Not all GR's are in on this. Of those that do, the rules vary by compentence.

Well, I just went to GameRush.

Traded in 7 games. ALL XBOX
SWAT $13
XIII $12
Beyond Good Evil $13
Splashdown $10
Star Wars:Clone Wars $10
DRAKE $22 x 2 = $44

I believe these prices all had an extra $5 added on it....I think....maybe not.
I also had a $10 additional coupon.

So, my total was $112.60 back I got.

Then, I preordered MK:Deception (XBOX)
ESPN NBA 2K5

I wanted Battelfront, but it stopped on Thursday, so he rang me up for KOTOR2 by accident, and I had him take it off....he gave me $50 back instead of the $30 pre-order.

He screwed a few things up....so, after all is said and done, I still have $102 left on my Gift Card!!!! That is after paying for the MK:Deception and ESPN NBA2K5

Somehow I got $50 extra from them. I love employees who get confused.

So, with my $102 I think I may pick up Battlefront tomorrow then save the other $50 for something else!!!!!
 
Has anyone been able to switch a title you have on pre order for another one? I have Chaos Theory on PO but I've just read that it got delayed 'til March. Figure I'll get GTA:SA in it's place! Thanks in advance!!
 
Does this deal still work?

For instance, I have Dead to Rights, Blinx, and Hitman 2. So all I do is trade in 2 of those games, and I can get a used Madden 2005 for xbox for $9.99?

If I am incorrect please let me know what I do need to do. And does anyone have any idea when this deal will end.

Yeah if you want to do the 2 for 9.99, you will need a coupon from a magazine. Unfortunately, most of those coupons are expired or about to expire real soon.

2 of my stores are still doing the 3 for 4.99 though. Also IDK if anyone knows, but God of War is only 39.99. I thought it would be 49.99, but hey I won't complain. One last note, I preordered Silent Hill 4 a while ago for 39.99 (got it for 19.99 after the preorder deal), and today I saw GR selling them in the store for 49.99 new. Just thought that was kind of weird that it jumped up $10.
 
They also have PS2 copies of Madden 2001, 2002, 2003 for $1.99 each, but 2003 is on backorder. Hope you guys can get some nice deals through ebgames.
 
u can still trade in the drake for 22 store credit i just went. even though they are sellin it for 14.99 they wouldn't give me the additional 5 dollars though for 3 trade ins. But todays prolly the last day
 
Cool, looks like Drake is getting one last day as a $22 trade-in. I only work weekends, so I really don't know which day they adjust the trade-in prices.
 
Now that I've bought 4 copies from TRU and traded them in at Game Rush, I'll point out one that was mentioned earlier... Karnaaj Rally (GBA).

It's no Drake, but it is a $5 investment per copy translated into $18 (after the $5 bump) credit each at Game Rush.

Turning $10 into a new $50 game plus $6 in Blockbuster credit is something I'd settle for any day.
 
Was gonna pre-order Paper Mario 2 or some other GC game, but couldn't, this time. He said it wasn't on the list. The first time I PO'd one was on Sept. 10 and I PO'd RE4. The guy said that the reason I got to PO that one was because they hadn't got the list in yet or something.

So this time I had to settle for what was on the list. I picked Metroid, but didn't really want to. I'd just bought 2 Drakes at CC for $9.99 each and didn't want to come back later only to find out they'd gone down in trade value.

I was wanting either Paper Mario 2, Call of Duty, Prince of Persia or even Second Sight. All of the games I just listed (minus PM2), they had, but ONLY for PS2, don't know about XBOX. So I was mad. You could PO any game, yes, but you wouldn't be getting the Extra $20 off.

Seems like if they had Metroid, then they'd have Paper Mario 2, too. Mostly EA sports games were on the list, along with Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (T.H.U.G 2).

All the Blockbusters I have been to look up pre-order games on the computer. I have Paper Mario 2, Donkey Konga and Metroid Prime 2, PoP 2 and Def Jam (all GCN) already pre-ordered and Halo 2 also. I have seen the list they had it out one time at a store I preordered at because they were learning how to use the system. But as far as I know you aren't just restricted to games on that list, anything in the computer except for CE or SE games, should be fair game. The list is to just make it easier for them I think, not meant to be exclusively games from the list. Show them the in store coupon that says ANY pre-order game.
 
