Current Trade-In Deals

Trade in 2 games, preorder any game for 29.99!! (July 19th - ??)

Restrictions and rules below:
Alright, I read the map today and here's some stuff on the new deal:

- As has been said, it starts on July 19th. I cannot remember offhand the date that it ends.

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter

2 out = $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

This should have alot of stuff so please just search around the website before asking questions.
Traded:

GC Prince of Persia warrior within $14
Xbox Bard's Tale $12.25

Pre-ordered The Godfather, for $29.99 it was an offer I couldn't...well, you know the rest.
Wow, so you're saying I can buy Bard's Tale for $10 at EB and sell it to Gamerush for $12.25? Not a huge gain, but I need a second game to trade and that seems perfect.

found a good flipping game today guys. Medabots Infinity is currently $7 at TRU thanx to the green tag sale and trades in for $15 so your makin twice as much as you paid. Just thought some of you might be interested ik knowin about it
Has anyone gone to the Gamerush in Arcadia, CA to see if they accept preorders for 360 games? Going out in August to see family and it would be nice to preorder a few games which my relatives could pick up and send to me. Thanks
I asked and we're not allowing to pre-order XBox 360 games. However, there is a sign up sheet for the system, I assume its for pre-pre-ordering, meaning they'll call you when they can accept pre-orders for the system, I think.

Nice find. So with that game, you are basically paying $14 out-of-pocket for pre-orders. Not too bad.

Ok, traded in 2 more games today (XBOX)

Pariah $30 (it ws $32 yesterday....oh well)
NFL 2K5 $3

Pre-Ordered QUAKE 4. It says for XBOX, but it's ONLY coming out for 360, right? Hopefully I get it for that....or if I have to pay $10 more, that's ok too
Today I went to gamerush and talked to the manager. He said Id been banned because I had either stolen games or bought them for a better price and was trading them in for a profit (he said this was called flipping and was illegal in the state of Oklahoma). He said if I ever wanted to trade again I had to bring in a reciept so they could adjust the price I got to less than what I payed.
Just once I think it would be fun if someone with a known GR manager like that would take a tape recorder in with them and record the manager accusing them of stealing. Then show them the purchase receipt, play back the tape, and say you are going to sue the fuck outta them for defamation of character . Put a little scare back into GR for a change. Yeah it's alot of work but would be enjoyable, for me at least.
GT4 $20.25
Enter the Matrix $3

Also for those interested there is supposed to be a Madden tourney, at Gamerush, the day Madden comes out.
GT4 down to $20.25!? Gah - I forgot it was Tuesday. That takes the wind out of the EB trade-in deal. I was going to do another tonight - maybe I'll pass now. Any other drops of interest? I hope KOF:MI has held at $18.

I had been planning to scour GR for more EB PO cheapies. I was going to help GR unload some more cheapies and upgrade them to GT4's (which they had none of last week) but I guess they don't want my help :D.

I just traded in burout 3 takedown and kof collector's edition. got 34 in credits. I preordered burnout revenge and still walked away with $5. funny thing is I bought both those games about 2 months ago for $5 each at the same blockbuster.

OK, so I ran to the local BB with my trusty UPC sheet and verified that none of the following have changed:

GC - Baten Kaitos: $14
GC - Prince of Persia 2: $14
PS2 - Project Snowblind: $10
Xbox - Hitman Contracts: $5
GC & Xbox - NHL 2005: $12.25
NDS - Ridge Racer: $10
GC - NCAA Football 2005: $7
and, last but not least, PS2 - KOF:MI Collector's Edition: $18 (whew!)

I probably should have asked about GT4 as a control (to see if this store had the updated price for that and thus we'd be sure the others hadn't changed) but usually the price changes are pretty universal on Tuesday. If anyone finds that any of the ones I listed are different though please let us know!

One that I forgot is Ping Pals - can someone check that for me?

EDIT: It now appears that my BB's are behind on the weekly update so these prices may simply be last week's and not necessarily what you'll get now!

Wait, you got $16 for Burnout 3? Wouldn't they sell that for $16.99 used? I figured it would get $8.

Ping Pals gets $6 in trade

^^^ Thanks for that info - same as last week then, good (unless you didn't check today's trade-in price).

