I saw a Mario Party 5 in either one of the Richardson stores or the Garland one off of Lavon. Can't really remember tho but I definately saw one last week... You could go to the site and call them to have them check for ya. I stopped by the one by Town East again just a few hours ago and traded in two games and got Hitman Contracts for Xbox. It was hidden behind the counter instead of where all the other used games were but the guy there was friendly enuff to tell me about it. :D

Are you still in Fresno? Because according to Blockbuster, there's no Gamerushes in California. If there are a few that don't show up for some reason, might be worth it to check around.

lol...i bought the double pack, realized i only play with VC, and even then i only blow crap up. I dont even care about the story, sadly. its ok i guess, its just a racing game with guns (a good thing).

on a side note... will i enjoy FF:Crystal Chronicals at all if it will only be me playing? Ive heard its playable, but im wondering if the single player is "broken"

Picked up NFSU and FF:CC. Im gonna go play them in a minute.

I now have $110 in credit after about $30 out of pocket. I'm kinda hoping i don't get into either game, that way i can trade them in tommorow and finnaly get a ps2. That's good, cause i own Kingdom Hearts and have played maybe 3 hours on my GF's sisters PS2.
 
Hello all, and I just used the Game Rush deal to my advantage again. :D

I found Mario Party 5 and got it, thanks for the tip polobearjp!

But, I got Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles instead of my originally planned Alias, because I didn't like the shape the disc was in, and well, it'll be 20 dollars in a few months anyway. ;)

I'll be going back to Game Rush in about 2-3 weeks again for sure!

The total for both games I got was about 14 dollars, great stuff. I also got the original case and manuals for both games!
 
Not sure how trustworthy word of mouth is from a BlockBuster employee but the guy in one of the Mesquite, TX stores here told me earlier today that starting next week, they're doing a trade in 3 games and get any used game for $4.99 and that it's only going to last for a week. I didn't ask what day of next week so it could start anytime from sunday (23rd) til next saturday (29th). Time to dig out those old PS1 games... ^_^
 
Yup. Completely positive. The guy also mentioned that to me, Polobear. Maybe it was the same worker, does he have a goatee? :D If so, it looks like it's the same guy, and was it at the one in Town East?

I mean, I got 4 games in GREAT shape for like a total of probably 30 dollars all-together. Those games being Wario Ware: Mega Party Games, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, and Mario Party 5.

Game Rush rules. That simple.

Like I said, I'm going back in a few weeks to see if they have Custom Robo or any other cool game I don't have for the Xbox/PS2/GCN/GBA.

They did seem to have quite a few more used titles there this time around then they did last week. I wanted to pick up another game but sadly, I only brought 2 with me. it is "ANY" game, i sat a gamerush for 1/2 an hour as someone figured that out...

side note: FF:CC is actually kinda fun...and gorgeous

Which game did you get? Which games did you trade in? It's weird that we are swapping off, visiting the same stores and we don't even know what each other looks like... perhaps I saw you when I was there tonight? Lol, wouldn't that be a coincidence? :p

Oh, and Game Rush is officially the best thing to happen to us CAGers, these deals are remarkable...
 
Picked up Mario Party 5 at the GR in Novi,Mi. There is one copy left on an endcap. Had to ask for a Game Cube case, but he was good about it. Originally got this for my girlfriend but after playing it with her for a while i'm hooked! *sigh* I saw WindWaker at the Farmington Hills or Plymouth location as well.

Has anyone been using both the trade 2 and buy one get one 50% off? ;) It worked for me the first time I tried, but I don't know if it'll fly again? I ended up with Time Crisis 3 for 9.99 and Max Payne 2 for 6.50 plus 27 in trade in credit on top of that.

Buy one get one free? You mean buy one and get one [the cheapest one] 50 percent off? I never heard of buy one get one free... but if your store has one, then wow. Awesome! :shock:

Picked up my PS2 w/network adapter/atv off road fury, a free rental (Transformers) and a free crappy controller...for $25 out of pocket.

