Not all GR's are in on this. Of those that do, the rules vary by compentence.

ya, it's 20 off a pre-order. I preordered terminator 3 the redemption and it was MSRP 39.99, so I'll get it for 19.99. If you do a special edition pred-order it'll be 34.99. It's basically 20 bucks off, according to the coupon.

If you can't preorder special edition games, then they will end up the same since you will get a $50 preorder for $30 like the coupon says.

I think the reason they would cancel the deal is that too many people are abusing it. They never installed new rules to this deal, so they might want to cancel it now.

And I don't see why it matters if he has posted very much in this thread. He found out some information and was sharing it with us. Seems like he was just helping us.

All right, sorry man, but, I'm not sure about the gone-ness of this deal as I was just doing it before and you'd think one of the employees there I know well would let me know (as he's been there a lot when I traded in stuff), and it'll be a shame it's gone, but as long as the 30 dollar preorder thing sticks around I can just preorder every game I want, though I really want a PO copy of TOS for 9.99.

Nice, I don't have anymore coupons for the preorder any game for $29 with two trade-ins, but I'll go on Monday since it will be the standard deal.

I'll check it out tomorrow, if it is the last day I'll pick up one last game for 9.99. I'll try to trade in Everquest: OA, too.
 
I got a nice haul tonight. Not too much good from the trade 2, get 1 for $9.99 deal, but a few cool finds. Among them:
Super Nintendo $24.99
Dreamcast Black Sports Edition $19.99
Xenogears (non-GH, no manual) $6.99
Some old NES games (Tetris 2, Dr. Mario, Rygar...) $2.99

All the paperwork I've seen states that the trade 2, get 1 for $9.99 deal ends on Monday, September 6th. I take this to mean that the deal will be good through Sunday, though some stores MAY continue it through Monday. I'll be doing my trades tomorrow, just to be safe.

But, does anyone know if Gamerush is going to take Everquest OA with ease? Because I'm not sure if you're supposed to be legally able to trade that in...

I asked about the trade-in value of the game a few months back and the dude said it wasn't in the system at all so there would be no way for them to buy it back. Lemme know if it works for you tho! :D
 
I also went ahead and pre-ordered Fable and the new GTA game, both are totally paid in full, at the Blockbuster in Anderson. All I did was trade in a few of my games, and they gave me about $10 each. The shocking thing though was that they gave me $25, yes TWENTY-FIVE bucks trade in for that Space Channel 5 game I had. You can go buy it brand new for $15, I couldn't believe it.
 
I picked up Riddick last night with trade 2/$9.99 deal and the manager confirmed the new "pre-order promotion". But the weird thing was, he said that the $9.99 special is there to stay, at least at that particular store. So, looks like I'll be getting Fable for $9.99 when everyone beats it in a week (it's suposedly pretty short if you don't do any side quests) and "rushes" to trade em in.

I don't think so. I tried trading in this game a couple months ago at Gamerush and they wouldn't take it. Never seen a used copy for sale at a GR either.
 
Well, I just did my final haul... and yes, it's official, the deal is over after tomorrow. I also found out from an employee that I know pretty well that if you preorder a game that comes out after the coupon ends, you have to pay in full, so I ended up having to pay 20 dollars for Metroid Prime 2. Not bad at all I say. Now, I plan to do this once more for Paper Mario 2, and I found out that it also comes out after the coupon is expired, so, I have to pay in full as well. Oh well, I still love the deal.

I didn't try to trade in Everquest: OA because of what people have been saying, and that's okay, I don't mind keeping it for my collection.

Yes, Drake still gives you 21 dollars, I got a copy along with Madden 2002, they give you 2 dollars for Madden, and I paid 2 dollars for Madden, good deal there... too bad the worker at Gamestop was really laughing at me for buying Drake, but I told him I only have it as trade-bait, and he didn't care at all. Here's the receipt for my recent transaction and what I ended up getting.

I ended up getting DDR Max for 9.99 (it was marked as 20 something here), and decided to go ahead and use the excess credit I got towards Mortal Kombat: DA, and I only had to pay 4 dollars difference for it. Not bad, both have original cases, but Mortal Kombat: DA has no booklet, I asked, but he couldn't find the manual for it, it's okay though. I'll get one eventually somehow.

I did learn of a new promotion starting Tuesday, I have no idea if it has already been posted, and sorry if it has, but, apparently, if you trade in 3 games you get 5 dollars added onto each game. So, keep those old sports games ready to trade, as you'll get a guaranteed 15 extra dollars for them. Pretty good deal, not as good as the famous trade-in 2 get one PO for 9.99... Ahhh, I'll miss that deal, but I know better deals will come along.

Note, this is kind of off-topic, but at the Town East Gamerush... it was FREE COMIC DAY! They gave out free comics today, well, sort of, they just kind of were there for you to pick up, not bad, I would have taken like 40, but I only took one, since I know some other people will actually want some, here's the comic, by the way: I didn't read it yet, but oh well, I will look over it tonight.

Now, for my final haul. Very interesting story actually.

I was going to the movies with a friend which started at 7. The first thing I did was ask about my NBA Ballers. He talked to the manager and some other guy. It looked like they were in a huddle and talked for a minute to figure out what they are supposed to do. The manager told the guy to get a rental copy and the worker said "are you sure?" and then the manager repeated himself. I got a like new copy of the game, so I was happy. :D

I didn't have much time to get things so I was hurrying myself through the games. I almost forgot about another shelf that has some more good games. Once I check that shelf, I notice Riddick (they had like 8 copies since it was on another shelf as well) and pick that up.

