Not all GR's are in on this. Of those that do, the rules vary by compentence.

Definitely was in this past month's GamePro and I'm thinking I also got them out of this past month's EGM (but not sure on that one)

I just went back and traded 4 more games, and remembered the pre-order deal everyone is doing here, so I traded the following:

Metroid Prime $13
Eternal Darkness $10
Xbox Lord of the Rings Two Towers $7
Xbox Counter Strike $13
+tax = $45.58

Used the Coupon for trade 4 games, get any pre-owned for $5 so I picked up Mario Kart Double Dash for my son (which was labeled $39.99) for the $5 and preordered Halo 2 and KOTOR 2 for $29.99 each, for a grand total of $23.30 out the door after applying my credit for complete paid pre-order for Halo 2 and KOTOR2 and a preowned copy of Mario Kart Double Dash

Not too bad.

If I would have been reading this closely about 2 weeks ago, I could have saved $20 on Xmen Legends too...

GameRush rocks.

Have to hit the game sales now just to get some stuff to trade in...

Hey Sniper, are you saying that as well as getting $60 for those games, you were allowed to buy Battlefront for a buck? (And did they still add the $5 extra per title because you traded in more than 3 games?) If so, aaargh I was in there yesterday and traded in six games, I coulda done that too...oh well I did get $123 for games that cost me $35 in total, so I shouldn't really complain.
BTW if anyone is looking, these coupons are in this months Official Xbox Magazine (Splinter Cell 3 on the cover).

Yep, got all the trade in credit + the extra $5 per game and used the coupon to get BattleFront for $1. Sometimes a deal just comes together. The guy behind the counter was flipping out on the coupon, but did not give me any trouble.


Did all that the second time and was able to do the pre-order deal too (didn't try to do the pre-order the first time).

Could have picked up Fable the second time as they already had those pre-owned, but I have a copy of Fable coming from the Microsoft Retail site and my son really wanted Mario Kart.

And yep you are correct on the magazine too, I get a ton of gaming mags free from deals found here and other sites, and then I give them to my friends after I've read them and stripped out all the coupons, so I have trouble keeping track of which coupon from which mag. Gamepro definitely had them as well.
 
Just another warning to you all:

The preowned price for Unreal II dropped from $39.99 to $26.99 today. This means the trade-in value will drop from $25 to around $13 on Tuesday.

Also, the preowned price for The Hobbit has dropped from $39.99 to $32.99. So the trade-in value will go from $25 to $22. Still not bad at all.
 
Yeah, tomorrow should be the last day you get full credit. Unfortunately, you probably won't get the extra $5 for Unreal II since the trade-in value is now just $1.99 less than their preplayed price.
 
Just an FYI to the users of the gaming mag coupons (trade 3 get PO for 10 bucks, trade 4 get PO for 5 bucks, trade 5 get PO for 1 dollar), you are not supposed to also get the additional $5 per game traded in when using the coupons. The guy above got lucky. It's and either/or sort of thing. The coupons can't be combined with any other offer. Apparently the employee made a mistake and the guy lucked out.

Trade any 2 games, get your trade-in credit and get 50% off any "Hot Games of 2004" game. I'm assuming this is for new copies of these games. Some of the games on the list of included titles are: Chronicles of Riddick, Custom Robo, Onimusha 3, ESPN Baseball, and I really can't remember any of the others.

It makes me not want to preorder for $30 if I can just get a $50 game for $25. Sounds good since I missed on preordering Star /Wars Battlefront, Donkey konga, and a few others. If this deal starts on the 11th, then it's just in time for me to get Donkey Konga before her B-day. :D

Well, I'm not complaining. Got the deal from 2 different employees who both asked the manager who was there at the time if I could combine all the deals.
 
yea, gamerush rules. I finally found my coupon in a past game pro mag--hopefully the copy of burnout 3 is still where I hid it on friday. Be careful w/ the gaming deals there, two of my friends are banned from trading at gamerush for "taking advantage of the system".

Thanks for the heads up! My CC has a few Hobbits left, but I can't get over there untill Tuesday. $22 is still a good deal! By any chance do you know if Batman: RoTS is still fetching $22 or did they drop the price on that too?
 
I traded in a couple of Batmans today and they are definately still $22. Forgot to check if the price is dropping on Tuesday though...

Also, for this new trade 2 get 50% off deal, any newer releases are not on the list of games that will be 50% off. I can't remember many games from the list, but Chronicles of Riddick was definately among the newest.
 