Thanks for the reply. I didn't even know there was an in store coupon. When I pre-ordered RE4, they looked it up on the computer and they said any game that was on their computer you could PO. This was the same guy here too. The first time it took forever since the code they used wouldn't work.
 
What does the coupon look like? I took one of the flyers that have some trade-in values on them, but that's not a coupon. Thanks.
 
Clarifying something... (As a Gamerush employee)

Whether or not a game is eligible for the extra $5 in trade is not dependant on the cashier. Here's how it works...

If the price of the game (pre-owned) is less than what you get in trade with the 5 dollars tacked on, it won't let you do it. For example...

Say Madden 2001 is worth 2.00 in trade. With the extra 5.00 tacked on, it becomes 7.00. Now, since Madden 2001 sells for 6.99, the computer gives the cashier an error when they try to add the 5.00.

Timesplitters, on the other hand, is only worth 1.50 in trade, and also sells for 6.99. Now, since 1.50 and 5.00 make 6.50, and that is less than 6.99, Timesplitters is eligible for the mark-up.

The cashier gets no say on whether or not a game is eligible, it's all on the economics and the computer.

Hope that clears some stuff up.
 
Yeah, now that I think of it...not sure if I got $5 extra for my games....but he more than made up for it for the two screw-ups in MY favor.

Still didn't know what to Pre-Order though, so I have:
Halo 2 CE
MK:Deception (not CE since he could nto do it...oh well)
ESPN NBA 2K5 (since I had credit)

Now, I have $100 left from the errors!

Will probably pick up Battlefront today, since I also have a $10 off coupon on any new game for GameRush.

Then, $60 left....i love "smart" employees

I work at a GameRush store (located in Shelby, NC) and here is a deal that we have going:

Trade in 3 or more games from the 4 major consoles and get $5 extra for each game.


So if you trade in 10 ps2 games that'll be $50 extra.

Also, trade in two games and preorder one for $29.99

I traded in about 25 Drakes at Blockbusters and Gamerush combined. I never heard anything about being banned. I guess most people didn't realize that they could trade in to normal Blockbusters for the same credit.

also picked up my battlefront preorder and then returned it to bestbuy in place of the one i got saturday when they broke the sale date.

I forgot i had a drake left to trade i shoulda took it today :( oh well they have one copy of it for $34.99 at one store i go to. I'll trade in drake and another $2 game tommorrow and preorder something else when i pick up my NHL and Tiger 2005 preorders. :)
 
As of today, trade value for Drake is 7.00.

If you can find Dynasty Tactics 2 on the cheap somewhere, trade for it is $25, I picked up a copy for $12 at a local shop.

Oh well i traded in 2 drakes for top dollar and this last copy i'd kept forgetting to take to make a trade. If they are paying $7 i still make $1 on the deal since i paid $6. This shouldn't be a big deal to most people since Drake is near impossible to find locally now.
 
i have 2 and was hosed by some stupid kid at the counter yesterday saying he couldn't take games without cover or double copies so I (as the dumbass I am) said give me my games back you Shaq-fu and decided to go back today with a different clerk................BAMM $7.00 shite I got hosed!!! It was still $22 yesterday!
 
The Blockbuster here is moving out of the building it is currently located and they are constructing a stand alone store in the parking lot. They had better put a Game Rush in that damn building so I can get in on these deals!
 
the dude at my gamerush told me that any game is available for preorder...but when i called earlier to check if they would be getting katamari damacy, he said it didnt show up in the system...
 
For some reason a used copy of Army Men: Sarge's War for Gamecube was selling for $39.99 so that means used it has to be worth around $15-20.

This could be another potential loophole.
 
Hey, I warned you all on the Drake drop. I'm really going to be pissed if I find a copy of that game underneath one of my car seats this week! The store I work at has about 30 copies of that game now. Looks like Drake will now join Rogue Ops in the Gamerush Hall of Fame.

