Game Pass

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

$21.99 for 1 Game

http://www.gamerush.com/rules_gamepass.php click this link to find out about gamepass at Gamerush.

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

traded black (ps2) and dq8 for 22 and 27 respectively. doubt the prices will be going up, so if you are considering it... its a gamble since this sale coming up will most likely affect their trade in prices.
Yup, sale starts on March 14, I have a list for my local GR but I will have to get that out of the hands of my store manager somehow ;) . I'll probably get that to you guys on Saturday. I hope it's the same for every GR because there will be no way to tell if the game is on sale if it isn't marked at your GR since the price may not come up correctly when scanned since it comes off automatically, fingers crossed on that one.

As for any 360 games or PSP games being on sale, I do remember a few PSP games that were going on clearance at my GR. I believe that they were Gretzky NHL, NBA, smart bomb, and one more game (NHL I believe). Nothing spectacular but like I said, I'll get my GR list to you on Saturday night/Sunday morning since I work there on Saturday morning
I guess JaysonR couldn't get his hands on the list?

If that is true, what a worthless sale.

Where is Suikoden IV and Shadow Hearts: Covenant that have been there since the damn store OPENED?!?

Only the Cube games would be worth it, really, if you were into that sort of thing.

Also, MGS 3 comes out Tuesday... are we 100% sure Gamerush isn't going to get it in?

Still counting on GR to at least get 1 LE per store...

I agree, that is utterly craptacular. What happened to all the GH/PH games being part of it? I was also hoping for PS2 memory cards to be on sale.

The only things I have a slight interest in are Metroid Zero Mission (though I bought a used copy at GR not too long ago - maybe I'll just 'upgrade' to new), NDS Bomberman (though I don't think they have one), Mario Party 5 (since it is the only one I don't have and I know they DO have one copy!), DKJB (but I know they DON'T have this), and the "Eye Toys from $15" if this means Eye Toy Play 2. The last item there would be great, as I had considered picking it up for $50 at one point.

But other than that, it is a big "meh"... Thanks for the info though lpj8, at least that gives us a baseline of what to expect. If GR wants to clear out their excess new game inventory, though, this sale won't even make a dent.

Edit: Here is what I was HOPING to get with the sale:
PS2 Kingdom Hearts
PS2 Suikoden Tactics
PS2 Y's
PS2 Destroy All Humans
NDS Castlevania
PSP A bunch of stuff but not the 3 listed :D
GC Not much as I already have most of it - but Mario Party 5 is nice actually

There's tons of other (older) PS2 games I would probably pick up too if they became $10 in GR credit.

Gamerush usually gives $1 - $5 dollars for crappy Xbox games, right? I have a ton of Xbox junk that won't be worth it to put on Ebay, or really sell it on here... wonder if I could salvage it somehow.

I'm only expecting $1.50 for things like Max Payne / Max Payne 2, maybe $5 for Grand Theft Auto Double Pack.

Gamerush still gives more in trade-in at this point then EB / Gamestop, correct?

Plus, how are they when you do a huge trade-in? They are usually slow as hell here just trading in one or two games, I imagine for 20 - 30 games I'd have to set aside the entire day

Roufuss, you can only trade-in 20 items on your account per day at one store.

Well, I believe there's a limit of 20 trade-ins per day, though I've never tested it :D. Why does it take so long to trade in? They scan the card, type a few keys, scan the games, print a receipt and you sign it. I know in Florida they take blood samples and all that, but still I can't see how doing a bunch of games is much worse than 1 or 2.

I would expect $1.25 for the really cheap stuff these days - probably 50 cents better than EB, maybe? They have dropped their low end trade-in values recently. I think the $10 used games get $2.50 now (instead of $3).

I still have some fodder from the CC Buy 2 Get 1 free sale that I was holding on to for potential future GR trade-in deals. Since it was dirt cheap I might as well hold on to it. Some of them are $2.50 trade-ins, so if they stick with their old restrictions (games must sell for $7.99 or more to qualify) they will work. The others ($1.25 trade-ins and PS1 games which get, what, 25 cents?) simply aren't worth the trouble :D.

Blockbusters are starting a spring clearance sale on tuesday the 14th. A lot of games and accesories are going to be 50% off their normal price. Some games will be as low as 2.50. many are about 10 dollars. And controllers for all systems will start as low as 7.50.
The titles I can remember that will be on the sale are

[the list lpj8 posted above]

There is a lot more, but that is all I can remember off the top of my head. Most of the games are gonna be only 10 dollars.