OK, though, I knew something was up, so I called back my local store and she quoted $28 for GT4. So either the poster earlier who said it was $20.25 was wrong or they haven't updated their prices at this local BB yet. Guess where I go in about 15 minutes?

So, if the drop in GT4 to $20.25 is real then the rest of the prices I quoted are not going to apply anywhere else since they are last weeks. Why this store has last weeks I don't know.

As for Burnout 3 - wow, I would have gotten more for $11 at the Best Buy 2 for $22 Reward Zone sale had I known that. I'll try the PS2 (greatest hits) version in a few days to see if that holds. I'll just pick up another one next time it's on sale!

Nope I still have the receipt it is 20.25 and I traded at a regular Game Rush. This was the first time I traded Gt4 so have no idea if it was ever 28. The Game Rush flyers still say Gt4 is 28 but those flyers are pretty old. Well good luck to you all with the Gt4 thing.

other prices
Batman Begins $20
Batman Vegenance $5

Traded:

GC - Resident Evil 4 $20
GC - Starfox Assault $18

Pre-ordered Mario Baseball and got $5 in credit.

Good stuff all around.
I forgot to check...does anyone know if they have BLACK for pre-order yet? Seems like a decent game :)
Yes...its in the system!!

Question about preordering XBOX 360 games with the trade 2 deal....

When I trade 2 games, does the GR employee have to manually adjust the price, or does the game automatically come down to $30 if he scans the coupon and types in the UPC?

Someone needs to know. My GR employee will let me PO xbox 360 games for $30 if the system lets him do it. Too bad I was told this after my last transaction, but no biggie. If I can do this, I need to pick up some free/$5 BB games, and stock up on preorders.

gt4 is definitely 20.25 at game rush today and was 28 on monday (i picked up a couple yesterday at eb, went to gr to price them but like an idiot held out for a day thinking any drop would only be a couple of bucks)

oh and as for the b3 for 16, don't believe it for a second that was done with any legitimacy

$16 for B3 is either complete BS by the poster, or a very strange mistake by an employee. There is a much better chance of the former being BS, than the latter.

I dont know about Burnout 3 - I can give it a shot since I want to open it to play anyway - if they tell me $8, as I suspect, then no biggie, I trade something else.

However, I did just get $28 for GT4 about 2 hours ago (Tues evening). What's up with that? Slow internet connection to that BB to update their computer? I have one more to trade - I wonder if I should pop in there before midnight and do another :D. I don't like to do more than 1 game per week at any one store, so I'd be pushing it...

gr also told me today that the current intention with the x360 is to require a bundle -- system + warranty + game
gr also told me today that the current intention with the x360 is to require a bundle -- system + warranty + game
Aw, man, a friggin' warranty? Looks like I'll just be blowing my GR credit on 360 games instead, and pick the system up elsewhere.

OK, went in to GR tonight and GT4 is getting $28 there as well (I had gone to a regular BB before)... Don't know what's up - have they started going regional on the prices? Most likely my area is just behind the update. Oh well, not complaining!

I got to look at the full screens of preorders for DS and PSP. I wish I had a photographic memory - there were about 13 pages of DS games (includes current games and preorders). I didn't see anything new on PSP, except for one wierd entry - Age of Empires. I know this is coming out for DS, but I hadn't heard of a PSP version.

On DS, though, they have added several: Advance Wars Dual Strike, Dig Dug Digging Strike, Metroid Hunters, Zoo Tycoon, and a few more (Pac n Roll maybe?). I was seeing so many new names pop up that I lost track of them. One that was NOT on there was the new Super Mario Brothers. I'm pretty sure Zoo Tycoon will be a $29.99 title, and many of the others will only be $34.99. But I'm running out of things to preorder so I'm starting to go through the DS games. I figure I'd buy them anyway at GR for full price (with credit of course) so I might as well save $5 and get them semi-reserved since they often get few or none. For example they had Nanostray listed but none in stock - don't think they ever got it. If I had preordered one maybe they would have gotten 1 in.

Still no Mario Party 7 or Super Mario Strikers for Gamecube. And they STILL have GBA Fire Emblem Sacred Stones (for $29.99) on the Gamecube list and thus you can't properly preorder the Gamecube Fire Emblem. This is one I desperately want to preorder but they just won't get their act together (if any GR higher ups are snooping on this thread - please get that TAKEN CARE OF :D)

When did GR turn into EB? I'm not believing anything till i see it, hell the manager at my local GR used to argue with me every time i asked about preorders that the system wasnt even coming out till next year.....