You can't pre-order any game you want thru Gamerush. They have a printed list in the store of all the games that they can pre-order...mostly big-name titles like GTA and Doom 3, so they can't get the obscure stuff. I tried pre-ordering Metal Slug 3 thru Gamerush earlier this summer. I put my money down on a copy and waited for it to come in. A week after it was released, it *still* didn't come in (but they did received their rental copy). After talking to the manager, she said that they can only pre-order certain titles and that they should have never taken my money for MS3 in the first place (which I got back).

I just tried pre-ordering SVC Chaos, DOA Ultimate, and Gradius V last week but they aren't getting those in either.
 
See thats whats weird to me norkusa. Ive gotten 2 preoreders that werent on the list. Close Combat:First to fight and The Urbz:Sims in the city. But everything else had to be on the list. I have 13 games preordered. I went in today looking to pick up my Battlefront and Def Jam but they only had the rentals in. I thought that was strange. He said to check back on like thursday. Is that normal? Also norkusa,what did they do about your preorder? Refund your credit,get you a new one,what? If anyone can help explain Gamerush's policies on these preorders and availabity of games please respond. Thx in advance.
 
Well you would think that if someone pre-orders something that would place an order in the system, but I don't think the two are connected which is stupid, stupid, stupid :(, figures, we get great deals and loopholes cause they do stupid stuff and we also get the bad, live by the sword die by the sword :)
 
They do have a printed list of all the pre-order games you can get the deal on, but the manager at my Gamerush said they can do it on any game, as long as it's in their computer system. They're only SUPPOSED to do it for the listed games, but it CAN be done for anything.
 
Hmmm I havent had a problem with preordering anything that isnt on the lists at the stores are around my area (10+)... infact I have about 11 preorders right now that weren't on any lists and havent had any problems switching preorders as well.

Has to be a pretty high YMMV.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me when I tried to pre-order Metal Slug 3. They got their rental copies but never my pre-order. They just refunded my credit and put it on my Gamerush card. When the manager explained the situation to me, she said that Blockbuster has an arrangement with the game companies that allow them only to pre-order certain titles (this is why they have that list).

It's strange about this pre-order business. I explained what happened to my MS3 pre-order at another Gamerush store. The guy said that didn't make any sense because they can pre-order any game as long as it's in the system. I told him that's what the girl said who pre-ordered the MS3 for me. The next week I went in the same store to pre-order CVS Chaos and they said they couldn't get me a copy because it wasn't on the list. :roll:

Funny you should bring that up $hady, funny thing happened to me yesterdy! There are like six GRs in my area so I did a lot of trading among four of them during the PO for $9.99 with two trades. I never really traded back to the GR down the street from me cuz I didn't want any problems during the pre order deal. On one occassion I traded in Riddick from a GR I picked up about a week before.

Well yesterday I went in to pick up Battlefront and the girl helping me was looking at my account longer than usual. She then goes on to ask me if I traded games from other GRs. I gave her the "the game was too easy" line and she told me to just be aware that they had contacted the other store! No one has ever given me crap about doing this. As a matter of fact employees from the other stores were aware of people doing it and had no problem doing it! I was a little suspicious about the employee I traded Riddick to. Should have went with my instinct! That little weasel!! :evil:
 
My GameRush had a list of Pre-Order games. They would not PreO MK:Deception :Kollectors Edition with the deal since it sells for $60. Oh well, I will live w/o MK1.

The list was pretty small too....not too many games I wanted for XBOX. Almost got Ghost Recon 2....but I wanted to wait for reviews. Who knows, maybe I still will. I love a good LIVE game.

See, thats the thing. Naive employes at Gamerush will take your money for a pre-order but it doesn't meant that you'll receive it. Thats what happened to me. I'm pretty sure it has to be on that list in order for you to receive a copy.

fiddle_x, you say you have 11 pre-orders at Gamerush right now that *weren't* on the official list. Did you actually receive any of them yet or are you still waiting?
 
So are they, or aren't they doing DoA:U preorders? Or, is this just kind of a YMMV thing?

I know I couldn't do Halo: CE, that's why I ask.