As was mentioned earlier, most of the GH/PH/PC titles will likely be half-off (although maybe not some of the newest additions), and probably most of the other games they don't bother to keep locked up behind the counter. Judging from the incomplete list that was provided, it looks like the OP only recalls sections of the list. I'm sure most of the "deals" won't exactly be stellar, but I'd be willing to bet that there will be more than enough steals to warrant a visit on Tuesday.

Yeah I didn't bother going to the site - I figured the link was just the list posted here, I didn't know other important info was withheld :D. That was a strange list for the OP to remember though - it definitely points to there not being any REALLY good stuff on sale (or he might have remembered that instead of things like Evil Dead and SSX Tricky ).

But make no mistake, I will definitely be there on Tuesday (around lunch, no point making TOO big a deal about it).

I wish they would include the used games also in this sale, slickdeals guy said it was for the new ones only. Saw a lot of used PH/GH/PC games that weren't available new at my GR. :( It would also be nice to pick some memory cards for gamecube for less than retail though! :)

Yeah, one of the best (and probably forgotten) GR sales was when they had nearly all used accessories 50% off, including PS2 memory cards. Combine that with the fact that, for whatever reason, their red cards were actually new but opened and sold as used, and you were getting a pretty good deal ($10 in GR credit). Now that I'm getting into PS2 RPG's I need more though :D.

Unfortunately I don't need another GC memory card - those big ones hold the saves for every GC game I have, plus I already have another for backup (which has come in VERY handy since my 3 year-old manages to erase game saves ALL THE FREAKING TIME when I'm not looking).

i remember the 50% sale. thanks to that i have about 6 or 7 red cards. never need to erase saves again. finding the one i want on the other hand... just grab a few 1019 memory cards for the gc and you are golden.

Yeah, I already have two 1019's, paid near retail for them :whistle2:(. I want more of those red PS2 cards though. I only got 2 during that sale - bah, thought I was saving my credit for something better.

$2.50 adds up though, espically at about 20 + games.

I wish there was some way I could see a bunch of trade - in values without calling them up asking for 20 + titles, or dragging them all down there.

Thanks to all for the 20 + rule as well, I did not know that. I've got about 35 or so Xbox games that are pretty common, and I just want to dump them ASAP, maybe put them all towards Daxter.

having come to the realization that game rush may never do any 360 game promotions, i decided to do a trade-in dump of half my collection (i ended up trading 32 games in)

what i did was used a bar code generator site (i am not sure how to link it) and printed out on 6 pieces of paper UPCs for my then-60-plus games and took the list to game rush and best buy (i didn't bother with eb and gamestop but you of course could), it was a pretty fast and easy way to get a comparison, i ended up trading at best buy as their trade-in prices were better (i averaged about 10 a game) and of course best buy credit is much more useful than blockbuster credit

i just mention this because it is an easy way to price compare at the game stores you are interested in with the added bonus of not having to walk into stores with your game collection and have them put little stickers on them

Thanks... didn't know that was there.

Looks like I'm looking at around $1.50 - $2.50 per game, which isn't bad considering most of them don't sell worth jack on Ebay.

consider craigslist then (i bet you could pull 5 per and i don't even know what you have)

Send me a list...you mentioned games like Max Payne...never it...I might be willing to do $2.50 a game or better just because it's cheaper than renting. I can usually sell games with no Ebay value pretty easily at our twice annual community garage sale.

Does anyone know if gamerush will be getting in the limited edition MGS3 subsistence with bonus disc? Sorry if this has already been asked.

I've asked, but the only reply someone gave me is that MGS 3:S wasn't in the computer at all, which is what they told me on the phone too.

You'd be surprised. The trade-in form in Florida only handles six trade items. If you bring in seven to twelve items, they have to completely fill out a second form. Thirteen to eighteen, a third, etc. Almost not worth bringing the nineteenth and twentieth titles.

I'm still trying to figure out why EB/GS doesn't need to do these forms, but GameRush does

In any case, I need to get a second GameCube memory card, so I'll check out the sale if only to get that. Half off and paying with fifty-cents on the dollar credit is essentially a 75% off sale. ;)

I don't think EB would let you do that... they 'require' you to bring the game into the store and place it on the counter before they will shoot you an offer of a buck.

what they have
That isn't a full list. Each store has a different list based on what they have in stock. I'll add some more that i got from my store. I only have what i wrote down though. Also, tentative end date is September. Forget the exact date though.

