had the trade in one game and get a new one for 39.99?
 
What's the latest Gamerush deal?--I saw a sweet preowned copy of burnout 3 today and am looking for a way to pick it up for cheap. I'm guessing the trade in 2, get one for 9.99 is over?..what did they replace it with?

Hmmm I am a Blockbuster member, but I don't think I got one. I'm in So Cal too, have to check the mail more closely.

You don't need a magazine, at least here in So. Cal. All the Gamerushes by me have a stack of those "trade a game and get a NEW game for $39.99 or less" (depending on what you trade in, it can be less) next to the register. I have about 5 in my Glove compartment. They expire 10/11, though. I will probably pick up Shadow Hearts: Covenant or something else.

Wow, I hope they make this into a standard special. The trade 2 and pre-order a game for $29.99 used to be a "coupon" but then they made it standard. They told me that the trade 3 or more and get an extra 5 bucks was ending soon, but they did not know what special would take it's place. Maybe this one will...
 
Per the manager at my local store the two current deals (trade in 2 get preorder for 29.99 and trade in 3 or more get $5 extra per trade) run through October 11.
 
I talked to the manager of the GR I go to and he said their new promo materials say they are just extending the current trade 2, Preorder for $20 off until November 8th.
 
Thanks for looking out....hopefully MY GameRush will add some more games to Pre-Order. They were adament that I could only PreO the only ones on "The List"....I said ok, since I wanted games on "The List"....but I've got almosy all I want now, and more to trade too :)
 
Here's a tip I was told by a GR manager

If you're bringing in wrapped games, like I was, it's better to open them up first according to the manager I spoke with. She said it looks less suspicious to them if they're opened. I brought in 6 games to trade straight from CC and she stopped the whole trade process to call some other higher up manager to see if it was ok to take these wrapped games. He told her ok because I wasn't on some kind of "hold" list. Then she told me that wrapped games are a problem because they don't know if it's an empty box or if the games were stolen or blah,blah,blah... anyway, she said her advice was to just open them before you bring them in. This was in the San Bernardino/Redlands area. Btw, she opened them up during the whole transaction.

I've bought several different new titles for the purpose of trading them to Game Rush. I wouldn't mind Blockbuster selling them as new but I've always unwrapped mine to avoid any kind of suspicions from the employees.

As it is, the crotchety manager of the Blockbuster I go to doesn't like to see me come in even though I've never traded more than 2 of any title since I started doing this. Not to mention I've been a good Blockbuster customer for years, just not at the store I do the trading at. I figured I wouldn't add fuel to the manager's anger by bringing in unopened games to trade.
 
yeah I have two unreal 2's i'm holding onto rapped just in case when i trade them in the trade in goes down.....

i will open them before trade...good advice for less hassel
 
You should also check to see if they need any copies of the game/s you're wanting to trade in before opening them. That way, if they refuse to take them, you can always take them back to CC or wherever you got 'em.
 
yep..i was just toing to walk in with no games in hand and find out what the trade in value of them are and if they will accept them...then go back to my car and do the trades!

I consider myself enlightened now in the ways of trade at BBV/GR! See if it's worth it first by asking, then go to the car and open them if it is. If not, back to CC they go.
 
I got about $99 out of my six games (I decided to keep Metroid Prime). I used that money to purchase Pikmin 2 and Donkey Konga. Good stuff.
 
Watch out when you pick up your preorder. I just picked up Donkey Konga today, got Def Jam last week. Both times I checked the receipt afterward and they charged me full price, $49.99 for the game (I have enough credit in my account) when I went to check out even though I had already payed in full before hand. Luckily I checked the reciept. On Def Jam there was even a note on the account that I should only have to pay a dollar when I picked it up. I brought my reciept in and showed them that I had already payed and after much discussion they credited back my account.

Probably a good idea for that reason not to leave credit on your account. It seems to confuse the employees and an employee not paying attention will just swipe the game, it will automatically debit your account, and you will never know if you don't check the reciept.

Can you remember offhand how much Metroid Prime would have gotten you? I was thinking about trading our copy in, since we never play it. Thanks.
 
Does anyone know if any BlockBusters or Gamerushes are getting Katarami Damacy or whatever it's called? Since I have boatloads of credit there, I want it. I called 3 stores and 2 of them don't have it in their system, and 1 DOES have it in there system, but the computer says it hasn't been released.

Last Call isn't that bad of a show, I watch it every night after Leno and Conan, though, really only because reruns of Leno and Conan come on after it.
 
Work friday night? Ugh I had a job that made me work nites and weekends I chose unemployment LOL. It was mostly surf the web and watch tv and wait if anything went wrong but bleh the people I had to work with at nite were really not my type of people made those long nites even longer.

The good thing is that I don't have any annoying co-workers. I am alone. I want to quit but they are paying me to sit on my ass and play my Xbox, so I can endure it. College is expensive, you know?

I pre-ordered for XBOX....the buzz seems good around it. I enjoyed the first one, espeically on LIVE....although Halo 2 comes out the week before :)

with the tax credit they gave, totaled $60.42

Used the coupon from the recent gaming mags to get any pre-owned game for $1 after trading in 5 games and got Star Wars Battle front for $1

Picked up XMen Legends with my credit and a cheap Xbox controller for my 6 year old son to play battlefront with me

total out of pocket was $4 and change...

Best part was that all except Brute Force were games I picked up a while back for $4.99 at the CC sale...

All of the GR's by me are selling it used for $15, so expect to get about $7.
