Game Pass

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

$21.99 for 1 Game

http://www.gamerush.com/rules_gamepass.php click this link to find out about gamepass at Gamerush.

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).
BREAKING NEWS: 50% clearance on selected games and accessories starting in late March-early April. I saw the map today since I work at a GR. No specific details were given except for the fact that there was going to be a "clearance sale to make room for new merchandise."

More details will follow as I get them
Any way of knowing if this is a continuation of the vary-by-region deals or if its national?
Around $22... they sell for $45 used I think, so half the value of that.

You'd probably get a bit more selling DQ 8 on here.
Dragon quest gets $28 and I think SC III gets $27 or $24
Probaly all the new crap they held onto. Wouldn't expect much except the GBA Videos and such.
Agreed. And since a ton of their stuff never lowered its MSRP i'm not expecting anything great.
Any way of knowing if this is a continuation of the vary-by-region deals or if its national?
I'm pretty sure it's national, it was in our "map" which says what deals we are going to post up and whatnot and I'm sure they don't make individual maps for individual stores
Does anyone have any idea how much Conkers for Xbox will fetch?
$7, maybe $8 at most.
I'm pretty sure it's national, it was in our "map" which says what deals we are going to post up and whatnot and I'm sure they don't make individual maps for individual stores
Well, they actually too. Different markets to be exact. If you have a high amount of latinos for example in you're area, you have a 'Latino store' (I think they had a more PC-Flavored name for it thouh). So you would advertise/have sales/trade-in specials catering to that demographic.

I agree, but that put that in all maps. Where I live, we don't have a large latino demographic but that option is always in the map even though we never use it. It's there for the stores there are even making me believe moreso it will be national.

Does anyone know if Gamerush is getting the Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition (the one for 39.99)?

I missed getting it at GS / EB, and I just read that Gamecrazy just started accepting preorders for it... Gamerush may be my last hope, but I doubt they are going to get any in :(
So, Burnout and Ghost Recon for 360 this week....correct? Busy weekend for me.
Yeah they should both be out this week.

On another note, does anyone know how much Metroid Prime Hunters for DS is going to cost at GR? I pre-ordered Tetris DS and it was only 29.99, but at EB its 34.99.

$30 seems to be the correct price for Tetris - EB/GS is randomly overcharging for some games lately, it seems. I would assume MPH will be $35 everywhere. I'm hoping for a decent sale price on one of those two games though. I don't have enough credit left for those and Odama.

Okay, here's a trade price that will be of interest to some people, but I think it's something you're going to have to move on fast (as in today).

Genji (PS2) - $19 :hot:

GR just dropped the price on new copies of Genji to $30, but used copies are still priced at $35. I'm thinking this might be a typical case of GR changing new prices on Sunday and used prices on Tuesday, so you might want to hurry if you want to get in on this.
Nice deal, shipwreck.

A $9 spread.

Also, GR tends to have copies of Paper Mario floating around $25.

Too bad my nearest Game Rush is 40 miles away.
Meh, not even doubling your money. Not really worth it compared to some of the recent trade-in bonanzas we've had :D. However, I might pick this game up as everyone is raving about it on that thread. I don't mind the occasional very short game - that way I can actually complete something. So thanks for the link Ship, I might just get one for myself later today.

I guess I have a reason to go back to Best Buy, since it's in stock locally... hopefully regular BBs give $19 as well. 10% coupon at Best Buy will give me a solid $9 after tax. Been looking for something to build my credit back up a bit.

If I can manage to trade in two or three I should be good for another month or so of new releases.

No problem. There really haven't been any big traders for the past couple of weeks so close to 2:1 store credit for something readily available seemed like a pretty good deal to me.
Exactly, the question is would you spend $10 of real money to get $19 in store credit? Not worth it if you ask me
Umm, it's almost like a 50% off coupon for whatever you are going to buy at GR. So if you were going to buy say a 360 game at GR, it seems to me that I'd rather spend $30 in actual money rather than $60.
Exactly, the question is would you spend $10 of real money to get $19 in store credit? Not worth it if you ask me
Metroid Prime Hunters for under $20? Yes, please. You guys are all horribly spoiled :p

No, I agree, if your credit is running low (as is the case with Botticus - I already had MP Hunters preordered for $29.99 :D) it is a good deal. I did plenty of $10 -> $19 trades during the TRU clearance in early January. I have been spoiled though and have only been doing trades that more than double credit for me nowadays. It is partly because I have way more credit than I know what to do with and partly for my own protection - I just want to limit my trading activity for a while. I'm STILL holding out (faint) hope for a new trade-in deal and want to have a fairly clear trading history leading up to it.

