If its a plain old Block Buster...no go.

I live in MI, and the 4 GR's ive gone to have had this sale going on with 2 other sales, Buy one, Get 1 %50 off and Trade in any game, get $10 off a 39.99 or more NEW game.

Not all GR's are in on this. Of those that do, the rules vary by compentence.

Why hasn't Gamerush expanded yet?
With deals like this, they seem more likely to go under than expand. What are they going to do with all those old psx sports games?
well, the people who arnt looking to take advantage of the offer, will probably bring back a few normal games they play all the time. you also have to realize, being part of BB, they have tons of the newer games they want to get rid of (Mario Kart DD, RE0, Max Payne 2).

And Scube, i found this deal instore.
Ok, thanks for letting me know :) because when I looked online it said nothing about this deal. I bet they are experimenting and if this goes well they will put it in other states
I went to EB... Got 6 PS1 games that added up to a grand total of $11.. took them over to gamerush, and got 8 dollars in trade in credit for them, and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, Simpson Hit and Run and Sonic Heroes for 30.00.
I'm hoping I can get Pandora Tommorow.

I just went and they didn't have anything good :(

I traded in crash bandicoot 2, cd only, road rash 3-d, tekken 3 and nhl 2001 and I got

NFL Street and Prince of Persia the sands of time for 14.39 or something :)

i went and drove around to multiple GR's to find the games i want, and to see what else i could pick up later

So not all Game Rush are participating in this deal? If not all I know the one in CT wont be doing it.

Also is the deal still on even?

Mine was participating... however they only had crap. And they had erased Psone games from the sign so I asumed that they aren't taking them anymore.

I believe the deal started just a few days ago so I'm assuming its not over yet. I stopped by one GameRush on Wednesday or Thursday and didn't see any signs or printouts about this deal. Then I went again on Saturday and they had handwritten signs posted all over the gaming section. Then I headed over to two other ones to see if they had any other games I was interested in and they too had the sloppy handwritten signs...

Best deal evaaaaaaa!

I traded in Soldier of Fortune 2 & Murakumo and got Twin Snakes and a $7 gift card. Whoever thought of this deal is just crazy.

I'll be going back later this week, how's 007: Everything or Nothing?

I was actaully looking to get it for co-op play, but wasn't sure if it supported it or not.

EDIT: nm, found out that it is co-op.

For once, this is an offer that I can not get in on. I called some of the Blockbuster stores near me, and none take video game trade-ins. If anyone knows of any MD stores that offer this, please let me know.
Thanks,
Matthew

Nearest GR is 3 hours away from me. This would have been a fun one to get in on, too. Oh well.

I can't believe they not only let you get any POed for $10 but also let you use the credit for the 2 you traded in towards the $10 purchase. Sweet ass deal. Anyone within 30 minutes of a GR outta hit this one up for all it's worth.

I am surrounded by these things and none of them are partisipating. I am thinking that is a very YMMV type a deal. Any gamerushes outside of MI have this deal?

drfrielgood and me are the only ones to actually do this, and were both in MI, so we might just end up being lucky bastards

if you see any cool new games, let them be known. Most GR's around here have numerous copies of Metal Gear Sold: Twin Snakes, Mario Kart...um, well, thats about it really. i havent really been looking at games that arnt much over 10...although im contemplating using some of the games ive gotten for cheap and beaten to later turn in and get a couple more cheapo games :)

Yeah... this could only be in MI... it seems all those that have posted and included their state (including me) live in michigan. I'm planning on going to another GameRush tonight and looking for some decent deals (hopefully that at least have SOMETHING that is new - unlike my other one), i'll let you guys know how it goes.

Shakespear, you forgot Pandora Tommorow. Many of them have multiple copies of that laying around as well... heck, you could take a couple 1.99 PS1 games from EB, buy Pandora Tommorow for 10, and then turn it back in to them for 25 dollars credit and still be ahead about 15 dollars.

Didnt forget, just trying to find games i want to keep :) I can appreciate SC graphics/gameplay/moves, i just dont have the patience to play it. Yet i mention MGS...nope, i dont make no sense :)

Im actually gonna trade in Mario Kart. Cute game...but ive got F-Zero and zero plans to play multi (even online) with MK.

Wshakspear I am thinking about going to the one in Novi, I am sure you have been to that one but is it close to 12 oaks mall? Also if you have been there did they have a good selection?

its a couple of light down, getting closer to northville. This is the one that i waited 1/2 an hour for the lady to figure out "any" meant "any" and not just the ones pictured. Anyways, they had a better xbox selection than the other stores, and an ok Cube section. PS2...honestly, i havent even been looking :(

ok, I think I may just go to the one in commerce township I think its the one across the street from gamestop. They take sports right? for ps1.
ok, I think I may just go to the one in commerce township I think its the one across the street from gamestop. They take sports right? for ps1.
yes, they'll take sports...but if your talking about the BB near franks nursery, i dont think they have GR yet. There's one accross from the Commerce sign (where the drive-in used to be), that one in Novi, one on pontiac trail accros from walled lake western, and one a belive a ways down 15 mile.

