I went to the nearest Game Rush...they had over 100 Gameboy/GBC games last week. They had THREE left today. I guess some flea market/Ebay dealers caught wind of the deal becuase there were multiples of a lot of games and I just can't see them selling that fast otherwise since a lot of good games have been sitting there for months at slightly higher prices.

Anyway, I bought Megaman 2 for GBC for $2.99 and passed up Metroid II for $4.99. There were in a different part of the store than where the Gameboy games usually are, which is how the dealer must have missed them.

NOT Metroid Prime II (GameCube) but Metroid II for the original GB, correct?

As is W.150th store in Cleveland, Ohio. Just saw Dragon Warrior III there for GBC a week ago. Went in on Wednesday and it (along with all the other last gen games) were gone. They said that they were shipped out of the store.
 
I drove around Indianapolis today and most Game Rush stores were cleaned out or had shipped them off or something. I guess there's also the slim chance they put them in a box in the back to be repriced. A couple stores I went to had the new tags on the games already and actually had some out. One store had all the old prices on the games but they still rang up much lower than marked. Here's what I got:

Even got a few plastic Gameboy cases included with some of the games (they go for $1 each on Ebay) and one instruction manula. Not a bad haul. I was kind of disappointed that so many games were gone though. I drove around to a bunch of GR stores about a month ago and they had an average of 100 GB/GBC games per store...some many more...some many less. Today I saw the games I bought plus about 10-15 games I didn't buy...and that was at about 10 stores I visited.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (Gameboy Color game that rang up as a GBA game) - $9.99 (I passed on this one...not sure if it's a universal error or unique to this store, but they have it in the computer as a GBA instead of a GBC game.)

And not from the markdowns but still a good deal:

The good thing is that these markdowns should be permanent and that Gameboy and GBC games will show up at my local stores on a weekly basis just like they always have, I'd imagine. They've never gotten much in trade value and people seem to trade them in all the time anyway.

So GR sells Texas Holdem DS for $25 used and $30 new...what do they give in trade for it? It's a $10 game at TRU and less than that if you can find it at a going out of business TRU like I did ($7).
 
Got my Full Auto faceplate today. Unfortunately it was missing a little spring and a memory card cover is loose, but it's better than not having one.

Fn3 for ps2/xbox gets 28 while the 360 version gets 35
 
Just got back from my Gamerush. Their price stickers are really out of whack. 4/5 of their RE4s were $34.99, one was $14.99. Their GB/GBC games were all marked as $6.99-$14.99.

I got a laugh when i noticed they had 7 Kuon's there marked for $14.99 each, guess not many ppl like that game, no idea where they got so many from :p.
 
Flatout XBOX is still getting $27 as of yesterday...this has to drop soon - too good of a deal.

Anyone trade-in Trapt lately? I noticed it's still going for $50 at GR, so you'd think they'd give decent trade-in value for it.
 
Talking to a CSR yesterday, I get the feeling that something big is going down with GameRush. I was asking about the price on a particular game because I thought it had dropped (it hadn't). It's been about 8-9 months since they had any kind of really good deal (trade 3 games get 1 used for $5, IIRC) so hopefully something like that is coming up.

Could be, but I wouldn't automatically assume one smirk means the absolute worst case scenario :D. Maybe he just knows about some great deal/sale and wasn't supposed to tell you. Remember last year they had some tremendous sales - the 50% off select Nintendo titles, 30% off all Nintendo games, and the 50% off used accessories (I'd like that to come around again so I can get more PS2 memory cards for all these RPG's I've yet to play!). Not to mention the trade 3 get a used game for $5 - however, I believe that that particular deal had to be one of their biggest money-losers, so it would be OK with me if they never brought it back. I just want another preorder deal and I want them to stay around long enough to get all these preorders and get the PS3 and Revo. The used section at my GR is getting worse by the day, so they could use some sort of trade-in deal just to get some stock back in.
 
Yeah, I hope it doesn't die either. I have about $200 in credit there....I would like to get a PS3, and this is probably the only way I'll get it, since I don't want it that bad.

picked up BLACK for ps2 today. So far its ok. Didnt ask what would happen since I have a receipt showing I paid 49.99 for it and the current price is 39.99, but not too bad a deal, since I will probably sell it to them for 25ish once I beat it a couple times.

Do we get anything for preordering Kingdom Hearts II? I preordered at GameRush and they did not mention anything, but a friend of mine preordered at EBGames and they said he should be getting an artbook or something.

Is Gamerush a stand alone store like gamecrazy is to hollywood vide0

if so the blockbuster on coldwater here has a chance to open up one... the doughnut shop next to blockbuster shut down and there is a little store sitting up for rent right next to them

hopefully they would rent it out and make it into a gamerush BUT they told me that Gamerush is offically overwith (meaning there will be no new gamerush stores and dont be shocked to see some of them start to close)

No, GameRush is basically just a section inside Blockbuster with a separate counter and cash register that never gets used anymore. It really is just like an expanded gaming section when compared to regular Blockbusters.
 
I was surprised to pick up Black yesterday for the Xbox. Pretty fun game. That was the good news. The bad news was that my Tales of Legendia is no where to be found. Not only that, they have none on order. So, why did I preorder this? To which I received no reply...

They do supposedly have one on order for me, but we are now, what, nearly a month overdue? I'm not holding out much hope fot it. They have had other games "on order" and never received them.

Well obviously we haven't heard GR is "overwith". But it has been apparent that they have not expanded in quite a while, and that's not a good thing.

And as others have said, GR is just part of the regular BB, which I actually prefer vs the Gamecrazy setup. I can go into the GR BB any time BB is open and pick up games, trade games, preorder, whatever. GC is always closed earlier than Hollywood, which annoys the hell out of me. Sure, you don't get the dedicated game employees, but on the other hand, if there are problems with BB and GR then it is LESS likely they will get rid of it if it is simply an extension of the store vs it's own separate identity. They can just do what they have already done - that is, cut out regular GR hours and just have the BB employees handle it. Yeah, the service can sometimes suck because of that, but if it keeps GR around then I'm all for it. :lol:.

Quick summary of why "GR is doomed":
- No expansions in quite a while
- No dedicated GR employees or hours
- No good deals to speak of in a while
- Rumored huge clearance sale around Easter
- Games sometimes don't come in on time or at all
- Give way too much in credit for some games

And for a change of pace, hints as to why GR is NOT doomed:
- Used stock seems to be selling well (at least at my store)
- They actually get most DS games in now, and on time, even though they no longer rent them
- Recent shipment of Xbox360 hardware
- No definitive word from any employees (just second hand rumors) about closing
- They've started giving much less credit for many games :D

I'm sure there's more...
 
Hmm... the GR computer today showed that they were supposed to be receiving a copy of Generation of Chaos. I'm doubting they'll actually get it, but it would be nice to be able to buy it with GR credit.