Picked up The Outfit Faceplate today. The game isn't in yet, but it was nice to get a pre-order item early.

I looked all the way through the map they had in the store and didn't find any mention of the 50% off sale or a list of games, so I can't help with any lists or info of any kind. I'm guessing that it is just an out of date map or something because I'm hoping this isn't going to be a YMMV deal.

Have any of the 360 games (new not used) at GR had price drops? I know I read somewhere in the forums that Kameo and some other game was now $39.99 at some stores.

I have $109 in GR credit and I am planning on picking up a couple 360 games. I also have a rebate from the Xbox live Gold kit that I plan to use with one of these games. Just trying to get my money to stretch as far as possible.

Kameo hasn't dropped, but Amped 3 is $40 new now I believe at GR. They sell the used version for $35 now, so I'm just assuming the price for a new one is $40 since it dropped in price everywhere.

Oh, and 360 Headsets now trade in for $4.50. Kind of sucks that they dropped in price since I got a couple of extra ones from those Live Kits. I guess I'll check around to see what other stores are giving for them.

Is amped 3 any good? Anyone else know of any other drops for 360 games? $20 after rebate wouldn't be too bad for Amped 3.

Also, I am new to the whole live thing, how do the headsets work? Are they wireless? Where do they connect to?

The 360 headsets plug into the bottom of the controller...not wireless.

What does Madden 360 trade for? I may trade in, may keep for a bit....I'm indecisive lately with the lack of good deals or the possibility they may have a trade-in deal again one day.

The game is a ton of fun, I was playing the Demo all weekend. The graphics are nothing to boast about, but the destructible environment is just a gas. I love the air strikes and artillery.

They told me at my store that it was "ongoing". So that fits with the Sept. end date you mention. It is almost more of a price reduction than a temporary sale, maybe that's why it isn't in the MAP? Shipwreck, they didn't have it in the MAP at my store either, they thought they might get a supplement to it just for this "sale". While our info is a bit spotty we seem to have multiple independent confirmations that SOMETHING is happening on Tuesday anyway . I'll be there at lunch tomorrow to find out.

Edit: Wow, two of the best PSP releases yet are coming out this same week:

Daxter:
http://psp.ign.com/articles/694/694798p1.html

Syphon Filter:
http://psp.ign.com/articles/695/695160p1.html

Maybe some of you have preorders to switch, though it is probably a bit late. At least with these games, GR is likely to get 1 or 2 copies beyond their preorders .

I wish Star Wars Battlefront II had the infrastructure setup that Syphon Filter has. I don't care how good Syphon Filter is, as I'm just not into those kinds of games, but maybe it is a sign of better things to come. And I'll definitely crack open Daxter (which I preordered at GR about a year ago) and give my PSP a spin for the first time in a few months!

More gaming goodness this week:
Damn, I have never seen a review score this high from IGN:
http://ps2.ign.com/articles/694/694781p1.html

Makes me sad I don't like these action/stealth/shooter type games :whistle2:(. Actually, I have no idea what this Metal Gear stuff is all about - it is a big mystery to me, much like Halo. And I really can't tell from reading the reviews what it is you do in these games - it's all a big insider-only type of thing :D. You have to have played them to understand the reviews.

I bought Amped 3 for $35 used solely to trade in for Oblivion at GameStop (Along with NBA2k6), but I must say, its wildly fun and engaging.

I never liked THUG or any of those other extreme sporting games, and I don't even snowboard myself, but the settings and the tricks are fun and easy/intuitive to do.

I may not trade it in, but if I do, I'll probably buy another when it drops down to $20 or so.

It easily beats KAMEO and King Kong and maybe even Condemned (which was excellent but just incredibly short.)

Yea I set up everything for the sale tonight. Starts tomorrow.

So we still have no official list?

I really don't want to drive down there and check if the list isn't much better then what lpj8 posted... Dynasty Warriors for PSP might be a deal, if Gamerush marked the MSRP down to $29.99, so 50% off would be $15.

However, I have strong feeling they still have it for $50, and getting it at $25 isn't a deal at all.

Anyone able to get a better list yet? I'm in school right now, I might sneak out around 11:30 (lunch) to go see what they have. I'll report back a little past noon if anything worth mentioning was there.

50% - price marked is the 50% off price:

PSP battery (Sony brand) $17.50

Logitech PSP stuff: Play Gear Pocket (case/$9.99), also had ear phone splitter, etc...

Crash TwinSanity $9.99

MegaMan Collection $9.99