Anyone picked up BHD yet? I'm gonna call about noon hopefully they got them in today.

Will post a couple trade in prices when i get back because i'm gonna trade some stuff in to get GR2:SS next week.

Well, since most Gamerushes don't carry much in the way of new hardware anyways, it doesn't make sense to stock the shelves with something having a slim margin unless you're guarenteed some profit on the tie-ins

I'm not so sure about the warranty rumor either. GameRush doesn't even have a warranty program currently in place. If they start one, that's fine, but they didn't for the DS or the PSP and they sold out of those very quickly.

Kessen III gets $25 in trade for anyone who cares.

Oh, and GameRush had an ad sitting out that showed that you got free Mortal Kombat action figures with the pre-order of Shaolin Monks. You get them when you pick up the game. EB's website has pictures of the figures, but I just wanted to let people know that GR will be giving these away as well.

i am just reporting what my local gr manager (who is extremely competent) told me, not to say anything is decided but that gr is leaning towards the bundle approach

personally, i don't mind the warranty if it's fairly priced but i really don't want to have to pay 60 bux for a game

If the $29.99 Pre-order deal isn't posted at my gamerush what should I do? And also anyone know if they will have 50% off pre-owned accessories again?

Good call. Since Microsoft is going to have to eat a few hundred bucks on the initial shipment of 360s, I imagine retailers aren't going to make dick off them, either. Makes sense -- however bad for us -- that they'd require a few extra purchases to pad the bottom line.

When some of the higher-ups from EB started working for GR.

The GR employee would have to manually adjust it since Xbox 360 games are not supposed to be part of this deal. The computer will give them a message saying something about the deal being invalid if they try and scan the coupon. So your going to need an employee that really wants to manually adjust the price of 360 games for you.

Thanks. Ah well, I will be o.k. with $60 XBOX games since I now have a TON of credit between GR and GS, and still have a bunch of games paid for.
I could have sworn I saw Star Wars: Battle Front listed for the PSP.
Yeah, it's on there (Battlefront II that is) - I was just looking for very recent additions to the system. I preordered SW Battlefront II for PSP several weeks ago :D. I'm pretty sure that's on the list I posted (link in the OP). It didn't seem that there was anything new for PSP relative to that list (which dates to beginning of July). They've added a bunch of DS stuff since then though.

No one lose hope... I just got Zelda preordered for GT4 (at $28, hells yeah) and Medabots ($15). This was at the Cleveland Heights Gamerush. That left me with $11+ in credit. For a grand total of $22 in game purchases, with $5 potentially coming back to me via PriceGrabber. Not bad at all.

And I managed to pick up the only Gamecube broadband adapter in a 50 mile radius from GameStop for $6.

I know someone mentioned this a while back about their own GR, but mine looks a hell of a lot nicer than the last time I visited. They even had someone at the desk with a computer. Shocking. Took him five minutes to find the code for Zelda, but that's a minor detail.

Stopped by my GR today to pick up Delta Froce: B.H.D. and asked if they were pre-ordering X360's yet. The GR rep. informed me that not yet. Its in their system but no relase date and no pre-order. He also said that he was told that only 800,000 units will be shipped by x-mas across North America which was originally anounced to be 1.5 million +/-
anyone in california get $28 for gt4 since tuesday?
I don't know abot CA, but just out of curiosity I asked about GT4 today at the OR GR and they told me $28. Also told me Burnout 3 was $8 as I suspected :D. Powerpuff Girl Relish Rampage for GC is down to $11.25. I can't find a Metabots at ANY of the TRU around here either... Maybe I'll have better luck in the DC area in a few weeks - right around the time the TRU green tag sale goes to 50%.

I scoured the GR racks for cheap games that qualify as PO at EB games. If I find any (I have to compare what I wrote down to the EB exclusion list) I'll post them here. These can be used for the trade 3 for GT4 or any other upcoming deals EB might have. It's a way we can buy cheapies from GR and dump them on EB instead of the other way around. Hey, maybe it will even help them stay in business :D.