Damn, zewone, are there any good GC games available at that gamerush? Fresno is about an hour away from me, but i'd ahte to go with CA gas prices only to get out there and find nothing.

traded in Mario Kart (Paid 9.99, got $25) and Tony Hawk 4 GC (paid $5, got $7) and purchased SC:pandora Tommorow for 9.99...which i will promptly either beat or figure out i dont like, and then trade that in for $25 worth of credit, giving me around $40+ on my account.

Im hoping all is said and done, ive played/beaten all the games i wanted to, and having enough to buy Psi-Ops or Riddick (or both :) )

What city in CT is this game rush?
I have multiple blockbusters around me but don't know of any gamerushs. Btw we have a gamecrazy near shooters now.

I'm guessing most games still come in the el-cheapo blockbuster clasp as well.

Either way some good deals I can take advantage on, as long as they are in decently used condition.

I had a question about the other deal, the Buy 1 get the 2nd 50% off.

Could I trade in a game to get some money off 1 game, then still get a 2nd game for 50% off? Probably not, right? Thanks.

Here's two games I asked the trade-in values of.

NBA Street 2 (GC) $8.50
Red Faction 2 (GC) $8.50
i bought 2 ps1 games marked 2.99 each got 1 50% off because of other deal. traded them in to get mafia for 9.99. trade that in and another ps1 game for $23. i kept doing this until i had enough to buy FFXI for PS2. got it for like nothing. now they stopped doing this deal because of me(my friend works there and he said when i left my boss told him not to offer that deal anymore) suckas
I guess there's no point for me to go out to Fresno anymore. :(

Wshakspear, which Blockbuster did you find Pandora Tomorrow at? I managed to find a copy of Hitman: Contracts at the Wixom Gamerush, only one I've seen so far though.

The Commerce Township Blockbuster does NOT have a Gamerush, scubasteve, so don't waste your time with it. If you live in Okemos or Lansing or wherever, your closest Gamerush is in Novi. They've got a decent PS2 and XBox selection, not too good for Gamecube though. The Novi Blockbuster is almost right on the corner of 9 mile and Novi Road. The mall is on 12 mile and Novi Road, so just keep going over 96 a few miles down.

On a side note, I went to the movies on Friday night to see Troy and my wallet slid out of my pocket. The theater hasn't seen it and I've had no success in finding it around my house. Besides the $50 in there, there was also a Blockbuster Stored Value Card. Had about $60 on that thing. I once had over $200 on it thanks to the $25 Rogue Ops trade-ins. Still pretty pissed about losing the thing though...

which theatre? if it was Emagine, i'll have my Girlfriend take a look to see if they found it, or get a name of an usher who's ass you can kick :)

As for Pandora Tommorow, i got it at the Commerce twp at Richardson and union lake lk's rd gr. and to be honest, it will most likely end up at the wixom location later today...i just couldnt get into it. too much of the same...but damn good looking though!

no prob. im actually at the point where im just going to cycle through these games and the ones ive already beaten, possibly to get enough to make a new ps2 a freebie.
The gamerush i went to last night the guy said "you know you can just trade in two shit games instead of these good ones" in reference to Tony Hawk 4 and Mario Kart...made me laugh :)

EDIT: for retardedness reasons
I'm goin gamecrazy!
wait... is this for gamerush? or for gamecrazy? or both?
gamerush only
thanks. i was just confused b/c of all the people talking about gamecrazy. i can see how it's easy to mix them up. unfortunately, there are no gamerushes near me :(

yea it's gamerush, i get those 2 mixed up easily. can anyone confirm that they take back games without the case/instructions?

yes, yes they do.

Ok so now I'm just massively pissed that there are no Gamerushes for hours.

I didn't mind not getting the $5 Xbox PH games, I didn't mind when Target gave me the runaround for rainchecks, but this deal is just too freaking cool.

so i headed back there last night and most of the good games were gone. seems like word spread fast, cause on saturday there were a ton of games to choose from. also, the staff took notice of the deal and bought all the $3 used ps1 games and traded them back in for a more recent used title. some of them were even trading in those said newer titles for store credit to buy dvd's.

they said the deal is being test marketed in select stores, if it's successful, it's going to be a permanent thing, like the trade 1 game in and get $10 off a new game deal they have also. but with all the people taking advantage of the deal, I doubt this will last long.

very interesting. and yeah, the credit can be used on anything in the store. im saving either for a ps2 or a couple of newer games (with that $10 off, of course.)