I was there on Saturday afternoon when I nabbed a copy of Hitman Contracts for Xbox. It was hidden behind the counter but the dude there was nice enuff to mention it to me. I traded in DW4 for PS2 ($18) and PGR for Xbox ($7) so I got $14 and change store credit. They're also giving $35 to buy back Hitman Contracts so I might do that later in the week if I don't enjoy the game. Hey, I'm not complaining! :D
 
yea, I know! Its 40 dollars for ANY new game and I got hitman contracts new but I was confused because they give 35 for a used one, lol.

No way... I was there around 5-6 PM on Saturday... When in the "afternoon" did you go, around 2-3? Because that'd be a shame... That'd be pretty cool if I passed by you in the store without even knowing it! :p

I followed the fine print to the letter...even reading it to a few BB employees that knew nothing about GR. This statarted with me wanting to clear out some clutter and get some new games, and then when i realized i had about $60 in credit after a day or two doing nothing other than getting a new game, playing it, and finding out i didnt like it (SC:pandora Tommorow, Mario Kart).

Nothing illegal, i never traded in more than 2 games a day, didnt get anywhere near the 20 trade in limit, and i didnt dupe any employees with bad games/cd's (which would have been SO easy to do...but im not that much of a bastard)

BTW, the new model PS2's are VERY quiet...very nice.

I know, WShakespear, I knew you were following the policy to the letter. Since this is such a great promotion, I'd like to see Game Rush revisit it in a couple months. Unfortunately, if people unfairly abuse it, you can be certain you'll never see it again.
 
It really is a neat sale, isnt it.

after all 200 posts starting with "Best-Buy 4.99...", if i wasnt stuck at work (and i didnt hate phones) i'd see what those games would trade-in for.
 
hey guys i got a pretty big update to this. I went to gamestop today and got 2extreme and some football game for 3.60 total. Then i went to gamerush and they had a used copy of twin snakes that someone had traded in (it wasn't one they rented out i could tell cause it was still in its original case) and so i take all the stuff to the counter. The guy told me that since i have a blockbuster account the amount of trade ins you do is saved to your account. He said that u can trade in 2 games and get a used for 10 bucks...trade in 3 and get a used for 5 bucks or trade in four games and get a free used game. Just remember you can only trade in 2 games a day so dont try walking in with 4 games to trade in all at once. So anyway i traded in the two ps1 games and im gonna go get two more tomorow and trade them in and get twin snakes for a total of 2.00 out of pocket (the ps1 games trade in for 1.50 and i buy them for 2.00).

Well, I actually traded in 4 games a day, twice in a row... You can only BUY two games a day, not trade-in. Besides, it just depends on the employee you have.

So, I caved in, and decided to buy WWF Attitude and Jupiter Strike at Gamestop, costing me a total of about 3.50, went to a Game Rush, and got the last copy of Alias there, for about 7 dollars. So, I basically just got a practically new game (it was in the original case, had the manual, and had a very clean disc), for about 11 dollars out of my pocket total.

Yay for Game Rush and us abusing it's policies!
 
hmmm... 8 crappy ps1 games...total of maybe $18...trade in for 2 brand new high $ games....traded back in for credit= GBA player or 1/2 FFX1

BTW, as another tip, make sure you have one of thier Gift Cards so you can take your credit to where the good games are. Also, no matter how duh they are about it, you can put the credit on the card with a promotion taking place after

Anyone know if I can expect to see Metroid Zero Mission, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, or Custom Robo used at Game Rush in like 2-3 weeks?

I really want those games... and I know two of them came out today, but, still. Zero Mission has been out since February.

BTW: I don't see why everyone hates Alias, it's a good game, aside from sometimes clunky graphics and a bad battle system, of course, I'm just a big fan of the show, so I'll just be quiet. :?
 
Does anybody happen to know when this 'trade 2 get a preowned for $9.99' ends? I'm gonna be outta town for 3 weeks soon so I was wondering if I should trade more now or if it'll still be running til the end of June...
 