My next purchase will be the Harry Potter DVD tomorrow - hopefully they have it in as it is my daughter's birthday. Yeah, it will cost $22 vs $15 most places but with BB credit it is worth it. I figure it costs me about $10 that way.

Some people can't do basic math...$19 is better than $10 unless you don't buy new or used games or rent movies ever. Trade in 2 copies and you've made $18 profit and can buy yourself a brand new DS title for around $20.

Now if some one posted a thread that said "Super Princess Peach $20 at Game Rush" everyone would be all over it.

Yes, but you are missing my point - if you have plenty of credit already you can hold off for the $10 -> $24 or $27 trade-in values. Or even better, the $2 -> $10 ones (certain GBA games from CC). Of course if you have no credit right now and want to buy a DS game for $20 this is a great trade-in.

There's no such thing as too much credit. If I had $10,000 in GR credit today I could turn it into $20k in cash on Ebay by the end of the month.

Point granted, but I haven't gone that route yet :D. If they don't start getting some deals soon though I might have to convert some of my credit. Just curious though, how can you double GR credit on eBay? I could see breaking even or taking a small loss (depending on how you sell - either the value cards directly at a small loss or possibly a few games that you might break even on). So I could see turning the $10,000 in GR credit into $8000 or $9000 cash, which would be decent if you spent $4000 to get said credit. But how $20,000?? Of course this is all purely theoretical. I haven't gotten nearly that much credit over the entire time I've traded at GR, let alone sitting on cards now . But I might want to convert $200 or so....

Well, there are quite a few "rare" games that could probably be turned into cash pretty easily. I know I just picked up a new copy of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 (PS2) today for $30 in store credit, which I can probably turn into around $50 in cash pretty easily.

Phoenix Wright is very easy to find locally for $25 used, $30 sealed. DDR Mario was easy around Christmas. Then there's the vintage games that Game Rush sells for 99 cents that people are always trading in. Lots of SNES, NES, Genesis, Dreamcast games in the $15 range can be found for 99 cents. I've seen a lot of copies of Paper Mario for N64 for $15 lately as well. Then there's the $2 sealed PSX games...those are mostly gone now...but for a while you could find quite a few sealed RPGs like the FF series for $2 a pop during the summer. There are about 15 different Game Rush stores in this city...so I have quite a few deals I can find. Don't forget the $2-3 Gameboy/GBC games...there are a few gems in there. Oh, not to mention that GR has dropped their prices on a lot of used PSX games. I saw Final Fantasy VIII (non-G.H.) for $3.99 last week but didn't pick it up because there was such a big line. Stuff like that is easy to double your money. Every once in a while you can luck into some of the rarer PSX RPGs at Game Rush for pennies on the dollar as well. I don't collect any RPGs, so I either sell them or use them as trade bait.

There's a GR clearance sale coming up at the end of the month that I bet will have some great deals too.

Ah, I see. Well, I have only one GR to go to and they don't have much (if any) of this stuff. They got one Mario DDR and it was my preorder. They got one Phoenix Wright and I asked my wife to pick it up when I was out of town once I realized it was scarce (I thought it might be something to get her started in gaming) and she didn't - when I got back it was gone (I did find one at Gamecrazy later though). I'm shocked you are finding used Phoenix Wright's though.

My GR has about 5 or 6 GB/GBC games, and they are crap titles. And they have about 10 NES/SNES/Genesis titles, also crap. I never paid attention to the new PSX games before but I'll take a look - are they all $2?? They seem to have gotten rid of their used PSX section - or at least reduced it significantly.

Oh well, I'll just hold on to my credit for the PS3/Revo... Since I don't have the opportunity you do, I stand by my point that it is not worth getting ungodly amounts (more) of GR credit unless the profit is overwhelming (more than double). After all, I'd still be spending hard earned cash and the tying it up in (fairly) useless BB credit :D. About the only thing I can use it on regularly are new movie purchases and rentals - and again, that is only worth it to me if the cost is about half.

But, man, it must be nice to have 15 GR around you, just for a variety of selection on used games... I couldn't imagine . I've been staring at the same used games for months now.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter in 2 days! Yes! It's gonna be fucking amazing!
AAHH!!

If anyone else is gonna play send me a friend request with... I don't know "CAG" in it or something, or I might recognize it. :D

I've got my $70 credit ready for this sucker.

