grr someone snatched up all the 1 gig sticks at my store. I was in there on Saturday and they had 1gb, 512mb, and 256mb. well now I just called and all they have is 128 mb for $40 before the discount. grrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They didn't have shit when I was there this morning, my guess is that the douchebag manager got them for himself.

This is why, even though it took over an hour to buy my stuff, that it was good that my store didn't have their act together today. I was able to snap up that solitary 1GB stick before anyone even knew it was on sale :D.

Edit - One more tidbit I forgot - the manager told me they'd be getting a few more Xbox360's in soon (both types). Since last time they all got them in the same week you can expect some at your GR soon as well. I'm still holding off (especially since I burnt through $150 of my credit today :whistle2:(), but if Oblivion turns out to be the greatest game ever I might just break down.

huh, when I called he didn't even check, right away he just told me, " nope sorry all we have is the 128 mb's for $40.
 
Mine still had 1 1GB left this afternoon.. not sure if i really want them though.... isn't 2GB is dropping in price rather quickly? unless GR is going out of biz soon.. i'm kinda saving the credit for Revolution and the games... what you guys think?

I just picked up a 1GB for $40. They still had one left, plus plenty of 512, 256, and 128 cards. The battery caught my eye (a little less than $20 after sale and tax), but I decided to pass. I might wait a week, see if any other CAGs want it, and if it's still there, pick a couple up to eBay.

Anyhoo, talking about the Blue Springs, MO location. Oh, and they also had the MadCatz dance mat and game for GCN for $25 after sale.

I WAS going to hold off for the 2GB, that's why I didn't get the 1GB when Fry's had it pretty cheap. But I just can't pass up sub-$20 for the 1GB (considering the value of GR credit). I mean, I already have a 512 (that I paid about $60 for a year ago) and I never use my PSP anyway, so I don't really need ANY more memory for it. But I think the 1GB deal is too good to pass up. 2GB will drop in price, but they won't be less than $60 any time soon. At least with the 1GB I can pack a movie and several short shows, have a bunch of pictures, some music, etc and be all set if I ever bring the PSP out of the house with me (so far I haven't - I travel with my DS).

Who knows what's up with the PS3, but wasn't there a rumor that it would use memory sticks for game saves? If so, there's a use for my leftover 512 anyway.

I also considered the PSP battery - but again, since I use my PSP so infrequently I don't see the point. But is this the one that is supposed to be better than the one it came with (ie, higher capacity)? Can you just replace the one in there? I might do it if it is an upgrade to the current battery. I do plan to use the PSP a bit this month with Daxter and Katamari coming out.
 
Hm. There's nothing here that's really good. Disappointed that a lot of the older titles that I want aren't on here...

I may have to pick Twin Snakes and Mega Man Anniversary Collection at that price though...
 
Just got back from my gamerush, kinda kicking myself that i didnt go at 10am as i planned, oh well.

I was able to get an Eyetoy for $20, and an extra PSP battery for $17.50. Considering both costed me less than $10 cash each, i think i made out pretty good. The one i went to had a pretty crappy selection of games, mostly just greatest/platinum hits, GBA videos, and a couple shitty PSP games (smart bomb, nba & mlb).

I would've rather had a 50% off all used games, but eh... at least i got an eyetoy and a backup psp battery.

just got back from manhattan beach store. picked up 2 used nintendo branded gc controllers 10.00 each, didnt have new ones, so i bought the used ones. to answer my own question, they did have 50% off memory cards which brought the 251 madcatz down to 10.00 + tax. oh well, not spectacular prices, but better than nothing. gonna see if i can find some new controllers, as used ones look pretty beat up. GR was out of psp memory, but they had a spare battery, and the nyko cases if anyone is interested. game selection was pretty bad. they had a used madcatz 251 for ngc for 5.00 which i am considering, but maybe if its still there at the end of the week... happy hunting all.
 
I have a feeling this thread is about to get messy since this deal is also good at normal Blockbusters as well. Be ready for a lot of people coming in and saying their Blockbusters don't carry any of these games, etc.
 
My GR had the GameCube GameBoy Player 50% OFF. I bought it. It was marked $44.99. When I went there earlier they didn't even have a list, they said to come back around 9 pm. I asked about Ninja Gaiden Black. No, not on the list. Neither was SSX on Tour or DarkWatch.

NO FREAKING WAY! I bought a GameCube GBA player a few weeks ago. I wonder if they will take it back and let me repurchase? They didn't have another :whistle2:(.

Question about the controllers on sale can we get a list of some sort ??Other than the street fighter and mortal kombat controllers whats going on sale is it all controllers that arnt the official microsoft or sony brand???

Yeah, GR ought to start paying me :D.

I found my receipt for the GBA player - I bought it about 6 weeks ago. I'm going to try the very YMMV process of return/repurchase (of course I have not touched the packaging since purchase, so it is still new/sealed). I expect it not to go well (probably they won't know how to do it). I'm thinking of trying the local Blockbuster instead of GR. If the sale is active there, they ought to have the GBA player in their system, right? I mean, they do sell controllers and such there. I'll see how it goes tomorrow, but I'm not expecting much. At least the local BB is only 8 blocks away. If I have to take it back to GR I need to make sure the "right" employees are in there, which is no easy feat (I need the one who is competent enough to do it on his own and willing to do it :D. The manager would be willing in principal but would come up with some inventory-based excuse not to do it).
 
You might be able to get a refund (YMMV), that's if you get a nice manager. I returned Trace Memory about a week and a half ago. I'd had it for like a month and few days. The employee said they didn't have a return policy on new games, only used. So he finally said I can let you speak with the manager. He came up and let me do it. I then bought Ninja Gaiden: Black. Still haven't opened it yet.

Could you add the following to the OP? I purchased all of these and they were on the list from different store, so at least 2 stores in completely different parts of the country have these in the sale:

GC - Urbz
GC - 1080 Avalanche

PS2 - Twisted Metal Black

GBA - Pokemon Pinball

All $9.99 except for Twisted Metal which is $6.49

Also, I know Robots was on the list for GC. I will try to write some of them down when I go in tomorrow.

Some games that I saw on sale yesterday.

And Xbox DVD Kits. They didn't have them marked but I asked and they said they were (at both locations).
 
Did I read the first page right? It says they're selling Psychonauts for $15 and their trade-in value is $21? Geist's trade-in value is $24? I think BB is selling it for $10 right now. Are these trade-in value's confirmed?
 
I don't think Geist gets $24 anymore, but I haven't tried. I thought it had stabilized somewhere in the $10-$12 range.

Anyone know how big GR districts are? I assume they're metropolitan areas or even smaller, but just curious. I'll be in Columbus this weekend and will probably do some trading in (if I'm lucky); I'm assuming anything I do there won't be spied from the DM in Cleveland.