Then, once I'm about to go to the counter, I notice Ninja Gaiden in two different spots on the shelf. :shock: First time my store had one. I took the one that had the manual and took the games to the counter when I notice that the "Live" bar across the top was in SPANISH. I was suprised to see a spanish copy of Ninja Gaiden. I never knew they made them in different languages inside the U.S. When I told the cashier, he laughed and said "it is spanish" when he checked the manual.

I grabbed the other one and asked if he had an english manual that I could have. He said he would check in the back but he had to get the key from the manager. Well, the manager was on the phone and I was in a hurry to get to the movie. I waited for a few minutes and he finally got the manual.

I got to the movies at 7:04 and only missed a couple of previews. My friend and I hads fun making fun of the movie Hero. :wink: Good times, good times.

I asked about the new promo and the guy wasn't sure about anything.

That, was one of my longest posts ever on the CAG boards. :)

I gotta question. Does anyone know if its possible to swap out the preorders you get from Gamerush? I have Halo 2 preordered. But i wanna swap that with the collectors edition. Any help will be appreciated.
 
Yeah, I'd like to know that too. The clerk I dealt with yesterday didn't know when I asked, and nobody else in the store could tell me either.

I'd like to know so If I pre order SW:Battlefront and it sucks, then I can move my pre-order deal to another game like X-Men before I pick up the original.

Any people who reserved Halo 2 before the CE was announced have automatically been bumped up to the CE. If you decide you don't want the CE, simply tell them when you go to pick it up.
 
i was told you pretty much have to live with what you pre-order (although once you get the game you probably can return it for another game)

another bad thing - you can't switch even if there is a delay, i was thinking doom 3 but it seems too risky (last thing i want to do is pre-order something and find out it has been moved to 2005)
 
i don't know about gamerush, but at Gamestop we can switch it. so if they are anything like GS with pre-orders, they can do it. all you have to do is find a nice employee probably,because some are too lazy to do the work.

So, today is the last day of trade 2 get one for $9.99 and tomorrow is when the preorder deal starts? I might end up taking a trip to another GameRush today to get the last of the used games.

traded in 2 ps1 games (1.50 a piece in trade) and 2 PS2 games ($7 each in trade) and got Pokemon collesseum and Sitting Ducks Ps2 for a total of $4.18.

i will miss the trade 2 deal...now for the trade 3 get $5 extra :)

Haha. In theory, no. But then again, ya never know. I've had 2 friends tell me that they took the "$10 extra on a trade in" coupon in, and they also gave them the "trade 2 for $9.99." Anything is possible, just depends how cool/naive the cashier is.
 
WTH is up with the spanish Ninja Gaidens. I've been to 3 different GRs and each one had at least 1 spansih NG. Some GRs had multiple spanish ones, but not a single english one. I looked at the disc and it looked normal though.

My last run-in was pretty lame. I traded in 4 games and got 2 games (Driv3r and Thief 3) both for 4.99, so I think the guy messed up since I think the total should've been 20+ instead of 10+.
 
The guys over at my gamerush said theyre doing the $9.99 deal till at least October. Just in case theyre wrong I picked up a Driv3r and NCAA 2005 for trade in fodder, and racked up my credit to about $86. My friend may have a new trade-in credit record...he's up to about $320.

Just in time for a busy month of games too.

The guy at my store told me, "The deal won't go away anytime soon, but it will probably go up in price. Something like trade 2 get a used for $19.99."

This was the Assistant Manager. So, who knows...

That's why you go to DIFFERENT stores if you are going to do that. Their systems are not set up to see what you've rented/traded at another store (I used to work at Blockbuster). I just ordered 6 Drakes for Xbox and will trade them in (I have about 5 Gamerushes in my general area) and get the value put on a gift card. I plan to get the Nintendo DS this way for cheap.
 
The manager at my local store (Landen, suburb of Cincinnati) indicated that the two new deals; trade in three get $5 extra in credit and the pre-order deal would run from 9/7/04 until 10/11/04.

Ya, I know someone that abused the crap out of the $9.99 deal. I was PO'ed with him because it took good games that others may have wanted, and used them as trade-bait. Long story short, one of the four stores he was trading to sent him a $200 bill for difference on the games he'd been "price manipulating." He called them, and talked with the manager. He told the manager he wasn't going to pay the bill. The manager said, "Ya, we just sent that to get your attention. Please stop abusing our trades, or I will ban your account in my store." Then my friend said, "That's fine, I was done anyway. And thanks to you all, I got my Xbox for $7." :roll:

Anyways, I think he got his account banned there and he didn't have to pay the bill. I dunno, it just made me mad with him for some reason. [/rant]

Well, that's not the same thing that I'm doing because I'm just trading in games. I'm not using them to get $9.99 games or pre-orders, I'm just trading them in. That's not "price-manipulating". Now what your friend did, that's "price-manipulating". I don't think I'll get caught because I can get some of my friends to trade in some Drakes on their accounts and get the credit on a gift card.

That's cool. If you can get them to take those Drakes, go for it. I know I would if I could. It's just when people trade in like 6 Ninja Gaidens (or any high profile game at the time) that they got for $9.99 each, that kind'a irks me.
 
I just went to my local gamerush and they seemed to think you need a coupon still for the trade in 2 get $20 off any preorder deal. Should this go through automatically now if I trade in two games or would they have to enter it in. I am sure they just haven't gotten the info that the deal is standard now, but I just didn't want to trade my games in without getting the $20 off if they have to do it manually.