Traded in two copies of Genji for $38 - PMed them at CC to walk out with two for $17. That's how your more than double your take-home ;) Once I return RE: DS (finally played RE0 last weekend; the control scheme wasn't awful, but I don't like it enough to pay $35 in credit for a crappy-graphics version of the original - REmake for $15 would be a much better deal), I will have enough credit to preorder Odama, Metroid Prime Hunters and Tetris for $50 out-of-pocket, give or take. So March is taken care of.

Odama comes out in April :D

Hey, I was going to go to CC tonight anyway to price adjust some of the stuff I bought there. If I could PM Best Buy's price on Genji that would save me the trouble of going there (not to mention the extra $$ savings). Don't you need a printed ad for this though, or do they just call to verify the price? Will a page from Best Buy.com work?

As much as I've been able to get in on many CAG deals, price matching is one of those things I have NEVER had luck with. I almost always get shot down with some excuse or another.

I brought in a printout of the BestBuy.com page, she looked it up online to verify it. And I meant to edit my post to say March and part of April :p
Metroid Prime Hunters for under $20? Yes, please. You guys are all horribly spoiled :p
I know I am. During my first hual at GR, I turned $20 in cash into 2 preordered games and about $35 in credit. Ahh... The good ol' Drake days...;)

Anyway, thanks for the tip shipwreck, but I too don't see a 15 minute drive, and the hassle of trading at GR worth a $9 profit per game personally.

Hopefully the clearance rumors turn out to be true, because I really want a PS2, and if I could get some games at half price, it would make the system look a lot more appealing.
Does anyone know if Gamerush is getting the Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition (the one for 39.99)?

I missed getting it at GS / EB, and I just read that Gamecrazy just started accepting preorders for it... Gamerush may be my last hope, but I doubt they are going to get any in :(
Anyone?

I know some people frequent Gamerush very often, and they are telling me on the phone that "they can't find it in the computer"... I really don't think GR is going to skip one of Konami's huge huge releases.

If they do in fact get the Limited Edition, I guarantee this will go for big dollars right on release, it's a good way to turn credit to cash for those interested.

I should be there tomorrow if they get Tales of Phantasia on time; if I get one of the two good GR employees, I will ask.

That comes out... tommorrow?

Wow, thanks for reminding me.

No prob. I wish I put as much work into my thesis as I did remembering release dates.

Anyone planning on trading in a copy of Genji tomorrow to see if it's still $19? I traded in a few copies today (got over $20 per copy since the GR stores in Indiana give you tax as well) and got Super Princess Peach and Super Bust A Move for PS2. Super Bust A Move is for trade since I already have a copy.

If it's still trading high tomorrow I might trade in a few more to build up some trade credit for some upcoming DS releases like Tetris.
I never paid attention to the new PSX games before but I'll take a look - are they all $2?? They seem to have gotten rid of their used PSX section - or at least reduced it significantly.
Yes, all new PSX games are $2...regardless of what they are marked. They've been that price for months and months. I haven't really seen any new PSX games at any Game Rush except for a few racing titles lately though. In the fall, I stocked up and bought about 60 different titles, including a lot of sealed Megaman games. What's funny is that some of the games I bought sealed for $2, GameRush sells for $15 used.

Thanks for the CC tip Botticus (and of course Shipwreck for the initial Genji info!). As I said I was going to CC anyway to adjust sale prices that have dropped since last month (and I got back a lot more today than I did yesterday - it seems different CC's have different prices). I printed the Best Buy Genji page plus the store availability page (which fortunately showed the closest Best Buy as having it in stock but not the others). They tried calling Best Buy but after being on hold for 20 minutes  the clerk asked his manager and he gave the go ahead without needing to speak to anyone at Worst Buy.

So I took one copy to GR and got $19. Since the purchase price was only $7.99 I was able to more than double the credit so that is a definite go. I am keeping the second copy for now.

Too bad I have to go back to GR tomorrow for Phantasia and the Harry Potter movie :D.
So... anyone try or call about Genji today?
Not yet, I'll make a trip over there this afternoon if no one else posts about it before then.

Anyone know if GR with be getting GR:AW today? I doubt it, but I might get lucky. Hopefully its in by Wednesday.
Anyone know if GR with be getting GR:AW today? I doubt it, but I might get lucky. Hopefully its in by Wednesday.
I might check...I have to grab some groceries tonight and my BB/GR is next to it. Two games for me to get :)

Genji appears to be DOA... GR told me $12 over the phone. It's possible BB may be slower on the drop, so hopefully someone can check there.

But Tales of Phantasia is in, so that's okay. If no one can check BB today, I might just try to trade in a copy there on my way out; worst case I only make $4 on a $8 CC purchase - or hang on to it in the vain hope of a trade-in deal at some point.