I Preordered NFS:U2 for $6 bucks out of pocket.

FYI...MVP Baseball 2004(ps2) got me $25 bucks today.

Our area is wiped out of Unreal II's, hobbits, Batman: ROTST. Thanks to me and a friend of mine. :p

With price dropping down this week, it will not be worth picking it up for $15(Cheapest we can find) anymore.

Aw, that's too bad. Hopefully they will bring it back. One thing I noticed about GR is that they always have some sort of sweet promotion. I guess the figured out that people would not buy their games at Blockbuster otherwise. Hopefully this will cause those EB and Gamestop bastards at corporate to do something to try to win us back.

It's probably unlikely, though.

Last time I talked with the manager they believed both deals would be ending almost for certain on October 11th. However, he did say another deal would start after the others ended that would allow you to get $20 off a new game with the trade in of 1 game. He was forcasting that there would be restrictions on the trade-in titles for the next deal though due to the amount of abuse that went on previously.
 
i want to do the deal where you trade in 2 games, and get and get 20 towards a preorder, but i cant find a coupon and my gamerush says they dont have one in store, and that i must bring one in to do the deal. can anyone tell me where i can find the coupon.

I got a flyer in the mail from gamerush with a coupon for the $20 off a new game with the trade in of 1 game. Coupon expires 10/31/04
 
Spin, I posted this on the other thread but I will put it here too:

The GR's I went to have signs posted about trading in any two select game formats, GBA, GC, XB, PS2 and a pre-order drops to $29.95. You also get the trade value of the games that you can use. You do have to pay the full price(or remaining price) of the pre-order right then.

Some have been lucky to have multiple offers combined and truly maxing out the deals.

YMMV but if it is close by, I would just stop in and see what happens. You always have the right to refuse the deal if you don't like it.

One Gr I was in had date of 10/11/04 marked on sign with the Trade 3 games get $5 more/game deal. I am assuming that may be an end date. The flyer I have is dated sept 21, 2004, so I would think they will be doing something new very soon

I also picked up a coupon from one of the GR's I went to.

Says pick up any HOT NEW RELEASE GAME for $39.99 or less with trade. Formats include for trade, PS2, XB, GC, GBA and not including mini games(I assume demo's). It expires 10/10/04
 
The preorder ends October 11 according to the store. It might be extended but I would get all your preorders done before hand just in case.
 
Of the three GR's I went to, only one actually had them. They were on the counter near the exit. I would look around though. If your store is this new, they may not have them.

I took advantage of the two games trade for $29.99 pre-order deal, I have a week to decide if I want to use this coupon.
 
My 2 local GR's only accept 1 copy of a game per day. Guess they've caught on.

I checked the 2nd GR today and asked to see their list. It had Resident Evil 4 on it. The other GR doesn't have it on theirs, though I PO'd it there before they had an official list.

What's weird is that on the list, RE 4 has a release date of 11-19, Prince of Persia:WW had the same date, as did Metroid.
 
Anyone ever change the game they pre-ordered using the $29.99 with 2 trade ins deal? I wanted to preorder Conker and it wasn't in their list so ordered another game.

I did it a couple of weekes back! When it was announced that SC:CT got delayed until March, I transfered the PO to NFSUII!

Everyone around here says the price changes usaually occur on Tuesdays!! This sucks for me 'cuz my CC has quite a few URIIs but I don't have any time to trade until tomorrow!
 
I traded in splinter cell PT for ps2 and got 23 I think and gta 3 and got 8 and preordered halo 2 limited edition :)

also traded in 3 crappy ps1 games and got splinter cell pt for xbox for 1 buck :)
 
Anybody know when Gamerush will be getting THUG 2? EB/Gamestop says it's out today, and I preordered my copy like 2 weeks ago.

GR usually gets their games the day after the ship date. A couple of times I've gotten a game in the evening of the shipping date. THUG2 shipped today so try calling tonight if not definatley tomorrow!
 
Is there any preowned games deals going on? Cause I'd like to trade my Rallisport Challenge 2 and Amped for a preowned Burnout 3 but I don't have alot of xtra money to make up the price gap.
 
Unreal 2

Traded my last 2 in today. Got 25$ each still. Maybe tomorrow the price will drop. Anyone know of a cheap Harry Potter/Sorcerers Stone for GC?