I don't think it ever ends. I think it's been with Game Rush since it first arrived... That's a relief. This way I NEVER have to buy a full-priced game again! :D

50 dollars for something I'll only play once or twice is just far too much for me to spend. I actually think that I won't buy many 50 dollar games ever again if this "deal" does in fact continue. However, I will be reserving Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, so, that'll probably be my next 50 dollar game purchase, and that comes out in late November...
 
I just hit the jackpot and picked up hitman contracts for 6.09 out of pocket. trading it in tomorow for 35. Are you guys sure you can trade in more than 2 games a day?? It must depend on the employees cause the guys working at mine say 2 a day.
 
actually, im not so sure about that now... but if there gonna do a "trade in 4" sale...well, thats moe than 2...

i BELEIVE it means no more than 2 games at 9.99.

and nephets this only started a week or 2 ago. The only sale they've had before this (other than buy one get one something) is trade in any game, get $10 off a new game.
 
oh and in store today the sign was changed from trade in two get one 9.99 to trade in 3 get one 4.99. but the guy said u have to trade in the three on two separate visits.
 
my gamerush is being stupid. first off, they didn't have the trade in 2 and get a game for 9.99 deal b/c the computer messed up or something. that's what the employee said. then i call today to find out about the trade in 3 deal, and she tells me that they aren't doing that b/c they received an email from corporate telling them that they won't be doing it. she said they were having trouble with the trade-ins. what is going on? have i just found one of the few stores that isn't going through with the deal? :whistle2:/ if this was mentioned earlier in the thread, please excuse me. i wasn't going to read through 11 pages to find my answer. :)

Hmm, I've been able to trade in 4 games in a day at the same time on two different occasions. In fact, I just did so earlier... Traded in Hitman Contracts, Star Wars Super Bombad Racing, Deathrow, and Rogue Ops and picked up the GTA Double Pack & Red Dead Revolver both for Xbox and I got $26 in store credit. There wasn't a GameRush employee and these two ladies were confuzed and almost gave me more than $40 in store credit. Haha...

All stores started out doing this, but due to incompetence among non GR staf, some stores have apparently found it not worth the hassel
 
Really? This deal has only been running for a few weeks?

God, I had a stupid employee at the Game Rush at Pioneer (a horrible place, BTW), he said this deal has been around since Game Rush first started showing up in Blockbusters... :?

I really hope this deal sticks around for a while, though, I still have 4-5 games I want to try and find in the next few weeks! :p

I've been thinking about buying like, 3 copies of Hitman Contracts, and to sell back 2 of them, and I'd get like 70 dollars credit for them, right? And I would only have to spend like 5-6 dollars on them originally, depending on the games I would have traded in to them... I'm sure this is frowned upon, but I have a friend who really wants a Gamecube, and I could buy him a used one in the store for 80 bucks, and I'd only have to spend about a total of 30 dollars in the end...

You can only trade in one for $10 off and even then, its not all new games. They have a lil printout somewhere with about 3-5 games that you could save $10 on...

You would get $105 in store credit for 3 copies of Hitman Contracts.

However, that is pretty awesome, oh man, 105 dollars credit and I'd only have to spend about 20 bucks or so, wow, awesome. I might do that soon... :lol:

As of around noon today, the Town East location had 1 Hitman Contracts for Xbox, I traded it in. Didn't see any other display boxes for it in the used section tho...
 
Are you guys finding these games directly on the shelves??? Because I can certainly tell you that my GameRushes (Sterling Heights and Rochester) don't have anything too great.

Yeah, but there's a lot of games behind the counter, just ask them and chances are, if it's a major game that's been out for about a month or two, chances are that they'll have it in.

Hey Nephets, any chance you could help me ask if they have any copies of Samurai Warriors behind the counter the next time you're at the Town East location? I never thought about that and I'm too lazy to drive all the way over there for a fourth time this week. :shock:
 
Hey guys anyone know what they give for NFL street, mario kart double dash or metal gear twin snakes? those three seem to be the only high-profile games left at my gamerush.
